For Absolutely the BEST fall apart, Juicy, Delicious stew or pot roast, my butcher of 55 years had told me the Best cut of beef fir those type of dishes is Shoulder. Its like the poor man's filet mignon!! Fantastic for braising!! Enjoy!!😉
Damn, I almost bought the shoulder but got a choice tender chuck instead. Looks like we're eating lots of roast this week so I can figure out which cut I like better 😂
Hey! I just wanted to let you know I'm a single father of five, four of whom live with me. I use this recipe all the time. It's quick, easy and my kids love it! Thanks for putting it out there.
Great recipe! After dinner, I poured the leftover stock and vegetables into a blender and made a puree. Then, I added the leftover roast and some frozen peas and had an amazing soup for the next few days!
Had to come back to comment because I just tried this recipe and OMG. Best pot roast I’ve ever had! The meat was ridiculously tender and juicy!. This will forever be my go-to recipe from now on 😊
Mine is in the Instapot right now!!! I’m a newlywed cooking a new dish for company for the first time 😅 thank you for such a simple and easy recipe to follow! I didn’t have any apple cider vinegar, so I mixed a bit of applesauce with white vinegar. Let’s see how it turns out!!!
@@inspiredtaste It turned out fantastic!!! The roast fell apart as I pulled it out of the instant pot (: Roaring success! Thank you for this easy recipe that I can do anytime!
I love to cook and have cooked constantly for decades 1000’s of things and never thought of substituting applesauce with vinegar when out of apple cider granted not the same like for like flavor replacement but still a fantastic hack! Thanks for sharing!
just made the recipe for this bit over 4 lb beef chuck had it for about 80 minutes came out so tender very delicious I appreciate the video and the recipe
This is my new go-to recipe for pot roast! I made this for dinner last night. It was so flavorful. The family absolutely loved it. I wouldn't change a thing. P. S. Don't skip on the gravy! So good!!!
Thanks for keeping this simple! I clicked because the video was short. It was super helpful! Roast came out wonderful! I even made some tastey roast beet sandwiches with leftovers today. 😋👍🏼
Thank you for showing me how you did all the steps. The way you put the final pot full together was pretty cool with the herbs & potatoes. I'll give this a try here soon.
Searing the meat with all those spices and seasonings on it is a bad idea. You’re just burning the seasonings and not really getting much browning on the meat. Dry it off, sprinkle with large grain salt and let sit. Come back and pay it dry again before adding it to a hot pan or instapot. Make sure your oil is hot too. Then add the seasonings once you put the holy trinity in after removing the roast after searing. Once your liquids are back in then add the roast and let it all go.
Wow ‼️😀‼️I just made this today , it was so scrumpt- deli-icious ‼️‼️‼️‼️ So tender & it taste Grand ‼️‼️‼️, I must say I was hesitant because it was only my second time using the Instant Pot , but I can truly say I have never tasted anything better ‼️
Aloha it's so fun knee that we all do almost the same kind of recipe but might add things differently like say thicker broth or add other kinds of seasoning, I dont see you adding butter to yer mix by adding butter you will see the difference in taste I use lots of butter smile, I alway use butter in my cooking I have no secrets I'm not a chef but love tooooooo cook and bake its a good hobby, even gardening good for the body wen u retire 71 young gotta keep moving once u stop well thats all folks as bugs bunny would say,,, we use a instant pot pressure cooker and came wit airfryer and this is the next best thing to sex smile, well mahalo for yer time in preparing the awesome vid have a super year
Interesting fact: The potatoes will be mushy afterwards... but if you refrigerate them overnight, they firm back up nice and proper! Cant say the same about the carrots though.
Just bought an Instant Pot for my son. He loves meat and potato type dishes, so I'm hoping he'll try this recipe. It looks delicious and seems really easy to prepare!
How the heck do you stop the potatoes coming out mushy? Have tried this recipe two separate times and both times the potatoes and carrots came out mushy and disintegrating.
I made this recipe over the weekend and my family loved it! Usually we have small portions but everyone went for seconds and ate way more than I expected! I cooked 3.2lb of beef for 62 min + 15 min natural release. I made a couple of substitutions based on what I had in the kitchen: I used 1 tbsp of Better than Bouillon + 3.5 cups of water instead of beef stock, white vinegar instead of apple cider vinegar, dried parsley instead of thyme and rosemary. I also skipped the celery and doubled the onions and bay leaves to better suit my family's palate. The onion added a WONDERFUL sweetness to the broth-- I was so worried that this would've been too salty for us but it turned out perfect! My pot was nearly full by the time I added the onions so I definitely wouldn't have been able to steam the potatoes at the same time. That was fine though, because I planned to make mashed potatoes separately anyway. :) Next time I'll prepare some broccoli as well. Thanks so much for the recipe!
Oh my goodness that's amazing! We love hearing feed back you are so welcome. If you have a min to share this feedback on the review section on our website to inspire others. We would appreciate it.
My boyfriend just made this since we had to celebrate Christmas today 12/21/23 due to scheduling conflicts. O……..M……..G……..This is super moist and flavorful!!! It was easy to make too! Thank you so much for this recipe! Happy Holidays!!!! 🎉🎄🎉🕎❄️🎅🏻😃
Can I make this without having to cook the vegetables in the pit because I wanted to just make the roast and gravy over some mashed potatoes and corn or carrots
Clear brief and simple to follow...have subscribed many many thanks for posting. Was recently gifted an instant pot and clicked here because it was short. Please make more like this. Best wishes.
I'm making this right now!!! I am not a cook, and I live by myself. I wanted to try cooking for once instead of eating Safeway fried chicken. My friend at work sold me her Instapot that she used once. I gotta admit, I was pretty intimidated by all the "high tech" but she kept encouraging me to do it. Your recipe and video seemed so good and easy for a guy who doesn't cook at all. Well, I'm going to learn if I did it right in about 45 minutes. Thank you so much for your video!!! Aloha, Kenny
i put 2.5 pounds in for 40 minutes and it came out super dry and tough. i figured i overcooked it but all the recipes seem to share the same amount of time. it wasnt pink at all it was all brown as if it was cooked so i wonder if it was overcooked.......
So happy to hear! Would you mind taking a moment to leave a review in the comment section of our blog? Your positive feedback can encourage others to try our recipes, too. Thank you!
Came home after a 11 hr construction job, I was tired so I stoped off at butcher picked up a beautiful roast 3lbs , rinsed it and put in instapot with veggies added a cup of water and McCormick pot roast seasonings, set instapot at 1 hr once done I will remove veggies and add cornstarch slurry to juices. Hope it turns out and I don’t fall asleep waiting for dinner to be done lol
We keep the potatoes, but usually remove the celery and sometimes the carrots. They are really only in there for flavor. We talk about this more in the recipe on Inspired Taste: www.inspiredtaste.net/41089/pressure-cooker-pot-roast/
They are there for flavor -- you can serve them, they will just be pretty soft. Some of our readers blend the onions/celery/carrots and add to the broth or save for a soup another day.
👍🏻👍🏻Thank you for sharing this delicious instant pot recipe! It amazing all the things we can make in our instant pots. I’m adding this to my list of recipes to try.
