I or someone I know, paid for all of these waders. I’m not a big enough channel to get sponsorship and free stuff yet, in case you were wondering. Since I didn’t mention it in the video.

I haven’t had to send my Sitka waders in since I haven’t had them long. I’ve heard people in season waiting only 2 weeks. Like I said that’s hear say though so take that for face value. Love the video I’ve been considering the rogers elite for my wife

Hey Brandon, First off, thanks for the comment. It helps me and the channel out a lot. I have heard of a faster turnaround time from others as well. at1k, I still think they should just be shipping you a new set of waders and you returning your old ones. Doesn't matter what its made of, they all spring a leak eventually. In Ohio, our first split (where I kill 90% of my birds for the season) is 2 weeks long. You have to own a second set of these to really be covered all season. Thanks for the appreciation though. I LOVE my elites if you cant tell. Its crazy the Sitka ones don't come with a removable liner to me.

I've read a LOT of reviews on waders.......many say how big/oversized many waders are. I'd request that you put the waders on so viewers can see how big they are on you. Thanks!
@TheUrbanHunter.
@TheUrbanHunter. Год назад
Good point. If you listened to the whole video, I mentioned that the slim size fits 90% of people. If that's what you're referring to. But you are right about waders going up to different heights on people. I noted the Cabelas ones sit lower on my chest compared to my rogers elites. Which sit perfectly at the top of my chest keeping me as dry as possible in deep water. The shoulders are a huge deal. Like I mentioned, the metal clips and elastic shoulders are the way to go. The plastic clips break in the cold, and as you're standing up and sitting down, the shoulders on most waders aren't elastic so they either end up too tight or too loose. Lot of things to consider for sure. Thanks for the comment, Scott.

I bought Sitka waders back in December. The leaked on the 5th hunt. Kinda disappointed but I sent them in. Yeah it took a while but I didn’t mind that. I had an extra pair of waders. The warranty and comfort is well worth the price. I’m glad Sitka didn’t insulate their waders. Perfect for teal season to late January. Why? Your layering sustem!!! Shouldn’t rely on your waders to keep you warm! That’s what Sitkas system is for!
@TheUrbanHunter.
@TheUrbanHunter. 4 месяца назад
That does suck that you lost them mid season. They are definitely nice waders, just not worth 1k in my opinion for repairs. They should just send new ones like another other clothing item that fails. Imagine buying a shirt and it rips and they repair your shirt instead of giving you a new one… Brother I wear winter clothes in my insulated waders…..it’s easy to get cold out in the wind and freezing weather in Ohio. They should at least come with removable insulation.
@TheUrbanHunter.
@TheUrbanHunter. 4 месяца назад
You’re basically saying the waders actually cost 2k because you need to buy the layering system on top of the waders… that’s a crazy amount to pay to stay warm compared to insulated ones.
@ericweber7707
@ericweber7707 Год назад
Yeah I have wondered how warm the Sitka and Chene waders are since they are uninsulated. Even with the Sitka gradient wader pants or the Sitka gradient cold weather bib under the Sitka waders..... I'm curious how warm people are on those bone chilling duck hunts. I'm still cold in my insulated waders on certain hunts.
@TheUrbanHunter.
@TheUrbanHunter. Год назад
Hey Eric. Thanks for the comment. I actually own the gradient pants and use them. They are very worm and absolutely essential to having a chance at staying warm with the Sitka waders. Early season they are perfect. But not warm enough in cold weather in my opinion, even with the gradient pants. The boots are plenty warm though. Cheers

Neos are easier to patch if you get a leak...they are 100% more flexible than breathable waders as well. I bought some Banded breathable waders and they leaked the 1st season I used them. Very light use as well. Everyone Ive talked to in my neck of the woods (west tn) had the same issue. It's bad that somebody pays over $340 for so.e waders (kinda important for waterfolwing) and they only last one season. 3 or 4 of my buddies have the rogers tough mans and they seem to like them...may go with the Elite version. My problem is that I'm 6'5" and 255lbs...lol Need a good tall guy wader. The Sitkas look nice but, I can't afford to spend a grand on waders , but if I ever win the lottery....there will be signs. Lol
@TheUrbanHunter.
@TheUrbanHunter. Год назад
Thanks for the comment J. I appreciate it a lot. In my opinion, thick gram neos are a lot less flexible than breathable ones. They definitely are easier to patch though. Maybe since you're taller, the breathable ones don't have as much extra length to them? For me, the neoprene's take so much energy to lift my legs up just to walk or step over things. Everyone has horror stories of waders failing unfortunately... The fact of the matter is that there is no magic material that will last forever in a hostile environment such as a marsh with sharp stuff everywhere. We just have to plan for it to happen since it will inevitably will. I would rather have a few sets of waders with built-in insulation, that I can send in for repairs, and still have several hundred dollars saved in the process. Rather than have my season shortened by 2-6 weeks potentially. In Ohio, the first split is only 2 weeks long, and that's when I kill the majority of my birds. Funny comment on the lottery winning though, lol. There will defiantly be signs ha. Cheers

how bout the ankle fit aspect........some of my areas are mush almost to the knees.........without ankle fit, its easy to leave the boot in the mud......and tape around the ankle or bicycle inner tube/ leather belt around the ankle area gets old quick........I've found LaCrosse alpha swamp fox fit great but rots out and leaks after a year........the Sitka with LaCrosse boot may work great if they have better rubber...........Another awesome wader is the High n Dry wader....... coming out with a zipper this year, theyre as tough as they come........
@TheUrbanHunter.
@TheUrbanHunter. 4 месяца назад
My ankles are pretty lean. I never have complaints with the ankles. Some of them are just rubber where some gave neoprene around them to make them easier to walk in. I usually wear 1 or 2 pairs of thick Marino socks too which probably help with that. I’ll have to take a look at some of those. Thanks for the view/comment.

The Rogers Toughman are great waders for the money. Yes, they look a lot like Frogg Toggs, because they are made by Frogg Toggs. They literally come in a Frogg Togg box. The boots suck but the waders are decent and roomy. They were my go-to wader for about 4-5 years. I usually get one and a half to two seasons out of them before the seems start to leak. It seems like once one seem starts to leak, it's a very short time until they all leak. Rogers/Frogg Togg offer no assistance after a year. For the price, that doesn't upset me too much. I have tried damn near every wader that will fit me, Rogers, Banded, Lacrosse, Cableas, Sitka, etc. My favorite waders....by far...no contest...are my Sitka waders. There is not even a close second. I live in eastern Montana, waterfowl hunt 25-30 days per season, and we regularly hunt in temps in well below zero. I buy all of my waders uninsulated. They are so much more comfortable. Simply adjust what you are wearing under the wader to match the temps. I have no use for an insulated wader. I am 5'-10" inches tall and very fat, around 320 pounds. Finding waders that fit is tough, finding waders that I can actually move around in is even harder. Sitka takes the cake. I wear a 3xl size 11. (The boots run small. I normally wear a size 9.5 or 10) For comfortable, warm boots, Sitka is lightyears ahead. The zipper front is awesome and doesn't leak. I like the Rogers but love my Sitka. As for warranty...I haven't had any issues with my Sitka waders. I have had other Sitka gear warranted. The process is a little complicated and both items took right at two months start to finish. Both were repaired to perfection. One of the items I was given the option of a new product or a repair. I chose the repair because even though my vest was pretty thrashed, I've had hundreds of great hunts in it and I'm kind of attached to it. I keep a set of Rogers for backup. They are cheap and work good. If my Sitkas were to get wet or punchered, I'd have the Rogers for a backup set. To say the quality of materials and comfort of Rogers is even close to being on par with Sitka, is a far stretch. Are Sitka worth 3-4 times as much? To me, yes. Maybe not to everyone. 1K is a lot of money for waders. What do you spend in fuel, shells and decoys, etc. per year?

Hey Todd, thanks for the comment and real world experience . It’s been a minute since I watched the video but I do believe I mentioned that the waders are made by frog toggs. Everyone has an opinion and for hunting ducks maybe 20 days a year for the last 6 years, I much rather prefer the rogers over the Sitka. Sitkas are nice but not worth the price. As someone who wears their products and is a pro member as well. As someone who is 5’10/170, I get cold pretty quick but I like to have good mobility in waders. I run insulated waders even for early season and layer up even more during the cold cold. I hear where you’re coming from though. I do think the Sitkas will hold up better, but I’d rather have 6 pairs of Roger’s waders that will last my lifetime of hunting. The toughmans boots do suck, but the elites have very nice boots. Which is what I use. I Appreciate the feedback. Good luck this season.

What do you like to layer in your waders for when it’s really cold? I like the gradient pants and the heavyweight bottoms, but want something a little more when it gets below 40 degrees
@TheUrbanHunter.
@TheUrbanHunter. 9 месяцев назад
@@bullsprig3324honestly I don’t think I’ve ever hunted -40 or anything that cold. I run pretty cold though so I always layer up. I use the gradient and Marino socks with foot those hot foot warmers anytime it’s below like 20 degrees because it’s always windy here. If it gets really cold I wear my cold weather deer outfit and squeeze into the waders and that helps a lot. It’s usually my feet that freeze first though. I can’t tell you how much those foot warmers help me out there. I outlast all my friends. And I’m not just surviving, I’m comfortable out there. Good luck this season.

Thanks for this as well. I appreciate all feedback. I understand they want you to layer up, as every wader requires some form of layering to stay warm. But that’s also a cost savings not having to pay for insulation in the waders. They should cost 5-750 if they’re going to cut corners there. They could easily have come with a premium zip-out fleece or merino wool zip out for 1k. Instead they charge you another 250 bucks to buy the insulating layer. That’s crazy money.
