@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Good afternoon, I wanted to ask this question about the shelf life of UK 3.0. Generally, I would say use it up to a month after opening the bottle to be sure you’ll get the best performance and user experience with it, and I’d also say that if you store it in a cool dry shaded area it will be most likely still be fine a few months after the expiration date. Will it still work beyond that? Chances are yes, but it may effect the user experience making it a bit more difficult, and it may also effect the performance.

Would be interesting to see how easy these compounds are to use in a very warm-humid environment. I'm a bit of a Scholl Concepts fan boy but it seems people are getting really nice results from the Rupes and their work times seem really nice. My working environment is warm and very humid so i really love these oily and lubricated compounds....some of the "chalky" compounds tend to flash and dry before my set is done and the lubrication goes when that happens. I learned from you its really important to judge the product for your work environment because they all act differently on the conditions etc.

Nice work very informative 👍 I have been turning in my sleep weather to buy rupes, last cut ,3D one or even Koch chemie! I am currently using menzerna 400 for heavy cut and menzerna 4000 scholls A15 and scholls s20 for medium cut! I haven’t been disappointed in menzerna really great product and yes expect for s20 for medium cut ! Scholls has bean abit of a let down really. for overall compared to menzerna I have ordered some Koch but I think I will get the rupes even at the premium price it is! For me as a Enthusiast first and a buisness owner second! Time and Quality I think rupes is the best option!

Everyone has already said everything I wanted to. My only comment is on the Rupes DA Coarse compound and how it's dusting is such a let down and deciding factor for me. Today's compounds and polishes are so advanced in their application, working time, low/no dust, sun friendly, and easy wipe off that a high dusting compound/polish in today's soft and thin clear coats is not good enough and is a major deciding factor for most. Again, thank you for this amazing informative video. Be safe.

Sandro great comparison . I would like see the Rupes compound used with their inew blue foam and or wool pads since they have been designed to use together. They may have done better as a combination. I know that TLC doesn't make their own pads but Scholl does make their own pads. I not sure if Scholl designed theri pads with this compunda at the same time. I Loved the full fairness and detail of this review. Jason Rose at Rupes Academy recommends 3-4 on machine speed and foam and wools they say finishes out the best.

Well, another very impressive and attention to detail video Sandro. The only problem for me is that just when I thought I had it worked out as far as the best Compound to have, you then show us a new evolution of the breed. I have used TLC and loved it. I also love S20 Black. But obviously, the new TLC+ has that extra bite that I would have liked when I used it on my very hard Astra paint. So does the original TLC have a slight edge with finish compared to the TLC+???? Because I could not really separate S20 & TLC for their great finish on my hard paint. Given that they are all very good and similar, for me, it would be S2 Black based only on its cost/value. Just out of curiousity, what resolution did you film in??? Just my 720p Computer doesn't quite let me see the white paint results that well. Thanks again Sandro. Well done
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
Thanks mate, and you may not see a difference on hard paints, but on medium to softer paints I did personally tend to get a better finish with TLC+ compared to TLC, and S20 unquestionably finishes better on medium to softer paints. The video was filmed in both 4K and Full HD.

One thing that seems to be true is that individual preference, approach, and style plays a significant factor when pairing up with a set of abrasives liquids. From there it's learning how to "dance" with them. It's a fun process, somewhat frustrating, a bit costly, but in the end satisfying.

I’d tend to agree about the backing foam not being as durable as it should and I’ve actually mentioned this in a past video. But the best thing you can do is work with about 3 pads at a time and swap them out frequently to allow them to cool as heat seems to be the main reason that kills the backing foam. But I love those pads so much that I just deal with it, but I do wish Rupes would address it!

Hi Sandro! I’m sorry to continue to bother you with comments this week, but I’ve been struggling with something and wanted to ask a quick question. Overall, I have had very good luck with finishing from Rupes’ DA Fine on all but the softest of paint systems, and of course Nv Finesse as well..it is about as perfect as it gets imo besides the dusting. I have not had good luck at all with Rupes’ UNO Pure, however. No matter what combination of pad/polish/speed/pressure/etc I try, I cannot get it to finish down 100% on any paint system at all. After a Throwback or Clarity wipedown, I will always still have some scattered DA haze left behind from the UNO Pure step, because they weren’t apparent in the previous cutting step. Have you had good results with Pure? Do you have any tips? I really want to figure it out, but I’m highly frustrated.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
No, I’m probably the same as you in that regard. A lot of these super fine usually non diminishing polishes like Uno Pure, Scholl S40 and Shine Supply Classic finish usually don’t finish as well for me 90+% of the time. There seems to be more rare cases on some paints where they do work extremely well but that’s more of a rarity rather than the norm. I guess what I’d also say is that I do tend to have better success with them on rotates rather than DAs and also when using extremely small amounts of product on my pads and at lower machine speeds. Personally I just keep them as trouble shooting polishes and don’t really tend to grab them unless my usual polishes just aren’t working.
@JordanWells
@JordanWells 3 года назад
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Funny you mention S40 and Classic Finish as I have had the same exact issues with them as well. I am yet to try Pure on rotary or gear driven, but I have just had the worst experience with it from a finishing standpoint on a Random orbital every time I’ve tried it. I hate that but I am glad to know I’m not alone. Classic Polish is much better than Finish, but you do have to work it a very long time in my experience which is not always enjoyable for me. Finesse is about as perfect as it gets imo, I just wish it dusted less! Thanks for your time Sandro. I will try and leave you alone and just enjoy the videos 😂

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing They did, Classic Finish Plus! I actually just received it yesterday and tried it, and sadly it didn’t seem to perform much better than the original. However, I only tried it on a single panel so it’s hardly a fair comparison. Ended up cycling out Classic Polish on an Orange HDO but it took a very long time to cycle down, with a pad blowout in between which is quite annoying to me..I like a quick finisher if possible. It’s actually the LHR15 with the original backing plate not the 21. But I’m personally not a fan of switching backing plate sizes as it makes the machine run rough because DA polishers have specific counter weights set up for specific sized backing plates and rotational throws.

In my experience Chop Top cuts very well and potentially to a similar level but I don’t feel it finishes quite as good as these overall. FCC on the other hand tends to finish very well but I don’t think it has the same level of cut. I’m no authority on those compounds but that would be my assumptions based on my limited use of them.

Sandro - I have been using both UltraCut and TLC+ a lot lately and I absolutely love both. Having played with the 2-3 main polishes from Shine Supply, how do you think they (Classic Cut / Flat Top / Chop Top) are in comparison to UltraCut and TLC+? I see many raving about Flat Top, but in my experience it is only very effective cut-wise in extremely small sections, and although it works quickly, I feel like I end up taking longer overall due to having to work such small sections and re-do areas if I work too large of a section. I’m sure you have a lot in the works, but I would *love* to see some of the Shine Supply polishes compared to TLC+/UltraCut/S2 Black etc
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
Just like you I know a few detailers that absolutely love Shine Supply compounds, but for be personally I think both Classic Cut and Classic Polish are the ones that I’ve had the best success with and I actually like them a lot. I’ve not personally have the same success with Flat Top and Chop top which are more closely matched to Ultracut and TLC+ in terms of levelling abilities. I find I don’t get as much cut or as good a finish but maybe that’s just due to my style of paint correction - we are all different 🙂
@JordanWells
@JordanWells 3 года назад
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you for the reply! I completely understand and agree - Classic Cut & Classic Polish are my favorites, Flat Top and Chop Top seem to let me down more often than not. Wanted to ask one more thing - when it comes to leveling abilities in UltraCut, S2 Black, and TLC+, I have found S2 Black to be rather weak compared to the two the more that I play with them all (even trying to tweak my approach), but I know that is not the experience you’ve had. On moderate to harder clears, do you find microfiber or wool to be more aggressive? Big fan of both LC Low Lint Lambswool and LC MF, usually I will break out a rotary for super hard clear coats but still curious
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
It really depends on the specific pad for me. I’d say the Lake County SDO LL pad is the fastest cutting pad I’ve used, though it’s not all that smooth on DAs but nicer of rotaries. The HDO LL wool pad is much nicer and more comfortable to work with but not quite as aggressive at cutting harder paints. Apart from those wool pads I’d say on a DA both the LC and Meguiars microfibre cutting pads are the next best defect levelling pads and should also finish much better, but the Meguiars just suffers from excess heat much more than the LC ones.

@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 года назад
I think ACA 500 is closer to S2C - both cut extremely well but don’t have the best finishing abilities or user experience experience, so if cut is all you’re interested in them maybe those two are a better choice. They are both good polishers! What I would say personally, is if you get the Rupes, it might be worth doing the washer mod or getting the Kamikaze or Shine Supply backing plates for it, as it helps it spin more freely with less stall. If you get the Flex, just stick to using it with the 5” backing plate as it struggles and just stalls too much with the 6” plate and larger pads in my experience. There will be some more polishers from some brands coming out very soon, so it’s up to you if you want to wait and if you’re not in a hurry, but that’s all I can say 🙂

You can really use any of them on gel coats (which what boats are clear coated with). Gel coats tend to be harder than car clear coats and tend to mostly suffer from oxidation, so a wool pad and rotary polisher would generally be a good option for your cutting stage with a heavy cut compound.
