Looking for the best pair of knee pads?
Most knee pads are terrible, so when I finally found a pair that didn't fall down to my ankles, slip off to the side and cause me to bang my knee, or flop around when I walked, I just had to share them.
So, in this video, I share the best knee pads for construction, flooring, handyman services, DIY, gardening, and pretty much everything else work related.
Seriously, don't pay a whole bunch of money for knee pads until you see these inexpensive, but effective knee pads that are comfortable and easy to put on.
The knee pads I recommend are not only the best, they are also the least expensive.
As a pro handyman and avid DIYer, I've used these for all kinds of projects including flooring, plumbing, gardening, installing a flagstone patio, painting, installing baseboards, and even assembling furniture.
The reason I like these knee pads so much is that you can barely notice they are even there.

My big issue is the straps end up hurting the backside of my legs right at the bend

I guess I’m going to get the $250 ones that may seem very expensive but I just spent about 10 hours on my knees today and holy shit

1) Simple, basic foam knee pads w/Velcro strap. 2) KP Industries articulated pads. 3) Custom fit pads by Pro-Knee.

Returning my $49.99 knee pads I bought at Lowes today. They kept falling to my ankle. Getting the cheap ones you recommend. I'm 62 and work in a grocery store and have calluses in knees.

I use a pair of husky gel knee pads. They work great. One strap. No slip. Super comfy. Costed me $40.

Bought the foam knee pads to start, and I didn't want to spend too much. They lasted 10 months. I'll forget they are on as I run into a store on way back to shop. Going to buy another pair.

Ever try the ArcTeryx LEAF Knee Caps? Have a pair for around the house stuff and hunting. For my use, they work very well.

I actually have those exact same black foam knee pads that I bought at the dollar store years ago. I keep them attached to my emergency evacuation bag and I was actually coming here to look for an upgrade. I am a retired handyman. When I used to do flooring jobs like Ceramics or wood floors at the beginning of the day I would tape the knee pad to my pant leg so they never moved. I know how you feel about skinny legs. They used to call me bird legs in school.

I have owned the cheap foam ones for several years now and I totally agree they work well (most jobs) and are a great value. Keep up the good work!!

Thanks for the practical overview. I'm pretty sure most people who design and sell knee pads work in offices -- not on job sites ...and the consequences define almost every choice in the marketplace.

I bought the second pair of pads you talk about. The plastic tabs break easily. The rubber on the knee peals off rather quickly.

Man, I was sooo ready for yet another $200 solution here...and that def is nowhere near what I want to be buying for my DIY life. Very refreshing to see someone think cost/benefit rather than "these are the best, period".

I need something for welding. I repair railcars and have to weld patches on the decks (floor). You talk about nails but have you ever knelt on to a red hot piece of slag, rust or red hot piece of metal? Or have a piece of hot slag or rust get in between your knee pads and pants? Yeah its not a good time at all. Anyone have any suggestions besides find a new job? Lol

I cant find any that stay in place, and my pants get crazy bunched up above and below and behind my knee causing crazy chafing and hair pulling. Drives me nuts

Those leather CLC knee pads are the best in my experience. They are only 35$ and they are comfortable, unlike most other knee pads I’ve tried in the past. They don’t fall down, and because they have the leather shell, they only get more comfortable the longer you wear them. It’s what most concrete finishers around here wear.

The best knee pads are clc leather , they don’t slip and you don’t feel like you have them they’re heavy duty and they don’t make your knees sweat
@3rdGenFireChicken
@3rdGenFireChicken 4 месяца назад
Sorry to tell you young man they are the best. They flop around because you need to adjust the strap to fit you. There is a science behind the design. They take all the weight off your knees and transfers it to your shins. You can work in those 12 hours a day and your knees won’t be sore. I’ve had mine for over 25 years and has had 3 pairs. I don’t suggest them for a diy person because they cost $275. But if you do floors for a living like I do there is no other knee pad you would want.

I agree on the volleyball kneepads. Let 'em ride low until you need them, and then pull them up. After you get use to them, you don't even know that they are there. The also stabilize the knee and prevent ligament issues. Also use kneeling pads from Lowes They are great for under sink plumbing and outdoor work. They keep the water-weather off you.

best knee pads were the cheapest brand hardshell at Lowes, 23.99. WHY? the single most important thing is to have elastic straps on all straps, the lower elastic strap helps keep the knee pad in place working it upwards. some knee pads just have bands for the bottom strap and elastic strap only on the upper strap. second most important thing, to remember is velcro sucks. really bad. second best was the square knee pads form the yellowtool company who makes really good moneysworth *brand of cordless tools as well. when crawling around all day under trailer homes crawlspaces whatnot, tape the heck out of them keep them in place. good ol duck tape, cheap and reliable.
