Im a big fan of the Lange Lumen series. I am a fairly recent collector so missed out on these earlier LEs. Which watch did you need to bundle with your Lumens?
Hi. Love your videos especially when you are pointing out the lack of attention to detail. To me at this price point it is inexcusable. Lange is the cash grab exercise by Richemont for the ultra rich. Mere mortals and true aspiring collectors are not taken into consideration.
Thanks for these interesting details. Lange has been put on a pedestal and I'm afraid bathed in its own hype which has irked collectors. When you take a step back, they all look fairly similar and stern. Beyond the first Datograph which they had to go and ruin with a larger size, I'm not sure I'm interested in anything Richemont sells anymore at the price it asks for.
bundling will not work for a brand like lange.. if people need to bundle, they would go for other brands most of the time. Try as they may, lange is not patek and there is a good chance that lange resale prices trend downwards again. Their staple Lange 191.032 goes for almost 50% off straight out of the boutique. For a model that is equivalent to their "submariner", this is not a reflection of strong branding. The current customers who bundle and support the brand now are only that few, when will they get sick of "losing money"? only time will tell
Funny part is that last time I checked, you now need to bundle for that basic Lange 1. So you lose money once to lose money again. Might as well but it on grey for 40% off retail.
@@watchesinsingapore I was at the Lange boutique about two months ago. I really love the 1815 and the Saxonia Annual Calendar. But the prices just don’t make sense. She openly said if you take the Saxonia Annual Calendar, you could get in line for a WG Odysseus. I guess I will just wait for a really reasonably priced Saxonia AC or 1815 on the resale market and get it polished back to new.. At this point Richemont feels like nothing but a cash grab with their insane price increases without commanding the brand equity.
@@watchesinsingaporealso, I asked about a Zetiwerk out of curiosity and the SA pulled out a platinum piece. She said it can be bought but it was out of my budget and the Zeitwerk is too big for me.
@@UnSaintLike I think at current retail and market prices, you'd lose money on a WG Odysseus. Or the depreciation you'd suffer on the first watch would make it not make sense. Much better idea to get the watch you want at substantial discount from retail (which are also super high right now)
