Tommy Casanova and Jerry Stovall were the original DBU guys. They both had outstanding college and pro careers. Casanova is the only LSU player to be named All-American 3 times and Stovall was the runner up for the Heismann Throphy. Don’t forget about all the great players in the last century.
You gotta make a top 50 list. Its too Many other great players that got left out: Kevin Mawae OL (Pro Footbal HOF)!!!!!!! Josh Reed WR (Biletnikoff Award winner) Tradavious White DB aka T. White Dalton Hilliard RB Darrius Guice RB Justin Jefferson WR Jamar Chase WR (Biletnikoff Award winner) LeRon Landry DB (2ND HARDEST HITTING SAFETY IN LSU HISTORY) Michael Clayton WR Dominic Davis RB Rohan Davey QB JaMarcus Russell QB Ruben Randle WR Michael Brockers DL Sam Montogmery DL Marquise Hill DL Devin White LB (Butkus Award Winner) Tyson Jackson DL Chad Lavalais DL Eddie Kennison WR La'el Collins OL Charles Alexander RB Devery Henderson WR Corey Webster DB Tommy Hodson QB Grant Delpit DB (Thrope Award Wimmer) Andrew Whitworth OL Bret Jones QB Craig Steltz (HARDEST HITTING SAFETY IN LSU HISTORY) Jim Taylor RB (Pro Football HOF) Joseph Addai RB Dewayne Bowe WR Demetrius Byrd WR Chuck Wiley DL Kyle Williams DL David LaFluer TE Chad Jones DB Greedy Williams DB Ben Wilkerson OL (Remington Award Winner) I can keep going if you like....
Lots of great players! I would have put them in a different order. No way Joe Burrow is that far down. Too dominant. Even in the Heisman Trophy voting. Should make a top 50 or 100! Too many great players!
@@NetQube I'll go ahead and say 1 is honey badger. 2 is burrow. 3 is Peterson. If we are going solely off of college career. Honey badger deserved the hiesman 2 years straight and got shafted.
How can you not have Tommy Casanova? He played both ways, he is the only 3-time All-American in LSU football history, and he had a great career in the NFL with the Bengals.
I’ve been a life long Texas fan that just got excepted into LSU(online degree, but they are strict on requirements), so I’ve been trying to learn all about the history
This list is lil iffy ngl but still glad to see a list like this for LSU players.Still tho, Josh reed and Tommy Casanova huge misses. I’d honestly have to make it at least like 25-30 personally. Mingo, tredavious white, Kevin minter, devin white, Jefferson, chase, guice, Cecil Collins, Copeland, jalen mills, Kendall beckwith, Arden key, greedy Williams, jalen mills, plus those mentioned in this list. That’s off the top of my head tho I’m sure I’m forgetting ab some great players.
I gotta disagree with Burrow’s placement on this list. I would say his one great season meant more than nearly an entire career by some of the other players. And I’m an old school LSU fan saying that
@@mistadavis4336 how is it whack, it’s an honor for these players they work for that jersey and there accomplishments are recognized by being given those jerseys
@@mistadavis4336 they are but they’re also part of that LSU tradition, I’ve never been the biggest Les Miles fan and even less of one now after all the drama he’s caused to the school and how his inappropriate behavior has bothered people so much, but these kids work for that number scouts always know to watch for number 7 and 18 when they come to watch LSU
I mean i would put burrow at 3 or 4 u could argue fournette or him at three. I agree that 7 is crap but Matthieu was a heisman finalist as a defensive player. Patrick Peterson is probably so far up because of his return skills as well as honey badger. There could be an argument to put tyrann at one bc of his insane heisman finalist as a d player. Burrow is the best qb of all time though. It’s a very controversial topic
I agree. I understand he had one good season at LSU but we all know what he did in that one season. I put him at 3 or 4 u could argue fournette or him at three
Joe Burrow not number 1? I don't give a crap if he only played two seasons. The dude made every LSU QB before him look mediocre and QB is the most important position on the field. He's number 1 by a school bus.
Bro, this video should be banned from RU-vid, and this guy obviously doesn't know lsu football. He basically just named current players whose names he heard watching games, and asked real lsu fans for a few older players' names so people would think he actually knows what hes talking about
I have a Devin white signed mini helmet. One of the fastest LBs I’ve seen before, won Butkus, packed a punch on his hits, great pass rusher, oh and I almost forgot he went 5th overall in the draft
I don't have nooooo problem with Peterson at no 1..... he the only player I ever seen talk Cam Newton by his self in college .He was a Monster of a Db the best I've ever seen in College
@@brettjones8918 tyrann was good but Peterson was a different monster.... he traveled (followed other team best wr everywhere from slot to wide out ) while he was in college .... that's un heard of.... he was better then stingley ... Peterson was different.... anybody in the know.... knows that.... Tyran was little and stayed suspended before getting kicked of the team and even he was there was never considered the best defender...he was a high energy guy and a great return man..Period!
@@Jerry823Coates both were up for the hiesman. I'm not denying Peterson. As a life long LSU fan I've seen all their games at LSU. With that being said. I'd take the guy who can put points on the board and have crazy amounts of turnovers in his 2 years than the guy who shut down the number 1 every game. Peterson is by far the best shutdown corner we have ever had but tyrann was by far the best game changer. Dude would force fumbles and recover it. Return punts like crazy. Get picks to. Guy had hands. Grabbing tipped balls not even the goats could catch.
@@Jerry823Coates I also didn't agree with les pulling his scholarships over failed weed tests. You saw it in the championship game. Without tyrann we lost to Bama. He would have most likely had a game changing turnover
@@brettjones8918 you know Peterson was a return specialist too right?... and he wasn't just a shutdown corner... he was a rover... he use to blitz alot too... I don't think you understand how great pat Peterson was ... he tackled cam by his self multiple times. I ain't see one other player do that in college especially a corner back
Not the best 15 but I guess this would be hard. So much players to think about. One player I would for sure take out of here is Reid. He was a beast but not top 15. Would prolly say laron Landry & Ryan Clark were better than him
@@TheRealQb1 maybe not better but on his level. I can’t believe how underrated he is bc he played with fournette but 2017 he took the reigns and blew up idk where guice is but he’s top 8
God loves you and I do too and he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sin.Give your life to Jesus before it’s to late. Jesus he is the way,the truth the light, and the life .If you want to know how reply with how
Agreed what happens after should have no bearing on what type of player they were in college. And it factually and actually didn’t, having said that dude above is right. Faulk was a huge piece of those early Patriot teams and was team captain. To act like he didn’t do anything in the pros bc he wasn’t Adrian Peterson is fucking stupid as shit
Lots of great players, but I highly disagree with the order. There are some others that should be on the list, and they'd be pretty high up there too. Josh Reed, Booger Mcfarland, Bert Jones, Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Kevin Mawae, Kyle Williams, Andrew Whitworth, Tommy Casanova, and Bradie James are all names that I can think of off the top of my head have an argument to be up there. Jamal Adams, Mo Claiborne, Eric Reid, and Marcus Spears should not be on this list. OBJ and Jarvis are only maybes on the list. They were good, but they weren't unstoppable like Chase and Jefferson.
