Don't Look Up, Snowpiercer, An Inconvenient Truth, and many more films depict the increasing devastation of climate change. Which is your favorite? The collection is based by RACHEL JOHNSON from MovieWeb.
None of these films is about global warming proper, with maybe the exception of Soylent Green, which has proven wrong (NYC is not growing into a Calcutta-like slum but rather a gated city for rich only) and anyway is more a political film that should have been set more realistically in today's Gaza and where insufferable climate is actually a weapon. Don't look up instead of describing the temperatures that suddenly go into abrupt rise prefers to deflect attention to an asteroid collision as a supposed symbol. This lack of inspiration from climate change to derive catastrophe films tells that this is not the main danger awaiting humanity. Don't believe any film that talks of interstellar travel as essential for its intrigue : we are now nowhere near the mastery of any means of long-distance human travel beyond low Earth orbit, the readiation problem beyond it is not solved. Zombie apocalypse though caricaturesque on screen are nearer the reality : whole populations are transforming into zombies thanks to media.
