I'm having a hard time paying attention to this. For some reason Kaiser is looking a lot more... Daddy than normal. Which as a straight guy, suddenly noticing it makes it hard to NOT notice it anymore. So yeah, props to you, you're looking great.

26:22 Fun fact (or most probably not): In the official Swedish translation of the One Piece manga, that was sold in stores, Luffy is actually called "Ruffy". They sadly stopped releasing the manga around vol. 50 or so. It was a really faithful translation of it, with some names being slightly changed. Like Luffy becoming "Ruffy", Coby becoming "Kobi", etc.

It’s good you avoided Secret Invasion because it reeks of heavy rewrites/ reshoots more than most MCU titles. Side note: I always had this voice nagging in the back of my head with Loki Sea.2 and you nailed my frustration very well.

Glad I'm not the only one who struggled with the pacing of Loki season 2. Only Murders in the Building does not get enough love, so I'm glad that was included here. Looking forward to the subsequent videos for what you watched in 2023.

I hung up the MCU after Endgame. It felt like a definitive end for me. I know Guardians 3 was supposed to be amazing. But yeah. I don't have the attachment to the MCU I did before. Where it goes post Endgame is for the next generation of fans.

This title is confusing, i did not know what it meant until i started watching it.

Why the hell is it dorky to cry at that death scene? That just speaks to the strength of the scene and the acting, it was gut-wrenching.

I still can’t believe that Genkai got shafted in the plot. Shame, good acting, good choreography, good set design, but dear sweet Koenma, did the writing feel cut down, I’d trust an abridged series, like Lani’s, to get the point of the characters across better.

You guys should do a discussion on how western filmmakers should handle a live action Dragon Ball. The Dragon Ball franchise in general.

YYH is the most frustrating show for me here since season 1 could’ve legitimately been great if it was a loose adaptation of the earlier arcs. But by trying to squeeze in multiple arcs worth of development in such a small amount of episodes, the series as a whole ends up suffering for it. I def agree with Lani’s suggestion of having the saint beasts be the final baddies and simply teasing Toguro at the end, since what made him such a great villain is how well he was built up throughout the tournament and served as a foil to Yusuke due to his “might makes right” attitude being something that he can relate to, but taken to the extreme. But by just tossing out all that build-up across multiple episodes/chapters and doing Genkai so dirty that it’s almost comical, it causes plenty of this to just fall flat and make it so Yusuke doesn’t really feel like he changes or grows, but just does things because the plot demands it. Like dang, I loved the fight choreography and the darker edge this series had, but it just reeks of corporate meddling due to how much they botched the story for the sake of fanservice. It’s certainly not the wost LA adaptation we’ve gotten, but it could’ve been far better, which ends up making it one of the most frustrating for me.

I don't know if calling a plane crash a "launch pad m'quack" is a real thing but good God it is now but that murdered me!

I walked into Yu Yu Hakusho completely blind, I found it to be a fun ride, but if you asked me just about anything about the plot I'd have a hard time answering you beyond "Sick fight scenes."

I don't know how they're gonna do Chopper, but I have been trying to audition for him! I want to use my massive size and puppetry skills to bring this adorable character to life, but I think they might go for a motion capture performance similar to Seth MacFarland in Ted. But that's just a guess. Oda has stated Chopper will be there!

For me, the best live action series I saw last year was 'Fall of the house of usher', good Lord the poe stories blended together with a cruel chain of tragedy was a sight to behold.

One Piece live action was good enough to make me let go of my apprehensions about the anime, and now I'm well into watching that. No regrets!

Does anyone remember that episode of the old spider man cartoon where a bunch of villains are put on a planet and spider man must pick heroes to help him defeat them? I'd like to see that in a film

My biggest recommendations would absolutely be Our Flag Means Death and Hazbin Hotel I would drop everything to see your takes on them!!!
