Best Mouse Trap Ever - Mice Trap Catches dozens of mice alive without having to reset trap

Just in case you ever run into mice ... here is a simple and ingenious solution. I had to store some stuff in a garage recently and to make sure it is mice free, I installed this trap in there for a few days before I moved in my stuff.
The beauty about this trap is that you don't have to reset it after you catch every mouse. You can catch half a bucket worth of mice before you have to reset it. Should you want to catch and release the mice, then don't add any water to the bucket. If you don't care or cannot deal with live mice, then add 1-2 gallons of water to the bucket.
Enjoy, and I hope you never need to use this :).

They can sometimes jump out of an empty 5 gallon bucket. I put in a 1 inch layer of shredded paper in the bucket to give them very poor footing for jumping and also a place for them to hide and not feel so necessary to escape. Great trap and video.

We have rats in our sheds right now and you can bet I will be adding water to that bucket. I would not relish the idea of trying to figure out how to deal with a bucket half or three quarters full of angry rats. Though to be fair and somewhat humane I shall be writing a warning on the bucket letting the rats know that eating the peanut butter and falling into the water may cause injury and or death.

Mach Fiver Glue boards may be effective, as well. If placed properly, the mice should become caught in the glue and unable to free themselves. Ultimately, the mice die of hypothermia.

i tried the water trap with cable threaded through two pop bottles and peanut butter smeared in the centre. Caught 10-11 of them on first night 8 on the second. Third night after hearing a sploosh or two I went and had a look saw one in mid pb nibbles, scared it so much it fell in too. There were four of them in there. Two of them were pretty fucked doing slow somersaults from the bottom to air to bottom. After seeing that I felt awful about their last moments and thought here's a mercy grab a stick and hold the last two under make it quicker. That was a bad idea. They one, refused to wait inline to be drowned and two, immediately went from doe-eyed poor creatures to squinty eyed and dodgy toothed killers as they quickly attempted to scale the stick. Well I shit myself and shuddered as they thankfully pulled each other off the pole and went swimming again before they reached my hand to reap vengeance upon it. Fuck it, they'll have to suffer I thought. I did remove the ramp and stayed till the last two died. They don't have a lot of stamina and tire out after about 3-4 mins before doing the sleepy eyed slo-mo somersault thing. Which resembles some macabre dream sequence. That goes on for about a minute or so. I let them soak for about an hour, in case they were faking it, demonic bastards. Thank fuck I didn't catch a badger I'd have likely been maimed or killed. Terrifying alive but awesome as a shaving brush. I no longer use the trap, and either I got them all or they fucked off to glue traps and steel ones over the pool of death. I care not which

I have to say. Genius design, its so simple. Now I realized how it works by tilting dropping the mouse into the bucket but how will it stay? Couldn't the mouse bite its way out of the bucket? He did say one thing is you could catch a lot with the trap. Just wondering how could it stay without harming or killing it? but I would recommend in someway is just to release it somewhere far from your home in hopes for it not to come back.

Add cooking oil, or mineral oil to the bucket, they won.t get the grip to climb out and makes them heavier to jump.

Mice can tread water for three days straight, According to National Geographic... So I'm not sure how water could kill them
@BourneAccident
@BourneAccident 8 лет назад
+Lane Strange - I think it's rats that they say can tread water for 3 days, but I can tell you for sure they are generally wrong. I had two rats fall in an empty flower pot that had rain water in it and they died within a day and mice and voles drown in just a few hours. They fall in my inground pool and I find dead mice in there almost every morning in the summer. I made a ramp for them to escape last year, but not all of them found the ramp including a baby rabbit. Poor thing.

+mangle the pirate fox do you have mice at home? if you haven't seen any, you may have a hungrier snake than the ones you've seen. I guess your afraid of snakes, many people are. Have a friend that's not? Garden snakes are harmless, have that person just catch them, put snakes in pillow case. Them take them for a short ride, and turn them loose
