My parents did almost exactly what you are doing. They read to me constantly and because of that I was literally reading encyclopedias before I got into Kindergarten. I’m pretty sure I was able to read Goodnight Moon on my own by age 3. They definitely didn’t have the variety of children’s books back then like they do now though. I’m sure your little one will be reading his first fantasy book before long!
:) I certainly hope so! He’s very very into the books and stories and starting to recognise letters more so I think spelling simple words is not too far off. Currently his latest love is for the Planets so I’ve bought a few new titles for him on them :)
I just had to read "Pete the Cat and the perfect Pizza Party" as part of the nap time ritual. He loves the delay while he points to all the different pizzas on the inside cover: mud, french fry and 'stinky sock' pizza" produce giggles.
Ha! Not heard of that myself before now so I will look it up as anything about stinky socks and such I’ve no doubt mine will enjoy when he’s a little bigger
We don’t actually rotate through the books as he loved variety, but we do have enough that we could XD I think we’re just starting to get to the age where I probably need to store or donate some of his very small baby books as he’s outgrowing them.
Lol if you used these you would complete it fast! I don’t count them for mine, but I could see the perk of doing so as I read them all so often I’ve probably read some over 100 times in the last year.
