I owned a car that has surpased the reliability expectations. 2006 Ford Focus 1.6 Z6 engine. Bought at 221 000 kms, drove it up to 460 000kms trouble free until I lost it in the car accident. As a result I replaced it with facelift 2010 1.8 Ford Focus with 198 000 kms, I do a lot of travelling, so far sitting 229 000kms. I must admit the 2006 focus is solid reliable and never broke anything and I mean nothing, extremely reliable.
I owned a 2005 Ford Focus 1.6 Z6 engine at 230 000 kms. Drove it up to 300 000kms. Solid engine. Only recurring issue was the petrol pump, but mainly due to bad mechanical work done.
Had a Hyundai Getz 1.6...only took that baby for service nothing else. Sitting at 430k km, bought it at 79k km. But now I'm looking at the BMW E90 or F30 320D, not sure how the maint on those is. Anyone who got an experience on those?
Can we all not forget the Toyota Cressida 2.4 22R engine. Maintenance, reliability and luxury at a bargain. I've had mine for 4 years and easily drive to and from Durban once a month
I also had the Golf 5 2.0 tdi for about 2yrs. The only issue they mostly suffer from is cracked cylinder head on the earlier models and they end up burning coolant. Otherwise good powerful car especially for towing light trailer 🤞💪
Driving mark 1, 2.0TDI Tiguan for 11yrs no major issue now at 330 000km. I would prefer it not to have the DPF, although I had no issue mine still original because I frequently do freeway driving. The key again is frequent oil change and allow turbo time to cool after hard driving. I want to see if it can go to 400 000km.
Another car that will suprised many if well maintained, is E90 BMW 325 LCI with N52 engine, how do explain driving a BMW for 5 years trouble free except aircon pump failure. Best engine if serviced religously 10 000 kms oil change interval.
Well said...also true for BMW M54 engine is a good engine if well maintained, had it since 80k now at 455k minor issues done on it ,the gasket and vanos seals need to replace the seals only once...Bmw's just need oil change regular, I change the oil viscosity from 5-30 to 10-40 due to mileage to seal those seals rings/seals
I know that thisis an old video, however why is it that diesel quantum's smoke so much? I basically have two engines for 1 uantum that is alsmost swapped every3 years because of smoking and the turbo
Interested to see what answers you’ll get. I drive a Volvo V40 that I bought second hand. It had 34000km when I bought it, now it has 110000km. I love it, it’s very reliable and I’ve had no issues so far.
Very reliable but irs pretty much paper weight when you need parts. Pray thay nothing goes wrong or you'll be window shopping scrap yards or import parts.
Mr Mumbo I have SUV that I really really like. It's a Land Rover discovery SD4 with the 2.2 diesel engine. Over 100k kms What's your take on it? Reliability and maintenance cost.
@@Ooo-nu6ot Do you talk from ownership?..dont think so..that 320 2018 is reliable , do you know that Bmw now tops the reliability it even tops Toyota and Toyota and some manufactures are now using Bmw engines on their cars including diesel after 2005 i have e90 N52 engine on 325, 530d N57 these are reliable no issues before 2005 I have e46 330 M54 engine, reliable...The Key to have a reliable Bmw is to have regular oil change and not follow their 25k oil change ....the car will be reliable and wont let you down..once over 12ok change oil viscosity from 5-30 to 10-40 oil from known as now the market is flooded with fake oil
The fact that you dont work on a lot of Hondas means that not a lot of them need to be going in to the repair shop...kshuthi they are reliable Ngyadlala, im just joking
That car is excellent doesn't break. The down side is original parts are sold by Mercedes so a little expensive. If you own one the only problem is the exhaust pipe cause it generate heat the manifold doesn't last.
