I have a keurig 2.0 and used a reusable carafe pod I purchased on Amazon, no problems with the ooops. As soon as I closed the top this menu pops up. Way more size selections and I don't have to use the carafe. My 2.0 sizes go to 18 oz. now I can use my coffee cup instead of the carafe and fill my cup to 16 0z. on one round. Love it plus I can use my own grounds and save money.
I couldn't get the right spot so I just taped a piece of the label (?) to the top of the re-usable k-carafe. Now the experimenter/hacker in me will find the right spot and perhaps a non-taping method to make it better. Couldn't have done it without your explanation of why it works! Thanks!!
Kool. I was messing around and found the feature but then it did not do it again and I did not know what I done. Thank you. Although the reusable cup I have does not fit good for the extra menu , it makes water get all over. Thank you
I've had the Keurig 2.0 for years now and have never had to do any of this to get my 12oz cup of coffee. I used my refillable k-cup once and set the level to the 12oz and since then even if I use a regular disposable K-Cup it stays at the 12oz setting so no need to cut and tape anything over the sensor.
I have never used OEM K-cup pods. I have the one I purchased from Big Lots, and have not ever had to tape anything. All options where opened when I did the trick you recommended with the sliding the pod insertion location. Sliding that lever and placing the pod into the spot and it opened all the other features and options.
Worked on my k200 for coffee, thanks! Do you have any tip on doing the same but for water? I tried cutting the bottom and cleaning out my kcup but doesn't work the same way. Maybe the weight doesn't hold the needle well?
iMinouBean hi, it's most likely flexing more at the bottom of the cup since it's been cut and not holding back the needle where it needs to be to activate the full menu. I would try just hollowing out the cup by removing the filter portion.
Danielle Ayala that's strange.. It takes a bit of trial and error of taping the piece of lid in the right spot sometimes. It took me a few tries before I got it in the right position. Works fine once you do.
Keurig was supposed to have released this machine back in 2014 with all of these features and functions. I believe they decided to put the brakes on the non branded k cups to keep their revenue high. Which only infuriated the consumer. I purchased the 2.0 550 in 2014 and waited until the warranty expired then I took two screwdrivers and unlocked my machine permanently! I’m still using it today and it’s like new!
As, I’ve been trying to find a work around for the full menu brew screen to pop up and watching ur video and others - not one worked for me - the EASIEST way is to use the pod clip holder. I had taken it off the K-cup basket but re-clipped back. U can put a K-pod into it so full brew screen menu will also come up. This is the pod clip that comes with ur purchase; this. (One videographer said to toss it. Bad idea.) Others use a 🧲 while the pod clip is the work around! So easy! * Of course, the pod clip needs to be adaptable to ur Keurig.
Can you tell me if there is any significance to different colors of reusable k-cups For example the Carafe reusable all seem to be orange. The smaller reusable k-cups are purple or red. I understand the sensor is reading and looking for the color. I have experiement with colored paper using bright orange and pink and have it read it successfully. I noticed a carafe k-kup has a purple or green dot. This makes me wonder if your using the orange reusable carafe cup should you use a purple or green dot?
I made up something using some bright pink/orange looking paper. I cut it in the shape of a key and made a hole at one end that fits perfectly over a circular area with the end of the key shape paper placed on top of the lid. This gives me the option of stock menu or full. This is a bit rediculas we have to go through this but so be it.
I have never used the Carafe pods and was able to unlock those features with a regular k-cup reusable. However, it would be best to get the k-pod for more than 8oz. It would allow you to add more coffee. I will be purchasing a k-pod for the k-mug and k-Carafe. The trick is where he points out that you slide the lever down. Now you place the pod into the holder and slide it down just slightly and that will open the additional features. You will need to use a butter knife to remove the pod. To remove, just slide the lever again and take the knife and place it below the lever and just slightly pry up and it will slide the pod up so it can be removed.
You don't need that. It is just a matter of inserting the reusable pod correctly to open up the additional features. There is no need to use extra effort and create anything to make it work. You didn't need to do this. The trick was finding the triggers. The trigger for the additional features was sliding the lever to allow a larger/longer pod into the device. Sometimes we overthink things, and do more than we really need to. WE overthink things. It really is that simple. WE just refuse to believe it.
No luck on our model. Thing won't close. :( Ah well, back to cutting out donuts from old kcups to dangle around refillables (If it was up to me I'd tape it, but you know how it is. Got to compromise to keep the peace.)
It didn’t work for me, and I just purchased this keurig because my 7 year old Keurig died this morning. I need at least a 12oz coffee in the mornings..help
Marilyn Roman hey sorry It didn’t work for you. I recommend returning it and getting the model above which should allow you the larger sizes without mods. Even the aftermarket re-usable pods have the larger size feature.
Matt Loucks hmm, strange. It works with my K-200 only with the plastic kcups though because the cup has to be long enough to hold the puncture pin at the bottom in front of it. Just make sure you have already opened and closed it with the cup inside to puncture the bottom before you do it otherwise it will be a big mess.
dina morales Hi, sorry I don’t know why it doesn’t seem to work for everyone at least not yet. Seems to work for most with the same model. Might be a change with the units depending on manufacture date.
Hi how are you doing. I was wondering if you could help me fixing my k155 It's not working because that is a sign that pop out saying the machine is overheated. And it doesn't go away or doesn't let me do anything, it is blocking me from doing anything on my Keurig. Any help will be appreciated, please save me.
Lol! Hope you are going well as for your keurig I’m afraid it’s pooched. Seems like it needs a new heating element in which case you are better off just replacing the whole thing unfortunately. Good news is with the holidays here you can probably get one on sale cheaper then you would the rest of the year. Cheers
I used the trick of opening the full menu and it worked fine except that my coffee was full of grounds without the needle in the bottom hole. Any ideas?
Barbara Holley hi! You have to close it with the pod in normally so it can puncture the hole in the bottom then open it and re-install they way you did to unlock the full menu.
I do that, but without the needle to hold the hole open, it closes slightly and forces the grounds out the top with the pressure. I have the new K600. I wonder if that makes a difference?
Barbara Holley hmm, not sure why it would do that because the hole would be open at the bottom and without the needle there it should be slightly less pressure. Also it should still be aligned in the same position for the hole at the top. Strange.
It's quite frustrating. Today I even put three holes in the bottom next to year other and they all closed down and forced coffee out the top! Thanks for getting back to me.

In the settings it only has two options. You set it for the hottest one, and that should be no hotter than 200 degrees. Anything hotter would leave teas and coffees too bitter.
Which model is it. Is it 425 or 525 and higher? If so, then it will work. Potentially it depends on which models you have whether or not this will work.

If your using a reusable pod. You put too much, or you need to purchase the reusable k-mug pods or even the k-pod Carafe pods. You can purchase them on Amazon. You may want to test different coffee. I found that Cafe Bostela works well and I don't have to use a lot. My reusable pods came with a spoon. A small one and I add no more than 4 of those spoonfuls and my coffee is perfect no grounds. It is also a finely ground coffee. You have to test different types, and ground coffee to find the right one for your palate.
