yes, but as an artist you have to trust your own instincts too. if Nate followed all of her advice and then still lost, that would have been a sh*tty way to go out.

If I had to pick someone to tattoo me based on attitude alone, I’d feel much more comfortable with Gian over Nate

Nate strikes me as the kind of guy who might have been at the top of his game years ago, but now the industry has progressed without him and a lot of powerful new talent is springing up around him, along with new tools and techniques and styles, and he's found himself woefully behind. And now rather than work to catch up, he's coasting on reputation and he thought that would carry him through.

@@dazem8 its absolutely karma. They both gave critics to him that the JUDGES also expressed. Instead of listening he says, "I been tattooing longer than Ryan and Kelly, I dont need them to mess up what I'm doing with their two cents" Him 'tattooed' longer was him insinuating that he knew better than them BUT he was consistently in the bottom because...according to him.. that was his strategy. Nonsense. At the end of the day, longer does not mean better. His artistry and opinion got him sent home and yet.. Ryan became the inkmaster (with 4 yrs of tattooing), Kelly is a new school specialist and widely known in that field, they both were on Ink Master: Angels where they were judges and tattooed against other potential contestants, and Ryan won ink master battle of the sexes against other coaches (which included DJ who happened to be also another inkmaster) and that judging was blind. They are both wildly successful. You can never be too old or experienced to take advice and he got a big bite of humble pie. Karma

I wish they were all that supportive of each other. Too often they hope the other artists' give their people terrible tattoos. How fucked is that?

That'd be Britt Whitman -- not her assistant, though, her former apprentice. Also a hell of an artist in her own right. (Also happens to be my artist.) That said, can attest that, based on the couple of times I've met Kelly, this is a 100% accurate take. She'll kill ya with kindness, but you'll still end up stone cold dead.

Yeah they were both good. Would have been nice for Nate to make it too. But Sometimes pride will have us loosing more instead of gaining. It’s hard to differentiatewhen to take criticism and when to stick to your own.

The judges are confident but who's to say seeing a room full of people give disapproving gestures won't affect your decision or be more critical of the piece from time to time.

I honestly don’t understand why any of them are behaving like that towards each other, they’re not nicely/healthy competitive, they just want to drag each other down and show no respect for another’s artwork and hard work.. you already lost imo

@@sadist8902 I totally agree. But I feel like that kind of behaviour was a thing from the first couple of seasons. The contestants in later seasons has a much nicer tone, and more respect towards each other.

Got robed so hard is embarrassing. The work with the negative and the bare skin plus the chrome in a 2 hour tattoo. One wonders wtf the judges are looking at.

That's what I thought! A tattoo artist can refuse to work on you but so can the person getting a tattoo refuse to get their tattoo from the tattoo artist. I would have said thank you but no thanks and walked out, idk if unfinished. I don't want to get a tattoo that would remind me of this dude. What a b

The shaking is probably from not being able to tolerate the pain i think. I got my first on my outter calf never moved tensed or shook. So it could be his pain tolerance that caused it

Actually some people just get shaky during tattoos. It’s just a reaction from the nerves or something I think. So if it wasn’t from the pain (which already wouldn’t have been his fault) it could have been the way his body was responding to getting a tattoo done (which REALLY isn’t his fault). I got really shaky when I got one on the back of my neck. I have an extremely high pain tolerance. I honestly didn’t even really feel it (I got one on my lower back and didn’t feel that one at all) but I was shaking so hard. The tattoo guy said it was just my body’s reaction to getting a tattoo done there. Really dumb to bash a client for something they can’t control.

Or like a deer is shot its already dead but the body is still sending signals which causes them to run. I know this is unrelated but giving example. It could also be a shock factor to it also. Cause ive noticed if i get hit out of nowhere ill start to shake (which isnt fun).

I realised that.. 😁, but just to see the difference. My hair doesn't grow, it once took 8 years to get from chin to shoulder length. Since then I no longer have any different style as so difficult for me to grow it out. I think I'm just suffering from hair-growth envy!! 😫

@@DashDrones however, you should also worry about what the "you" of ten, twenty years from now is going to think about that tattoo! Getting something tha lt makes you happy now but could cause you embarrassment or regret in the future might not be the wisest choice. That being said, you can still get a tattoo of course but you should think about it carefully, not go and get it as a spur of the moment decision.

Also, from some clips it's pretty clear that they are given directions as to how to react to certain announcements (no way ten individuals would nod or roll their eyes or show surprise all together in real life, especially after being told totally predictable things like the rules of flash challenges)
