indeed just because they have a dash cam they try to get others to react.

do you know what it is, i got one as a gift this christmas, and for the first few days i noticed something, people who own one are so aware of its presence, they become judge and jury of the road and nobody thinks they drive bad, so what happens is they want some footage to show people, but when you drive properly and safely you wont get any footage for a long time if at all. so combine both factors and you get the impression you have, and your also correct, most of the time the dashcam owners are in the wrong, often both sets of cars. i noticed it in myself when i made a fuss over a driver going down a one way the wrong way in a shopping centre carpark, then when i got home watched it over, and a few clips later i did the same thing, not quite as bad so to speak, but non the less after kicking off i found myself doing the same crime. if you own or plan to buy one, you need to just accept its presence and then ignore it, whilst ever you drive around with it in your mind, you treat it and the car, the road and other users with the incorrect intent, there are awesome things to own, and i think should come standard in all cars myself, but remember something they also prove your mistakes in any insurance claims. you have to completely ignore its presence... its just a tool for a very rare possible outcome or scenario, treat it as you treat the seatbelt, its on, its done, now just drive

JDredbull I completely agree with what you’ve said. I have one in my car which doesn’t get driven a lot and one in my work van. I drive for around 8-10 hours a day for work. I make mistakes as much as anyone but sometimes you just have to be patient. Not everyone has quick reactions and there will always be a situation that you don’t see. I find it relatively easy to forget the camera is there because I am so focused on what everyone else is doing, as soon as you pay more attention to the camera and less on the road is when incidents occur.

That's really the best way to treat it, you cannot rely on other drivers and must expect and plan for the unexpected.

I agree, I too drive defensively and anticipate a fools next move. I can spot one a mile away; take for example one who is going to try and steal your lane. Just watch their tyres and the closing gap with the while line between them & you. The trick to avoid any confrontation with this special breed of idiot is to just slow down. It's the best way to avoid any damage to your vehicle and just go to your local police force's web site and send in the clip. That way, you get justice, the last laugh and they get a taste of karma. [EDIT] I think that's why I don't have much footage of idiots to submit.

But at the same time, moves like James at 8:50 are pretty shitty where he's just trying to nip in front of the mx5 and asking him to slow down/give way instead of dropping in behind which would've been the more appropriate action IMO, otherwise we'd all nail it up to the merge point and everyone would come to a stop. Plan ahead and merge earlier where possible then everyone can keep moving.

Driving Crawley not sure these dash cam channels would have much content if the camer assessed their own driving also. At least half of clips the cam driver is doing something wrong of some shape or kind

Paul Wilkinson if you have a dashcam which is nextbase you can send in any video you’ve recorded on it to a lot of police forces though their online portal you just click what video and what police force to send it to you can even use non nextbase videos, if the force isn’t on there, you can normally send it though to your local police force. www.nextbase.com/en-gb/national-dash-cam-safety-portal/ The only problem i see with it, it just makes the police lazy in actually going out there. Problem is people tend to be too egotistical , they simply can't say they made a mistake so take it out on the car that they nearly crashed into.. We are all human and all make mistakes , I've pulled out on people by accident as I'm sure we all have but I quickly at least flash the hazards to apologise , and when people have cut me up and flashed the hazards any anger towards them.usually quickly disappears , but most people just refuse to say sorry, which then angers the driver they just cut up even more... Basically just be the bigger man when you fuck up and it's usually fine

Ziggy Sheppard Pretty dumb comment that is mate. The other driver cut the entire roundabout technically going the wrong way around it. Then he gets out with a mouth on him about how he’s not wrong. The dash cam driver then goes around him like that because he is blocking his path which you obviously failed to see.

The driver would have forced the truck to slow down even if he had the extra few seconds. Therefore the maneuver was a bad decision. Trying to stop it from happening was also a bad decision. Both drivers at fault.

Well seeing as the other vehicle was driving round the roundabout the wrong way due to cutting it, it was approaching Boris from "the left", and as we all know, the highway code says you have to give way to the right.... 😊😮😅
