@@micco35plus the 7900gre can be overclocked significantly due to it basically being an under clocked 7900xt, meaning this $550 card rivals the 4070 ti super, even beating it in some games!!

People saying 7900Gre, but it depends on the country and budget. My budget was 1000 euro, and in my country the 7900gre is 100 euro more than the 7800xt. In my opinion not worth it, especially on a tight budget
@@hashtaglobotomy2655 that card has gotten better over time thats why its basically onpar with the 7800xt, thats why i think the 7800xt is a better choice as it too will get better over time
Youll have to spend A LOT of gaming to make up the diffrence in power consumption. I did some calculation not to long ago, I think it was around 5 years gaming 8+ hours 5 days a week or something like that. And that was to make up for like 100-150 dollars or so. So in all honesty, I would never worry about power consumption. Its not that big of a diffrence when calculating it.
4070 has twice as many Cuda cores and 5 times the transistors of the GTX 1080, a $600 msrp card. Yes, the 1070 was $380 new, but I think $500 with the inflation and manufacturing changes isn't anything crazy. If you can't spend more than $400 there's always last gen, or Radeon/Intel.
@@benjaminhoff5004 If that's true, why is it that the 4080 had a MSRP of $1,200 and the 4080 Super came out this year with a MSRP of $1,000? Don't fall for that "inflation" BS. It's greed, pure and simple - they saw gamers were paying 2x the prices during the crypto craze of the 30 series, and jacked up the prices of the 40 series.
@@benjaminhoff5004 A mid range 70 class card now costing the same as what high end 80 class cards used to cost really is not a good thing lol, though accounting for inflation I will agree that it isnt quite as bad as it sounds. But a better comparison would be the 4090 vs the 1080 ti since theyre in the enthusiast bracket for their respective generations. Accounting for inflation, the 1080 ti's msrp would account for about 900 dollars today, while the 4090 goes for easily over 1600 dollars, but Ive seen it regularly creep closer to the 2000 mark. The pricing has skyrocketed since the 2000 series, and though inflation has a small part to do with it, the higher end you go the worse this gets, and its only ramping up more
@@chili6208 fair enough, I do agree, but it would be nice to go back to the 1080 ti days where it was atleast doable getting one without being rich lol
I was going to save another £150 and get a GRE but I ended up getting the 7700XT for £350 so I could put that money to upgrade my CPU to a 5600x. Being a budget gamer, it has been a MASSIVE uplift from my 6650xt/3600.
@@ynfrmtgjf1836 It is amazing. Honestly though if you can squeeze a few more quid, get the 7800xt. I would have preferred the upscale and extra vram. Next month I will get the GRE and give the 7700xt to my youngest son as he is using an old 5700xt
I love concise videos but the “shorts” format of RU-vid makes up for a TERRIBLE watching user experience as it changes the forward, backward and pause dynamic into crap…
@@GeekaWhat Hell yeah, very good card for the price if you dont care for RT. I will buy it most likely for optimal gaming on 1440p with 12600k & 32gb ddr4 3600 😁
If you're on Windows it's Nvidia at every price point. ROCm allows AMD to compete on Linux, but you'd need to verify whether it's enough to make a difference. If I had to wager the 4070 would still outperform the 7900 GRE though
I’ve had my rtx 2070 since launch and I’ve never used the ray tracing cores so if I were to sell it I could probably get more due to the fact that the ray tracing cores are still technically brand new
GRE is on par with 6950xt and you can boost its performance by 10% with overclocking. It uses the same chip as 7900xt/xtx (Navi 31), but AMD lowered memory clocks and disabled some shaders
Go for the 7800 XT or 7900 GRE, especially because you'll get retailer and manufacturer warranty. I picked up a 6900 XT (XTXH) for $480 about a week before the 7900 GRE was announced at $550 and I'm still kicking myself over it.
So which one is better for recording and streaming??? Ive been wondering and searching this up and I’m confused cause everyone just keeps talking gaming gaming gaming
i have it and nope it does not. he should try and uninstall gis drivers with ddu, the reinstalling them. also disable the automatic windows driver updates as those can mess things up aswell
@@bal7ha2ar he did all of those for a few months, the other day we drought gpu to Microcenter to trade in they tested and said it’s temp doesn’t pass general test, above 90 degrees
The answer is 7900 GRE and skip the bracket - Reduce the cost of other parts and 30-50.00 bump or wait till you can get it at the same price. Outside of that this current selection is such a waste at this price point - either go cheaper or more expensive or wait.
7800xt and 4070 are top of the line for 1440p. the 7800xt is the absolute hands down best for gaming at 1440p. best price to performance ratio and you get access to amds adrenaline software, what more could you ask for.
idk about that but here are some options entry level rx 580 gtx 1650 super rx 580 2048sp rx 570 rx 480 mid level rtx 3060 12gb rtx 2070 super 8gb rx 6600 8gb rx 5700 xt 8gb high level rtx 3080 10gb rtx 4070 super 12gb rx 7800 xt 16gb rx 7900 gre 16gb
Ide say go for the 6800xt if you are not into AI and don't have ray tracing immediate ambitions for less. Next best option is the gre but it's limited as well. So, amd and Nvidia know you are stuck between the 4070 ti super and the 7900xt. You might pull off a 6900xt if you can find one.
If “Budget” and “Graphics card” are ever in the same sentence, an nvidia card will never be on that list. We all know this, yet we keep buying it for the same reason we stay on IOS;)
The conclusion is if you want to get raw gameplay FPS just go with the RX 7800 XT but if you want the the more advanced Features like Ray tracing and DLSS, just go with the nvidia card
if you're at 1440p stick with the 7900 GRE if you plan to upgrade when RX 9000/RTX 60 series comes out, it should be viable for at least another 2-3 years unless something crazy happens. at 4K or if you plan to keep the card for much longer the 7900 XTX is a terrific option if you can find it for around $950
@@imtrayven370 nope the gre beats the 4070super when running stock and even beats the 4070ti when you overclock the memory. it can even get close to the 4070ti super and 7900xt

@@luvidege 7800 XT tends to RT better than 3080 in most games, surprisingly. RDNA 4 is supposed to have an even bigger generational uplift with RT, so if we can get an 8700 XT for $450 that performs like a 7900 XT rasterized and a 4080 with ray tracing I might actually be able to stick with AMD despite their lack of a high end product next gen
stop giving your money to nvidia when they lock features to current gen cards only and, raise prices ever year,I don't wanna even hear it's because of hardware no reason why a 3090ti shouldn't not have dlss 3.0 frame generation. just another gimmic for them to be able to say that the 4070 is faster than a 3090 which it isn't. if people would stop buying nvidia and intel they both would have to step it up to get customers back driving better and cheaper products for the consumers, intel already started adding more cores and lowering prices when amd kind of just slaughtered them few years back, but intel still needs some work when it comes to power efficiency, hopefully they learn that with 15th gen, nvidia though is straight up greedy they don't call them ngreedia for nothing.
The 7800XT is already faster than the 4070 without RT enabled, and you say it should be compared against a GPU that is even slower than the 4070? As much as the 4060 Ti 16gb would be comparable to the 7800XT as far as VRAM, the 7800XT is 30-40% faster than a 4060 Ti according to TechPowerUp.
@@narwhal4304 I know rx 7800xt is better than rtx 4070 in raster performance, but let see in price to performance it is competing against rtx 4060 ti 16gb, do you think rx 7800xt rt performance out matches rtx 4060 ti 16gb ?
