Fun Fact: The animators HATED Slowpoke Rodriguez because he required significantly more frames of animation than Speedy Gonzales. Fast characters are easier to animate than slow characters. Slowpoke wasn’t in a lot of cartoons for this reason.
I saw this cartoon in a long hour special broadcasted on HBO when I was about 14 years old in the mid to late 90's, spanish is my birth language and I couldn't belive my ears when I heard the lyrics of the "la cucaracha" rendition slowpoke sings, he actually says: "the cockroach the cockroach, she can't walk no more, for she hasn't... for she lacks weed to smoke"

I vividly remember watching and loving this specific episode. Slowpoke was a way under-rated hidden gem of the LT family. Any child of the 70s and 80s knows the excitement/anticipation waiting for Saturday morning cartoons and the genuine happiness it brought to your day. But they said these kinds of cartoons promote violence and other bad behaviors yet its not my generation that's shooting up schools and shit. When they cut Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry (among other greats) good cartoons died.
