The 2014 /2015/2016/2017/2018 BMW 3 Series is a well-rounded and highly desirable entry-level luxury car. I really enjoy this car. I get up to 59 mpg in 8th gear when coasting over long stretches of freeway (with careful driving). While that is not typical, it's impressive nonetheless and beats a Prius. Thy really nailed this diesel. It feels solid.
BMW introduced a brand-new engine for 2014, and if your heart bleeds for mpg, you're probably going to like this 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder diesel. Rated at 180 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, this engine is extremely efficient.
I also like that oil change intervals are 20,000 to 30,000 miles for this type of Diesel engine. It's just built to last longer. This car has 96K miles and is barely broken in.
