Good stuff Wolfman. Small notes, the body mechanic is in numerous MA styles. Marc Denny got it from Pekiti Tersia. He did a seminar on it in NYC that I attended somewhere between 2010 and Covid. Leo Gaje taught his knife/unarmed self defense using his "Tri V" module (angle 1, 2 and a thrust). You can play with it and see if using he main intercepting hand (right arm) in the midpoint of the attackers right forearm. Also, have your center line 45 degrees from the opponents ctr line and the knife attack angle. If you collapse the angle the attacker can just grab you and stab your back like a hug (I hate when that happens). Thank you again.

@@DanTheWolfman do you have a video on how to defend against stick or bolo attack. Here in the Philippines most of the people uses bolo to cut their enemy. Unfortunately there are only few people who practice Kali who knows how to defend it. There are boxers in our country than kali fighters.

@renatoabrigo6965 machete or bolo I'd treat like a knife probably....the stick defense can work but you end up w overhook on that arm you have to know how to keep very tight to body and twist right way to strip and disarm. I have some old vids vs stick. Look up danthewolfman knife or danthewolfman stick see what you find.

Wolfman’s videos always have real attacks. You don’t see that exaggerated bullshit front punch or big stepping stab that other teachers always demonstrate with. Dan’s student is really encouraged to attack him realistically and to his best ability and Dan shows his techniques work.

Great stuff, man. We've pressure tested this and it works 90% of the time as long as you don't stop the action and send the guy to the ground. It's a great motor gross motor skill and will be something your brain uses immediately if you're trained to do this. The 10% this is short-circuited is knowing how to break a Russian tie and make the other guy lose balance such that you've freed the weapon hand. So, the key for us is once you've got the tie, you go to the ground ASAP, no hesitation. Keep up the good work, bro.

Realistically good stuff. This technique works best for me in full contact compared to anything else I've seen and learned. Can this technique also be adapted against an attack in the "ice pick grip"? I have problems with this technique when I get attacked from above with the Ice Pick Grip.

If it is angled yes, if straight down you can go to the outside, or you can stay on the inside and do a stripping block leverage motion with your left hand and forearm

Hi.. Son Tsi here with a comment and then some advice. I like the show! I subscribed. I like your passion for self defense situations and awareness in general. The Chinese hand you’re referring to. It’s called “Quan Sao” and it means TYING and BUNDLING in Chinese. The quan is used just like that in wing chun except one thing. Not on a weapon unfortunately. However I do have a conciliation prize. Here’s how to do that same idea but safer. Instead of using a two on one on his right arm like you did. Nice job by the way. That would work in street fighting but not on a weapon because.. they can pull the weapon back suddenly and defensively, leaving you slashed . So instead. Try winging the right arm with your left, and dropping a massive elbow or open hand hit to the throat. 💥🤛I mean massive power on that sucker. You could try the QUAN SAO if you like. But it generally is used as a transitional movement and not a block. Just stepping in and hitting his throat twice with each hand in succession.. will not only stop his forward motion, it will put him away for a short time.

Try having your friend hold a magic marker .. you try to use that quan sao on the inside of his arm like you did.. I bet you’ll get marked with marker.. I’ve done this drill a million times and every time. The guy trying to block a knife losses big time. You have to assault in the short time you’ll have. 💥🤛💯just trying to help

Sometimes do to rebound you end up in baseball bat to then Russian 2 on 1.shown in next vid..maybe you don't know how to wrestle/grapple on a high level.

PLease do a video where he is actually trying to stab you with protective gear on him. Full out , not hesitating after you move in on him. Like hes going to pull back and slice you or go full stab and move . I dont see those on the internet.
