Oh wow, glad I found your channel. I remember this car for sale at BMW Laval, 5 min away from me, I’ve was looking for a diesel at the same time too and it was the only one with the digital display and sport transmission for sale at the time. I ended up with a base model ‘18 330i instead because diesel prices in Quebec are iNsAnE! With the 330i I get up to 680 km per tank which is not bad either…Enjoy the car…
@2stepreviews444
@2stepreviews444 Год назад
That is amazing!! You are correct this was the only one on the lot with Sport package 2 (including the digital dash) the 330i is insanely reliable! Good choice! What else do you love about your 330i?

I have a 2014 f30 diesel Luxury Line. Its a cool car. Getting 38 mpg in a car like this is pretty rare. Was getting over 50 mpg but the tune was dealer reset :( . I have the rear wheel version with no X-drive. My third BMW. My last one was a black 325 e36 5 speed coupe.

Thanks for the comment! So glad to hear, we love ours, seeing over 1000 Kms on a tank is so satisfying, especially in a car that looks the way it does. ;) which tune did you have? Any recommendations for myself or any viewers?
@denimlabels7315
@denimlabels7315 Месяц назад
@@2stepreviews444 The tune was on the car when I purchased it with 68k. I also removed most of the plastic under the car because I had a gasket fail and the oil was just pooling on the lower cover. No CEL either. It was a gasket fail on the oil cooler. So safe to say the covers reduce air drag but not a good idea if you cant discover a leak before something breaks. Have also been looking at the 2015-2017 X3 Diesels. A luxury car suv that gets about the same mileage!

Hey there. I have a 2014 328d xdrive. Like it so much I recently bought a 2018 328D xdrive with very low mileage. I figured I needed to get another while used ones can be found with low miles. Did you ever do anything with the exhaust rear end look? It bugs me too!
@2stepreviews444
@2stepreviews444 Год назад
Hey Rick! Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment, I hate the rear end look as well, I have the M tech exhaust tips. Waiting to see if I want dual exhaust or single still.. that way I can get a diffuser. There are tons of sites out there that sell the rear diffuser for single outlet like ours. You should check them out! Much more aggressive looking. Let me know if that’s the route you decide !

Hey thanks for comment, MPG wise very very similar on paper, even thought the BMW has AWD. I would say in a real world test, the golf would probably get better numbers. My 15 Jetta S TDI 6 speed get better MPG undeleted.

@@2stepreviews444 I got mine with some dpf issues but just had to reset them, it had motor replacement as well from timing chain failure. If u are keeping the system in tact the kerma tdi tune with trans tune package looks killer, but I’m leaning towards full delete as dpf will eventually go out. 153k miles on car. Vast majority of people don't understand that the Japanese have solved just one problem. Or to put it another way they design cars with only a single functional requirement: reliability. At the expense of everything else. To me that's not a selling point nor is it by any means genius. Even things like the basics, e.g. interior design, they are absolutely shit at. The Germans, especially if you are tall, like I am, are the only game in town when it comes to good interior design. It's not for the lack of trying either. Toyota has been trying to copy BMW for decades. Eventually they caved and just outsourced the job to BMW (on the Supra). Our Audi TDI has cost us nothing in the 3 years now that we've owned. It came with a bunch of service credits, which we use for annual servicing, because of dieselgate but it has exhibited no issues. Actually no there was a oxygen sensor (warranty repair; free) and glow plug replacement (also free). In three years two minor parts. There is a problem in North America though that I think could be fixed. That is price gouging on european cars. They are deemed luxury but are also the largest collection of car companies in the world. VW might be the largest actually. Problem is likely just gouging rather than supply. Anyway just my two cents. We have a brand new A4 now and are just waiting to put an order in for the new 2024 Mercedes E class plugin hybrid. Love BMW though. My first ever car and still best driving car I've ever tried.

Thank you for the comment, I agree, this car has costed us nothing in maintenance in over 2 years. We also have a 15’ Jetta TDI and that car is an absolute tank. 1200kms to a tank. The only thing that costs more money is of course the oil changes bc of the fuel filters. But to be honest I’m okay with it, sometimes it’s not for everybody but I believe that these diesels are insanely reliable and I love that. I chose the BMW because it checked my boxes, looks good, reliable, good MPG. The only issue is that the trunk is a little small. I love Toyota because they know who they are and they’ve built their brand around that. Would love a new Tundra! Thanks for the comment Screaming-Tree!

@@2stepreviews444 Diesel just makes sense. Thermodynamics etc it is more efficient. There is more energy in a liter of diesel. Can convert it to biodiesel without really doing anything at all. Basically it works out of the box. And so on and so forth. Lots of features make it a better choice than petrol. Our little A3 TDI is almost as good as your Jetta but driving around in BC is a little bit more challenging. E.g. To get to the first major city we need to cross a mile high summit over the mountains. Your fuel economy will suffer a bit more doing stuff like that. In a couple of years it is going to be time to upgrade it though and I have no idea what we're going to do. You basically can't buy any new diesels from anyone anymore. All signs point to the new Mercedes E class hybrid basically. A kind of middle ground that would fit our driving patterns. Can do the weekly commute on electricity all year round and when we want to go on a road trip we're set. Just fill it up with fuel and go. But again, probably no diesel option sadly. Toyota is fine. I've tried Japanese cars before. They're not for me. Mostly interior design issues and there is no selling point other than reliability long term. Which isn't a selling point for me. Especially these days with tech in cars. Even just a few years from now you'll be seeing massive leaps in all kinds of features. You're going to want to get into a new car just because of tech. As an aside we had the option to buy a 2018 BMW 328d but ended up with the A3 tdi instead mostly due to timing issues. But I would have loved to have snagged the BMW personally. It's a bit more refined choice. Now they're getting rarer and rarer sadly. Harder to find. Good to see you're enjoying yours. :)

@@Screaming-Trees it is becoming a difficult time for those who love diesels. We love the 328D just because of how it performs/tech and overall drive ability. But you are correct, it doesn’t not take much for me to have to convert to bio-diesel.. however I’m just trying to think of anything that would be as robust as a diesel. In Europe Mercedes had released a diesel hybrid.. absolutely insane.
