That even goes for our subgroups! I'm Polish. Poles will never agree with each other. That is until someone else tries to argue with a Pole. If you ever make that mistake, you better be ready for the backlash.
@@kingnothing8570 Oh yes. The lessons of Persistence hunting turned into a military tactic. It doesn't matter how big you are, how strong you are how fast you are. We will simply keep throwing ourselves into the conflict untill your resources are drained.
News reporter: We’re here live, reporting that the ongoing war between religions and nations has once again been stopped abruptly as we’re facing yet ANOTHER alien invasion, here we have a passerby- Sir, Sir, what do you think of the latest alien invasion. Passerby: WHY CAN’T WE JUST KILL EACH OTHER IN PEACE?!
The war goes from Stalingrad, to Stalingrad, to Stalingrad, to Panzerkampf and finally Atero Dominatus. With Union (Slopes of St. Benedict) and Primo Victoria sprinkled throughout.
I've always looked out our dirt ball like this. I will fight anyone who tries to take my home from me , but I also will come running to the aid of our enemies if a outside force ever invaded our ball of dirt .
I love this stories so much. We sometimes may be divided on practically everything under the sun. But to threaten the whole of humanity means your going to have to deal with the whole of humanity.
When aliens are involved it turns from us humans and them humans into us humans and them aliens. no way we let non humands do to us what we do to ourselfs! its like brothers fighting and then a neighbor gets involved wanting to beat one of the brothers.
*Alien* : "why do you still fight human? We broken your fleet, we took your world, and we will push forward, and take the rest of them. And even so, you still fought, whit your mortal wounds... tell me, human, you cannot win this, so why?" *Human* : "i dont fight for wictory, i fight for time. Each day, hour, minute and second I hold you here, is a day, hour, minute and second, that my people have, to prepare. I fight for time, yes, time... time... for my people... to be ready... and kill... you..."
such is a way of the hivemind player.........but im a different story,im one of those rare players who create an empire, but instead playing with it i just force spawn it along side human empire wich is the one i control, then i join forces with force spawned empire and reign hell over the rest of the galaxy together gg
Something you should just never do: give humanity a reason to unite against you. doesnt matter who you are, sooner or later, humanity wins when they stand together
No you should give Humanity plenty of reasons to unite against you. Just make sure it is a cause that leads to mutual progress instead of mutual destruction.
@@joshuamcleod3442 I mean, the reds and caps joined forces to overthrow the axis, didn't they? sure, the alliance crumbled afterwards, as everyone would have guessed, but they did joined forces
I think this would be what everyone will remember and be taught by textbooks: „Beware the anger of humanity, for the only war they know is total in its totality“ from unnamed Hazit strategists logs, unearthed from the ruins on one of their core worlds.
That's actually a good point. We are genetically wired to prefer pyrrhic victories over losing. I imagine ambush predators would fold past a certain point, but humans are genetically incapable of understanding the sunk cost fallacy so they will happily jump on the other guy's sword for a chance to swipe at his eyes.
This is how I visualize human space wars Humanity is represented by various sizes of humanoid figures, some bigger than others. Constantly fighting amongst each other for small things. The opposing force is a massive titan. The massive titan marches towards the humans and threatens them all with death, he then watches as the humanoid beings begin to pile on top of each other. At first the titan laughs with his eyes closed, but when he opens his eyes. He sees the humanoid beings have piled On to each other and formed a titan that is double the size of the opposition titan and before he can escape the human titan smashes him into the ground repeatedly. Once the opposition titan is dead, the massive human titan breaks down and starts to fight against each other for ownership of the corpse.
Exactly. The reason we can say what will happen is because it has in dozens or hundreds of wars before. As far back as humanity can remember, if you insist on war with humans you will face all of his tribe. Even the ones that no longer live with him, even the ones that despise him. I would never as an outsider attack humanity, for I would give them an excuse to stop fighting among themselves for a change. Once that happens it is only a matter of time, as humans are an extraordinarily flexible and prolific vermin. Hundreds of years ago a poet and politician by the name of Machiavelli wrote that if fighting another Prince, he and his family must be destroyed root and branch immediately for otherwise he will destroy you in turn.
It is you in your countless billions who slaughter the xeno, who drive out the heretic, and who crush them all beneath our Imperial might! Never forget that YOU are the wall against which the darkness breaks! *THE EMPEROR PROTECTS!*
meh if it had been the guard no numbers would have saved us. the guards equipment is frankly outdated even by todays standard. mainly their tanks which still use riveted armor. hey Imperium! WW1 called! it wants its shitty armor scheme back!
Human to no war Xeno: I want to buy all the war resources you have. Xeno:Ok Human : Hold on I think you heard me say a lot of war resources I said "ALL THE WAR RESOURCES YOU HAVE" just don't stop it coming and you will get paid.
We are all part of a tribe, on so many different levels, but we are all part of one tribe, humanity. This is also the main reason that I hope we will discover alien life, because the only thing that would be able to truly unite us, is if we knew that something scary was hiding out in the deep dark.
The question is will it need to be "intellegent" or not. Just imagine if it was Space Doggos we found, and think to yourself how Humanity would react to both Sentient and Feral encounters.
I hope meeting another sentient species would unite us in the opposite way. I’m probably naive for thinking this, but the universe is so damn big that resource scarcity is truly a non issue, there’s more than enough for everyone, but we are crabs in a bucket right now. I hope another sentient race can show us that we have more to strive for and maybe even hold out a hand and explore the stars together. What’s stronger than all of mankind? All of another species that feels the same joining with us to claim the void that birthed us.
This is a good one. Not magically overpowered Humans, and it even ends in a near-pyrrhic victory for Humanity, grinding out only a small increase in territory in exchange for billions of lost lives and massive resource debt to their neighbors.
considering each war on earth was followed by an age of prosperity... a total war across several systems mobilizing every single human available would lead to a truly massive economic boom as everything needs to be rebuilt... there's nothing like a war to make money, at least for humans (those contracted loans from the other species would be reimbursed so quickly after the war ended...)
Yeah but how much of humanity's infrastructure and economy was completly destroyed in this case? Its safe to assume that aside from SOL everything else was pretty much rekt beyond recognition. Essentially getting us to square one with the notable exception of the huge war reparations we'd get from the enemy. It would take time perhaps even a decade or perhaps more we'd get to that economic boom eventually but it would take time the rebuilding of Japan comes to my mind after WW2. Can't remember from the top of my head how long it took for Japan to get back on its feet.
In what way did humanity prosper after WW1? America was hit by the great depression, germany was bankrupt, austria hungary was shattered and all of the new nations had problems, the soviet union was a giant shitshow. Age of prosperity my ass. And the way the story was written, really reminds me of the great war.

this gives me hefty battletech vibes of when the clans invaded the inner sphere. their warrior caste of 'trueborn' being battered and weakened as the inner sphere with their grand armies sacrificed so many people until Comstar, the religious telephone company lunatics they are, used the clans own mentality against them and crushed them at tukayiid.
The real scary part is that in real life converting the industry fully to war takes a mere weeks. And the more industry tech increases the quicker that becomes. And the writer here says the human unemployment was quite high before the war yet also says humanity was a major industrial power. Those two things contradict each other.
unemployment rates and industrial might do not necessarily have any correlation, a nation could have a larger industry than their neighbors and still have high unemployment simply due to having so many people that the industrial sector doesn't create enough jobs for all of them.
And, no, in real life converting high tech industries to produce military equipment is EXTREMELY time consuming. Because modern military technology looks nothing like civilian tech. There's not much overlap in actual equipment. You can't convert a car company to make tanks. Civilian drone companies don't produce military drones easily. There isn't a civilian shipyard around that can make military naval ships. The foundational tech is similar, but the actual engineering is completely different. It's the reason that modern high intensity warfare is "bring what you got". That is, you fight with what you have, because there's no replacing it within a timespan when it would be useful. Scenarios like this story only work when the delaying actions can buy the years or decades necessary to convert civilian production to military production. The days of easily converted industry ended in the 1960s. Since then, high tech warfare uses an almost completely different industrial setup from ordinary civilian economies.
@@eriktrimble8784 Depends on quality, most military analysts think that in a ww3 allegory we would have a slew of psudo 60s tanks alongside a few modern ones for the first couple years.
@@janehrahan5116 yeah i think so as well - i mean modern weaponry might be extremely efficient at killing but once factories start getting bombed (which they will pretty much in the opening months of a modern conflict) and your assets get destroyed, you'll need to replace them with simpler tech - the longer a modern peer to peer war goes the more 60s and below tech you'll see in the fight
Apparently they never studied their opponents. This would have been avoided if some basic research into their opponents and understood that their opponents where nothing like them.

Don't ever back a desperate man into a corner, much less an entire people. If you do, you will see why angles flee when he lets loose his inner daemon.
House Sarjak of the Hazit Dominion led their people to ruin because they violated the first rule of warfare: Never start a war with someone you don't understand.
On the contrary, now humanity is the most powerful military in the galaxy. No one would dare fight them and all those that gave them.loans would let them pay off what they owe as a police force for their sectors. Humanity just got a raise.
Very true. The military forces would be scaled back into guard units and interstellar patrol or security units, earning money and trust from other alien races while humanity uses the new tech and gained sectors to earn the finances to pay back the loans. It'd take a while to pay them all back, but they definitely wouldn't be anything catastrophic. Humanity would also very likely use the extra military to scout and mark industrial or mining zones for increased production. I give it 150 years or less before humanity surges far beyond any other civilization in this story.
@Atorius V Yep. A good note, though, is that an event like this is the kind that redefines a people. Humanity will probably never be the straight peace pursuers they were before. That generation died in the war. And humanity will remember that no one actually came to help them. Basically humanity will probably push to pay off the debts then either retreat or pursue a very aggressive political strategy to make a hegemony with them as the head so that they never have to worry about invasions again while continuing to push their military technology further and further.
"A colleague of mine had a saying: Never push the Pink Skins to the thin ice. Granted, it's not the most eloquent of cautionary maxims, but as history would soon bear witness the Hazit would find those words most prophetic."
The human mentality in war is to ask what the cost of victory, count our resources and lives, and if it is equal or greater than the cost then we simply pay it.

I almost laughed out loud when the aliens thought the "human warrior cast" was broken. I would have laughed if i wasn't listening at work. Never underestimate the tenacity and effectiveness of even an untrained human. We don't have a warrior cast because any human can kill. Edit: I made this comment before the story said the same thing.
