Its nothing to do with observation unfortunately, they're quite happy to let the accidents happen because they've got a camera in their car. Cant tell what's worse, shit drivers or dashcam wankers who dont avoid accidents so they can get a good clip for RU-vid.

steve gray always makes me laugh that one . The amount of reaction time she had was plenty enough .

The mini could have started reversing out in February 1997 and she still wouldn't have reacted in time. On a previous video she claims to have had 2 seconds maximum to react.

She must be 90 .. with no reaction speed left ...needs to hand her license in

How would you have reacted? she only had around 1.5 seconds to think and act, but the mini ought to have stopped at the kerb to give priority to the vehicle already on the road.

Personally as the hazard developed I would have sounded horn and anticipated adjusting my speed earlier,people sometimes don’t see you coming it happens in real life.

@@MrNeild123 Flooby is obsessed with defending Jennifer on every post, I could see the mini a good 2 seconds the first time watching before there was any reaction from Jennifer to brake or swerve. Flooby also likes to bring up highway code braking distances even though modern cars can stop in a fraction of those distances which has been proven again and again. Must be Jennifer's alternative account.

@Flooby Ackrill 1.5 second reaction time is appalling, 0.3 second is more average, I'd say that: a) She was doing something she shouldn't (texting on a phone) and didn't see the car.b) She wanted them to suffer by paying for damages?! c) Has really bad peripheral vision. d) Has super-sain high reaction time.

Exactly. In almost all of these clips you see people on the motor way driving too close to each other, people on multi-lane roundabouts not letting other people do last minute lane changes, people charging at roundabouts at 50mph.

I think people with dash cams can prioritise a clip over safe driving. Don't get it. Stuff like this happens to me often but I'm paying enough attention to react in time and that doesn't include hitting the horn instead of the breaks 😑

Gobtik that’s not how roundabouts work. It’s give priority to traffic approaching from the right which includes those approaching the roundabout from junctions to your right. What you are suggesting would be carnage if people actually did it on a regular basis

Juzza 1985 so every car you see approaching the roundabout from the right, even ones half a mile down the road, you still give way? When I was getting my licence I was taught to find a gap big enough for yourself as long as it abides by the law, he was on the roundabout and the gap was big enough so the driver had no reason to honk other than being impatient that it was a slow moving vehicle.

rebecca d no clearly you don’t have to give way to someone half a mile away. You said it yourself find a gap big enough so that you don’t cause someone who has priority to take evasive action. If they have to then the gap wasn’t big enough. It’s not difficult. But the idea that if you cross the white line from stationary while someone is 1m away from entering at 15-20mph from the right means you gain priority and they are responsible for any collision is ridiculous

Philip it has been said on this particular clip before that minis driver had not even looked to see if anything was coming and had reversed out without looking.

Total lack of common sense then. She would fail her driving test trying to prove she was in the right. Sometimes it’s better just to react (e.g. brake)😂 Hopefully she has learnt her lesson and become a safer driver.

It is but that is irrelevant here as the cyclist was on the roundabout before Blade even got there, he's accelerating over when Blade is a good 3m+ from the line. If Blade had slowed properly to the give way rather than pretty much continuing (his speed on the dash cam takes time to update and it appears at most he went from 22-18 while entering) he could have easily cleared the road safely. Moreover, the highway code only says you "should", not backed by a law thus advisory not mandatory

The ONLY time I’ve ever seen a clip actually needing the horn to be used, and Jennifer forgot it was there 😂

You could also say that if the minis driver used their brakes too and was looking out for hazards approaching they would not have caused the incident as they crossed 2 technical give ways before joing the road. First being the edge of the footway and the second at the edge of the road to see if both were clear and if they had of stopped at the kerb edge they would have seen a car coming something they blatently did not do. Jennifer on the other hand is under no obligation to stop but may do so only out of curteousy.

And I didn’t say it was a cop-out for not using the brakes, any driver with common sense would have stopped to let the Mini out. But when you’ve drove around it, and they clearly can’t see you, then you’d use the horn, what’s wrong with that?

This is all about priorities and the mini does not have priority over the car on the road. The mini must give priority to any vehicle already on the road and as the dashcam car was already on the road. It had priority over the mini and the mini has gone through 2 technical give ways one at the edge of the footway and the next at the edge of the road. The mini should have stopped momentarily at both and its driver really should have been lookingoutside its windows instead of not. The dashcam car only out of curteousy may stop but as it is already on the road is under no obligation to do so, but the mini has to give priority to it.

Flooby Ackrill I guess you’ve not heard of Hazard perception? Jennifer, whether she had right of way or not, failed hazard perception miserably in this instance (had she been on a test I would think she would have failed it too). The mini didn’t look, didn’t see and is at fault for driving without due care and attention. Jennifer looked and saw, and didn’t really react other than to steer to the other side of road, she didn’t brake, end of. Bottom line, both are idiots.

The other driver admitted fault for not looking and Jennifer has said she thought the other would stop. Hazard perception here works both ways. Look at the wood panels the mini must go past before it can emerge fully onto first the footway and then the road. As it cannot see properly before passing them, then how the fuck can it reverse onto the road safely without stopping. It is easy to blame Jennifer but the majority of the blame goes to the minis driver and if the police had of been involved they would have possibly faced careless driving for not doing the basics of checking the road was clear before they reversed out onto the road. Oh by the way the mini driver would too have failed her driving test for reversing over a footway without checking, reversing onto the road without stopping, not giving priority for a road user already on the road.

Flooby Ackrill i agree with all of what you said, howeverJennifer who had clear sight for a good 50m? didn’t react in the right way. When on the road you should presume everyone is an idiot, and drive defensively. Idk where the comments are on the other clip you mentioned, the point is she had ample time to react, and shouldn’t have presumed the mini would’ve stopped. As much as the mini is to blame, and accepted liability, it was very much avoidable to her who had clear view (irrespective of mini reversing blindly)

@@sgt_plague7746 The distance is not 50m, both cars can see each other 3 seconds before the incident which is 27 m. 2 seconds before they are both obscured from each other by the tree which is 18m after a fraction of a second they become visible to each other again. At 20mph you will travel 9m in 1 second. Due to the minis view being blocked at 2 seconds before the incident it would have been prudent to stop and check again then remember at 20mph your stopping distance is 40 feet so Jennifer only had 20 feet to decide and 20 to stop, she could have stopped but the mini really ought to have double checked before going onto the road as its view had been blocked 2 seconds. The blame falls on to the mini as they must give priority to all vehicles already on the road, stopping by Jennifer is still just curteousy and not an obligation.

I'm usually on the side of bikers, but unless I'm missing something he was bang out of order. The guy was crossing the road which was clear when he started, then his attention was diverted by the honking. All he did was keep walking. The biker just expects to steam along and fuck anyone who dares be where he wants to be? From the pedestrian's pov, a bike just steamed up at speed out of nowhere, nearly hit him then yelled at him.
