If you figure that there is a finite limit to the quantity of swords each smith can produce in a month, and its like 3, and that there is at least 20 hours of hand labor involved before quenching... I would be a little stressed out myself.

Especially so seen as he was just "doing it for a hobby and the adrenaline" and was actually just a truck mechanic from Grimsby. Finally got it out of his system in 2017 when he had that last crash and his daughter was born, really makes you lower your calculated risk of death/do it anyway percentages from experience!

It's a bit of a stretch that Kamikaze pilots found it an honor to fly into the enemy targets. Read Horror in the East for a better account.. But in short.. for most, they weren't really enthusiastic about the idea. They were just peer pressured into doing it, to avoid bringing shame to their family. When asked to volunteer for Kamikaze missions, they were offered 3 choices.. No / Yes/ Yes, I volunteer with all my heart. Anything less then Yes, I volunteer with all my heart would result in them being treated as scum by everybody who met em. The shame would be unbearable so they all said Yes, I volunteer with all my heart... Despite feeling the opposite.

It increased their range, but tactically it's throwing scarce materials away, they knew they had lost as soon as the Americans came back in force, the move on Pearl Harbour was only to keep the Americans out for 6 months while they fortified their positions.

I thought there was no such thing as a micro pig. They're gonna be huge.
@harold926
@harold926 4 года назад
that is correct its sad thinking about all those pigs getting adopted as pets with their owners thinking they will stay that size forever. Their size once matured is however very dependend on their diet but even if you feed them really well no snacks or treats and only really healthy stuff they will still be the size of a medium sized dog that will grow to the height of your knees

Not to be a party pooper. But I've read of some accounts saying the Japanese already surrendered before the bombs were launched. The US just saw Japan as a good chance to see what Atom bombs can do.
@2SpaceTraveller2
@2SpaceTraveller2 4 года назад
I cannot tell when the Japanese surrendered. The fact is the bombs were essentially dropped for testing and political purposes. Russia was already in Manchuria and te US gov. did not wish the Russian to have a too important part in the talk with the Japanese after the end of the war. Another reason to drop the bombs was to show the Russian they have the nuclear bomb and to intimidate them. However some sources say the two bombs were German bomb caught on a submarine transporting advanced material to Japan. The U-Boat has been captured in the Northern part of the Canadian coasts. The story says each US soldier taking part to the transfer of material and prisoners had to keep silent, if not they would be executed. Hopefully, the truth will one day come out!

Mmmm they dropped the Nukes Because they could not beat them on the ground or air They played the dirty. It wasn’t because of prisoners of war that’s just war.
@Thighweaver
@Thighweaver 4 года назад
He was making a point that even when the Americans where closing in on the main land, bombing Tokyo and other cities every night, Japanese were not backing down and would have fought to every last man, woman and child. Showing the POW camps was a way of that even while losing and they have been losing since the Battle of Midway they still fought absolutely. The logic is that using the nukes would break the moral and fighting spirit of the Japanese and put pressure on the Emperor basically saying look we don't even have to land troops to obliterate this nation and you cannot touch us while preventing tens of thousands more American and soon to be allied deaths joining in off the European front. I do not think this still justifies the actions of the US but I understand that logic. If they didn't thw war wouldve lasted for years as marines and army drudge through village to village to city to city fighting as hard as they did in the islands to the south I don't think we would have a Japan or east Asia like we know it today if that was the case. History is a weird thing though. Only go off the evidence and accounts we have. Sucks that it took two atomic bombs on civilian cities to force Japanese surrender but I truly do not think they wouldve surrendered otherwise. It is still a debate today about the ethics of the decision and makes for a great social expirement for generations to come when speaking about ethics, war, human cost and morality.
