You kinda missed the mark on your defense of Tesla. It isn't NP spam that makes him better than Gil: it's team and personal utility. Golden rule is better on Gil than Galvanism on Tesla, because Gil has much better cards and NP gain, and will crit more consistently. But Tesla gives PARTY NP gen bonus, has ignore invul, and survivability with guts+Def. Buff success rate for the team is also a niche but nice bonus. Helping supports get their NP faster is huge for CQs. Meanwhile, Gil has no defense, and nothing to get around enemy defenses. He just does a lot more dmg with NP+crits.

Tesla went through 4 rounds of upgrades, you'd hope he was good after all that support

I actually agree with a lot of this list. I would argue on Van Gogh front (Yes, as a massive Van Gogh fan and owner of a 120 Van Gogh), in recent gameplay she has not seen much use. Kernunnos was made specifically in such a way bringing Gogh to that fight would be not great, and her solo potential is getting bonked every time they slap a "debuff immunity to party/enemy" onto the field. It is one incredible inconvenience to an otherwise incredible unit, her support capabilities are nuts, but i also feel people sleep on Voyager a lot. I had a lot more use out of voyager, with upgraded NP and S3 he just clears 46-50k waves with white damage, and can get both his own, and party's np back really easily. Stars for the gorilla next turn? Quick np and 50% charge star bomb. Debuff immunity? Check. Evade with quick dmg perf up? Check. He's overall just incredibly solid, upfront, with no gimmick attached great unit. I'd argue as a general support Van Gogh stands on top, as a general, everyday use Foreigner Voyager wins. Edit P.S note: There are so many great riders you can literally point at a random 5* rider and they'd be able to carry you through most quests. Reines wouldnt be my pick, but i'd spend just a month trying to figure out who the best rider is, so i am just going to stick to my Taigong Wang and shut up lmao.

I mean, i wouldn't call Melusine a "savior" at all.(those are the supports that can make just about anyone work like Castoria or Koyanskaya L) she's just the definitive best Lancer. That's all.

As a big casual that somewhat pays attention to what's meta the only servant I didn't see coming was Tesla, because I never really had heard about him but he does in fact seem pretty strong. I've just been using Jarcher for such a long time now with little to no need for any other archer period, she's really good even without Castoria. I also didn't really know what to expect for Rider because I've just used Da Vinci and Ryouma, which takes care of just about everything for me. Reines is still a good pick because support good, and Ozy after upgrades definitely seems powerful, but they all seem so closely tied that it really is hard to say. And I get that what I use the most is definitely not meta defining, but it is funny to see how other ppl look at it while I just use what I have.

I know availability was not a metric taking into account for this list, but i feel it’s important to remind everyone that as of February 2024 in jp everyone should have a free Saber Artoria, as part of the FSN anniversary campaign. So yeah, she’s good

I would say Okta Summer Alter is better than Ibuki by virtue of having hard defense, something Ibuki lacks and doesn't get from supports. Her s1 is only 30% attack up but it isn't limited to 3 attacks. She also has purge defense buffs on NP which is kind of a sidegrade from pierce, so that's debatable depending on the situation. In addition to that, she has a 30% NP gain buff with a really good arts card and decent quick cards, meaning she doesn't really struggle to get her NP back. Overall, I'd say she's better than Ibuki in nearly all situations except for looping because quick lol.

At riders rn, pretty solid list, will update and try to give my input especially for new players. Edit: My take away is evil woman GYAAAT. Jokes aside, for new players, def go for Caster Artoria, Reines and Ruler Skadi if you can. If you can get any of those, especially Artoria and Reines you're basically set. All in all, pretty decent list!

I hated gil in fate/zero and Fate/stay night, but in babylonia he was one of the best characters. That show saved Gilgamesh for me.

2:08:00 Douman amazing people are just obsessed with looping and don’t really care about crit supports. And before people tell me I’m wrong I love playing with crit units i have a Grailed Douman, himiko and my Ushi Gozen is 118 on JP and i gotta say most people don’t have any crit supports on their support list. It makes running double Douman or double himiko comps take so much longer because I’m always search for a max skilled friend support but people only care about the meta supports and then they’re favore dps units

while i usually dont comment on stuff like this I feel like you missed an opportunity to bring up melusines closest competition for best in class which is bhima dont get me wrong melusine is just goated but bhimas skills and down time plus him having anti berserker attack up makes him extraordinarily powerful along with his third skill making his crits powerful on another level plus his ability to remove one enemies buff on np

I just can't view them in a vacuum. Even If i get summer Ibu after this summer, she still has to compete with as 100 + np4 Morgan which is just.... not really feasible. To some extend this also effects archers (yes i somehow have 0 tesla copies), and I assume people also feel the same about the Saber category. Like... I do have Godjuna, even on np2 but the resources I need to spend to make him as viable is too daunting.

My takes for the best 5 stars: Sabers: Heart=Ibuki Gameplay=Muramasa Lancers: Heart=Enkidu Gameplay=Melusine Archers: Gilgamesh, Orion, Durga, Ptolemy tied on both Riders: Heart=Iskandar Gameplay=Davinci (she's a looping machine. she may be specialised, but that specialty can still work in most situations.) Assassins: Heart=King Hassan Gameplay and heart=Koyanskaya Caster: Heart=Merlin Gameplay=Castoria Berserkers: Heart=Ibuki Gameplay=Arjuna

I’d personally disagree with Tesla being best archer. I find his S1 to be a bit bloated with effects that don’t help out as much as they could. The other two are solid, but not what I’d call “best in class” worthy

Archer is Gil by default....just read how many servants are weak to Enuma Elish.

Morgan best berserker hands down. Iv used em all btw but CQs and invincible comp is just chefs kiss. No matter the waives. No matter the gimmicks. Just morgan castoria and Merlin will allow you to get it done. Otherwise you’re there for hours trying diff set ups. No one has time for that. And she can farm. It’s morgan hands down all day people. Cmon 🤦
