Officially their website says ACH transfers are available within 1-3 business days and wire transfers can be available within 1 hour. I’ve only done the ach transfer. I’ve never noticed it taking longer than other accounts….. That being said it is a little vague- I never know exactly when the money will be available in my account. With Ally they tell you what day it will be transferred. I hope that helps!
That's amazing!!! Either option would work, but I'd personally choose an online savings account. With a cd you won't be able to access it as easily. With an online savings account you have much quicker access to it (if you find a house sooner than you think or need to withdraw money for something) you can have it within a couple business days. Marcus and CapitalOne360 have raised their rates to .7%. Way to go saving that much for your house!!!
I've been using Marcus for like four years now. I am indeed happy with them and I think they are a very reputable brand. I also just recently parked my money in their CD as well.

Britt, currently deciphering between Marcus, Ally or Discover (leaning towards Marcus especially finding you and that bonus :P ) … I’m hearing from a few people about both Ally and Marcus that it’s difficult to withdraw from Savings. What’s your experience with this?
Great questions! I don't have any personal experience with Discover, but did research it before I filmed this video and everything I read about it was positive. As for withdrawing (from Marcus or Ally) you link to your current bank account. When you're ready to transfer it's very easy, but it takes 2-3 business days to arrive in your bank account. I believe it's the same for all online accounts I've looked into. I hope that answers your question. I love the Marcus bonus (I just wish it were good for more than 3 months. :D). And I love Ally's bucket feature. You can't really go wrong with either. But I'd love to know what you end up going with.
Marcus offers a referral bonus for their online savings account. If you are a new customer and open an online savings account using my link (or someone else's referral link) you will get an extra 1% interest for 3 months. Their current savings rate is 2.15%, so you'd get 3.15% for 3 months. You mentioned you have a regular savings account and CD accounts....I THINK you can still use my referral code for an extra 1%, but am not 100 percent sure since you already have a regular savings account. I would contact them to know for sure. I hope that helps!
You can’t go wrong with either one. They are both good options. Ally is better if you want one account, but would like to divide that account into different categories. Capital one is better if you already have a credit card there. Or would like access to some branches. But the interest rate is a tiny bit lower.
I believe the buckets are only available for the online savings. Not for the checking or money market accounts. If you go to their website you can chat with them and ask specific questions. I've always had a pretty good experience with it.
Love Capital One Hybrid brick mortar & online approach. I don’t like their credit cards compared to other like Chase. But, hands down check/ savings 360 offers better APY
👍 Good question. We use 2 different online banks. I like having our emergency fund completely separate from everything else. I’ve just tried different ones over the years to see which one I like the most (usually when they’re offering a bonus). I’m not sure why others use multiple different banks.

We don’t have any accounts for our kids at Ally. We’ve always had their accounts at a local bank, but am going to go online for them as well. I’ve been very happy with our capital one credit card!!
Any of these three would be good. If you want a checking account to go with it, ally or capital one would work. If you don’t need a checking account, then any of them would work.
Yes- I think it was 6% (or something like that when I opened our account). I just saw Marcus raised their rate to .6% - so hopefully ally will soon too.
