Made it to 60 wearing almost no makeup. Recently took a new interest in my appearance. I’ve been working out diligently again and started experimenting with makeup. Best find for me in 2023 was discovering Nikki and her channel 🙌🏼 no one else in the makeup tutorial and review videos compares to her! She is such a beauty inside and out and really knows her craft. It is such a joy to watch and learn from her, truly. As a person who wears a mostly minimal style type of makeup, i absolutely loooooove the danessa myricks groundworks palette! It actually makes me want to break out of my comfort zone and try different eye looks! And I was so curious about her metallic one. I think your review is convincing me to try that one too! Favourite eyeshadow launch was definitely the Surratt Soufflé Eyeshadows. Beautiful desaturated colours and they last for ages and can be sheer wash or built up.

What should of been included, that you missed in this video, was the release of YOUR BRUSHES!!! They were hands down my favorite "makeup product/accessory" purchase of 2023! They have been a game changer for me. I didn't have "cheap" brushes before but there is something so special about your brush set. It is all I need! They were so well thought out. Fabulous list of your favorites! This year, I tried more skin tints, and HourGlass and Danessa Myricks had my favorites. I also loved Danessa Myricks balm powder flushed (Rose and brunch & jubilee), Hermes bronzer (Sienna), Haus Labs blush (all shades), Huda’s pink loose powder, Caliray Setting Spray, Kulfi concealer, HourGlass’ snake palette, and Victoria Beckham’s eyeliner in smoky quartz (not sure when it was released, but it’s the perfect bronze shade). Patrick Ta’s all matte palette, Natasha Denona’s Yucca (such a refreshing offering of color), and Dame PMG’s bronze quad Venusian sunrise. I also loved her bronzer (Desert Glow and Bronze Mahogany).

TYSVM for the GXVE lip gloss recommendation; I’m definitely a Gen X gal and love a thick gloss specifically BECAUSE they typically stay on forever. It’s been the bane of my existence that all of the thin, runny, serum-y glosses last for literally 2 seconds and then I need to reapply. I’ll definitely be stocking up on those. I discovered the new Rose Inc Softlight Skin Smoothing foundation and not only did they have a medium cool toned shade which no one has, but the foundation is beautiful and you need very little of it for amazing coverage. I just picked up the MAKE powder you mentioned. Sounds perfect for what I've been searching for. My favorite new launch of 2023 was the Flower Knows Little Angel line of eye shadows, blushes, etc. I only got those 2 things, but both are absolutely lovely products. The packaging is the biggest wow factor, but thankfully the products wind up being quite good. This line was definitely needed, because their earlier releases didn't have enough diversity of shades nor color saturation to fit darker skin tones.

I love equally the Dior backstage and the Fenty stick but I urge you to try the Guerlain Terracotta Le Teint foundation, it’s out of this world! I’m 60 with normal to dryish skin and this foundation makes my skin look naturally perfect ❤

I’ve tried several Rare Beauty products because of you and, so far, love them. The eye brightening concealer is right up my alley. Natural, not heavy and of course brightening. 50 y/o here so I have to be careful with make up or else I will look older. Less is always more, plus getting the right product helps a lot. Happy New Years Nikki ! Your eyebrows look so pretty! They look a bit different, but so pretty. I purchased Huda Beauty One Coat WOW mascara, it’s horrible 😢such a wet formula and so hard to work with. It for sure doesn’t give me length, yet does give volume, yet gets so clumpy and flakes. I am so flustered with trying to make it work. I know and understand that not every product works great one each individual. I for sure am going to try the cyclone foundation, tower 28 concealer and their mascara. Thank you for bringing to us you 2023 faves.

Love your videos and your calm teaching style! Can you pleeeease do a short video on how to do makeup to conceal milia? Especially milia that is right on the outer upper cheekbone close to the eye… it’s literally where highlighter and blush go, and those really emphasize the bumps. Are we doomed to doing makeup without those two things 😢

I started following your advice and now instead of baking, I just dust a little of loose powder to set my concealer. life changing! My under eyes do not look cakey/crusty any longer.

You absolutely have to try, Maxine’s Revenge!! You must! It’s concealer and she’s brand new so shade range is limited. However, the FORMULA IS OUTSTANDING! Especially for mature skin. I got the neutral med shade and use it all over. It’s AMAZING!
