I use both the HotHands and a Fuel-burning hand heater in a hunting conditions. I use both in a hand-muff, but the Fuel-burning hand heater (Jon-E or similar Japans/Korenian/HongKong/ 1960-80 style warmer) seem to output more heat as the unit has a large surface area that heats. Above 35F, HotHands below this, Fuel Heaters due to the length of burn time.

This sounds like a great combo for outdoors or when there's no easy way to recharge electric warmers. Thanks for sharing!

this was an excellent video. Thank you. (On the flip side to another comment, I prefer the sound to be mixed loud with me being able to lower my volume rather than me having to raise my volume to hear well.) BTW, I had to laugh when you lit a Zippo lighter with a BIC lighter :-O :-D

One factor not mentioned is that zippo lighter give the fumes of gasoline so not so great to use indoors and not well ventilated. Hot hands are great in that size doesn’t add bulk so you can easily have two packets for two hands. Also great for emergencies since they don’t typically expired unless hole punctured. So you don’t have to remember to recharge it not light a flame. The last option you mentioned is nice because you can control the level heat and turn off when you don’t need it

That is true, while refueling the Zippo can produce some fumes, these are not significant once the warmer is started. It's actually very fuel efficient and functions excellently indoors. Thanks for sharing your insights!

The only two that seem like a good option to me are the zippo and the hothands, I will compare the price (in my contry). The Zippo costs $30 and each refill is 0.7oz, a 4.5 oz bottle costs $4, that is, $0.62 per refill, 5 cents per hour, and a pack of 30 hothands costs $15, that is, $0.5 each, 5 cents per hour. I guess the decision comes down to whether you prefer the lightness of the HOTHANDS or the extra warmth that the zippo provides.

Very interesting to think of hand warmers in terms of cost per hour! This would be very hard when comparing battery powered options since they can last years, yet also require electricity to charge. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah but the elements has a phone charger and flashlight. I’d get an elements, a zippo hand warmer . Covers multiple purposes and can last almost a full work day .. 7 hours is perfect with a lunch break included to warm up in the work truck on lunch & charge your phone. Would be interesting to see how long it lasts while charging a phone to 50% though

Background music was obnoxious. Are Hot Hands the only one small enough to go inside gloves?
@BestProductQuest
@BestProductQuest 6 месяцев назад
Correct, the zippo warmer might be able to fit into a large glove., but the hot hands are the only option that would easily fit into gloves.

My only comment relates to cost, you did not give a price for each unit as they stand. I would assume that the two non-rechargeable units would be less expensive than the old tech ones. I am going to see what I can find on eBay concerning the cost of the Hot Hands vs. the Zippo.

And If your power is off, then you cannot charge them! The non-electrics last a bit longer and no concern about needing power.
@BestProductQuest
@BestProductQuest 6 месяцев назад
That's true, you will need power to charge some of these. Thanks for your feedback about prices, though it can be tricky to state prices as they fluctuate, and there are different expenses that come with electric vs fuel vs disposable that should be considered as well.

Only downside of the zippo aside from needing fuel, is that you can't really turn it off. It works exceptionally well, and a smaller model is available. I have both and have used them on occasion since I work outdoors. Whoever said its not well suited for indoor use because of fumes must wear a helmet, and apparently doesn't know what kerosene heaters or kerosene lamps are either. Yes, there is a slight odor as with anything that burns fuel, but you'll be fine as long you don't drink it dude. And it uses butane guy, not gasoline.

@@kctyphoon You can turn it off by sealing it in a plastic seal bag. Another video has demonstrated it

You didn’t tell us what they felt like in your hands. That’s The most important part next to the heat.
@BestProductQuest
@BestProductQuest 6 месяцев назад
Thanks for your feedback! I would say that the Ocoopa, Zippo, and Hot Hands warmers felt like they could warm the hands most efficiently because of the surface area and high temperatures. On a related note, the Ocoopa is quite weighty and can be used with bare hands, while the Zippo really does need to be in the bag to be safe for skin. I'm not sure if that answers your question, but I hope it helps!

@@BestProductQuest thanks! If you had to only pick one, which one was your favorite?
@BestProductQuest
@BestProductQuest 6 месяцев назад
Honestly, the Ocoopa gets the most use on a daily basis. If camping or working outdoors, I would choose the Zippo warmer and some Hot Hands as a backup. It's always handy to have packs of Hot Hands stashed around in places like your jackets and glove compartment. Thanks for asking!

Why the gloves??
@BestProductQuest

We find that gloves are more professional when handling many types of products on video. They also help prevent smudges and fingerprints. Thanks for your question!
