YES! please show more of the big titted, beatiful, badass one armed, one eyed samurai goddes that is baiken, greatest fighting game character ever conceived!
Haha, yes. The struggles of 2D models in fighting games. Is just easier to mirror them than to redraw and animate their backsides for consistency´s sake. And, to be fair, even most 3D games don´t bother to keep the character´s dominant side consistent when switching sides, Tekken does it as far as l remember...l think some PS2 Mortal Kombat games did as well.
A-Core Gaming did a very informative video on the matter... doing so would actually have the characters with normals that have diferent ranges depending on the side... imagine poor ol me who cant even footsies with a basic character playing with a character that has his moves range change with side switches
I think you should have at least included the Maruken vods in this kind of compilation, or something from the recent Winter KVO which Koto Baiken's team won. These Sharon vods are at least a year old and imo you're missing out by using such a small sample size. For reference these are some vods of these events. Yo, GG community, I got some questions. I've been really interested in moving to GG, coming from a Street Fighter background. I tried DBZ, but the neutral wasn't for me (assists, super-dash, cross screen teleports aren't my style, but the movement options, crazy mixups, high-speed/aggression was). I picked up GG Rev2 on sale on PS4, and was wondering, how hard is it to find players, and as a beginner, is it worth trying to hop online (after sufficient solo practice) if I'm gonna get crushed by the online community still playing (I'm guessing there are very, very few beginners playing). Thoughts?
Alright this is gonna be a lot of info so bear with me. When you're looking to play online, don't use matchmaking--use player lobbies. You can usually find a lobby with a decent connection this way but the volume of players depends on the time. If you really can't find a game just use the Discord and you'll get set up pretty easily. As for finding players at a similar skill level, I find the easiest way is making a lobby yourself and calling it "Beginners" or something along those lines. If you want a dedicated practice partner you can find one on the Discord or make a post on the subreddit.
Since you're coming from Street Fighter you realize how important neutral is to 1 versus 1 fighters. IMO this game has another layer over SF neutral that is the roman cancels. Not only you have to deal with footsies and aerials but also with a lot of mind games. Although the long combos and soul crushing damage is very hype no perfect input will beat a player with better fundamentals consistently, and fundamentals are only learnt by trial and error against other players. Unfortunately Xrd is already kinda old and the people sticking around usually are intermediate to advanced players, but the community is welcoming and the resources are endless from forums to wikis on dustloop and discords. If it's too hard think about it as Goku would - Every beatdown you take is a learning experience and every victory you get is another step to success. I'd wager this is the very best moment to start learning Guilty Gear, though. Since 2019 will be a huge year for ArcSys with DBFZ, BBTAG and Granblue Fantasy, this will logically budget an even bigger entry for the next GG generation. It's already confirmed it is in the making and with anime fighters on the rising this may as well be the contender for biggest FG of 2020 so until then you'll have plenty of time to learn, improve and love the series to get ready for a new cycle and hype for all greatness it will unfold soon enough! And, by the way, welcome! It's always good to see new people in the backyard~
I doubt your still playing Xrd but your best bet for most games that have already established themselves, is to matchmake on that game's community discord server, usually you'll find it by searching the game's name and discord in google
Don John Lopez People who say she is bottom 3 are liars and Bears agrees with me. She’s no Elphelt or Faust but she’s still really good and destroys you in the corner
She's certainly nerfed, don't get it twisted. Taking away her curses and the ability to counter from blockstring is a huge hit to her gameplan. Baiken isn't bad at all still besides that
She definitely did get a nerf as Jalen says, but she's still really good in the right hands. She has an unusual playstyle, which is why people just drop her after 5 minutes and cry "low tier." They should try fighting some people who actually practice her and see how "low tier" she is lmao.
