Cartel Bosses seemed to be depicted in these ways... Obviously very capable of terrible things... But have qualities you're drawn in to. For instance, in Sicario, the main guy seems like a gentle dad enjoying dinner with his family. Take away those images, and a charismatic character like Eladio, and they still had to spill a lot of blood on their hands to stay where they are.

Dunno if the actor is a native speaker maybe he's not, i know that Giancarlo Esposito isn't and his spanish is actually kinda funny lol Edit: Looked into it and he's not, he was born in Cuba but moved to America at 3 years old, so that explains it, he possibly speaks spanish to his parents and a few friends but mostly speaks english and isn't 100% confortable with spanish, hence why his spanish is slow

Tuco seems way too low ranking to meet eladio. In BB he resides in a crappy 2 story building and you'll be rightfully mistaken thinkij at first he's just another gangster with no cartel connection

After he was imprisoned, the position was important enough that fckn Hector himself started overseeing things there, and after he had his stroke, Lalo came and did the same. Tuco was litterally the same position as Lalo, one step below the highest capos Bolsa and Hector, who themselves where just one step below Eladio. His operation seems so "small" in "Breaking Bad" because Gus slowly pushed the Salamancas out of business, as shown in "Better Call Saul"

Bolsa was favored so rose to Underboss later as he earned better thru GUS. All the Capos at Eladios party where gus poisons everyone are Above Tuco. Tuco was family to Hector that is why he had sway. But Eladio > Bolsa> Hector/Lalo> Party Capos> Tuco/Lieutenants..,..Tuco could be seen to have the same Sway as Regular Capos cause he was family... and maybe at the end he reached that lvl ..but otherwise he was not super high ranked before Gus would be on Hectors Lvl but he is an associate so its diff. So ya Tuco was a local boss really with powerful family that was ruled by a High Capo Hector who used to be on the same lvl as High Capo Bolsa..but Bolsa is clearly Above hector in later events and seen as an underboss....

Even with a free Tuco, I still see Lalo taking over with an incapacitated Hector as Tuco is a hothead and a methhead and incapable of effectively running his uncle’s empire north of the border. I could be wrong but that’s my impression.

You know, when Gus gives him Don Eladio the bottle of Zafiro Añejo in BB, a boy/waiter is serving the drinks and Eladio says to him "You spill a drop and I cut your hand" in a very normal tone, but it gave me chills because he most likely was being 100% serious lmao Must be pretty stressful to work at his house
