Do you think a protective case is necessary on the hero 10 model? (for snowboarding)

I don’t think so. I just like having something bright colored to attach to it like the orange silicone one I showed for if I drop it in the snow to find it easier.

Why use multiple batteries instead of just a power brick and route the cable through the side?

Batteries are small and convenient I’m trying to stay as light and mobile on the mountain as possible as well as I don’t want to have the battery door open where snow can get into the internals.
