I loved this laugh as a little kid and still do. No other cartoon character has a laugh like Muttley. He always got laughs at Dastardly's expense. Muttley, I love you. Keep on laughing.
Late comment, but I laugh exactly like this! I was cracking up earlier and my kids started making fun of my laugh 🫣 I said it was my Muttley laugh, and of course, they had no idea what I meant. So here I am down this rabbit hole!
When my brother was going through boot camp back in '71, he caught a really bad cold. As a result, he wheezed when he laughed. After a while, everyone started to call him Private Muttley, including the drill sergeant during formation.
Somewhere around age 25 I couldnt cause enough friction in my epiglottis (what keeps food & drink from entering your trachea) to snicker like Muttley anymore. But three cheers to Muttley, to Don Messick, & to Paul Winchell. Also to Muttley's creator, the honorable Iwao Takamoto. Our childhood would've been insufferably poorer without them! I was called Muttley because I could do a mean Muttley snicker. There was this radio station that had the Muttley snicker; a lot of my coworkers thought I did the Muttley snicker on that station
My husband was laughing exactly like this when he was switching lanes back and forth when his family was following him in a vehicle. So I had to look it up! Freakin best laugh in the world!!!!

I have never watched this show in my life but once i went out of my way to search him laughing up and screen record it, crop it, and send it to my friends as a reaction to something. Their reaction made it seem like they thought i was crazy but like this is so funny? Idk how i even knew it existed, probably a commercial on boomerang or something but its so relatable and such a classic part of pop culture

Mutley is to live. It was a blast growing up dying laughing at these shows in the 60's. Sat morning cartoons. My slightly older brother and I were locked in; that plus collecting football, baseball other cards as well as playing sports Too cool.
My wife laughs EXACTLY like this. Showed her and our daughter just now. My wife says “not”. My daughter and I are in stitches cuz YES!!! She does sound like him😂
Muttley always has this mischievous grin even while listening to his owner's plans, then he would for no real reason the camera would get a closer shot of his face and he would do that wheezy chuckle to us like we're sharing an inside joke. So for me that always changed the context of the way he listens to his boss with that grin, like he's really saying to himself and to us "OK what will this guy think of next, yeah I'm all ears this gunna be good lol"
All my three kids are down with measles but still messing around. They're laughing like Muttley so showed this to my wife (who hasn't watched this cartoon before) and we laughed so much.

I laugh exactly like Muttley. I have a very wheezy laugh and sometimes if I am laughing hard enough I will giggle snort really loud in the middle of my wheezy laugh fits.
Was on a job site in Melbourne Australia and the union rep on site(shop steward) had a moustache exactly the same as Dick Darstardly….he had an offside who followed him everywhere….we called him Muttley and would always do the laugh when he wasn’t able to see who it was….fkn funny
