93 Dorian changed my Idea of what is possible,the Shadow was one of the most dedicated athelete,I will never forget those pics and footage!I salute Mr Yates!
dorian yates has always been my all time favourite bodybuilder and BB idol, he changed bobybuilding by bringing a new physique to the stage. what makes dorian a true champion is the dedication and commitment, not to mention he had no help when it came to nutrition,training etc. he did it all him self and believed in him self from day one. his training was something else and as for his blood and guts video, well for me this training video is so hardcore and the best training video ive ever seen.... long live king dorian yates...
All true. EXCEPT, he did get some help after 92’ when he started to train with his idol Mike Mentzer and adopt Mentzers training program which is was the direct result of his transformation from 92-93”. Of course he tweeked Mentzers program just a tad bit, but mentzer does deserve credit. Even Dorian discussed many times, and credited mentzer for his training style and transformation. But yes, Dorian basically did everything himself, and he has always and will always be my favorite bb too bc him and Mentzers training style and philosophy is the style I always followed from when I started bodybuilding at 14 years old in 2001. However, this training style, although the most effective, it is also the harshest on your body. And i started to pay for it in my mid 20’s
@@jakeh6980 Well as we know the human body isn't designed for lifting crazy weights, and its only a matter of time when you get injuries. i trained twenty odd years leg pressing heavy weights and reached half tonne in weight with the leg press, then in 2021 i had a hip replacement. so now my leg workouts are light as those heavy leg years are truly gone sadly, simply cant take the risks going heavy with new hip, i tried it and my legs and groin tells me its a no no.
Dorian is the only bodybuilder in history that can win a Mr Olympia with one arm, that's how good the rest of him was, Front lat spread, unbeatable. Side tricep pose, unbeatable. Back double bicep, unbeatable. Back lat spread, unbeatable. Calfs, unbeatable. Forarms, unbeatable. Game over.

The ROIDERS are too SCARED to come off of the STEROIDS because they would LOSE all their "size" and "strength"! This just proves that the ONLY difference is the STEROIDS between someone that uses and not uses! The difference is NOT because they lift weights, eat and sleep. People that lift WITHOUT STEROIDS do that! You are NOT FOOLING us! Lift weights WITHOUT STEROIDS and let's see how "big" & "strong" you REALLY are! Stay natural buddy!
u know... im not that fan of Yates` shape but i have to admit that despite the fact he didnt had the "best genetics" in the world he is a big example of a guy that achieve a remarkble physique exploring his strongs points as his back and legs. Very smart guy..great bodybuilder,.. great champion !
yates is the best ... he was insanely conditioned for a mass monster ... so he could have so easily added many pounds more and still looking well conditioned ... and this would have dwarfed any other body builder ... hes almost as big as ramy with zero fat zero water
I really don't like Dorian's physique, especially his middle section. I think that few bodybuilders were robbed, and Dorian shouldn't vin all of those Sandow's figure, particularly with his broken bicep. But despite of all his body issues - I cannot contest his sacrifice, dedication, work ethic, commitment and absolutely overwhelming mind games. That made him real champion. Probably the best bodybuilder of all times - not because of his body, but because of his mind.
When you look at these bodybuilders you have to say respect. Same as Coleman and Cutler. But I seen a recent bodybuilder competing, has to have a special mask to help him sleep at night. He looks ridiculous. Like he doesn’t look real.
IMO it wasn't Arnold that made bodybuilding world wide, it was those black and whit pics of Dorian. it re invented the sport. The modern softies let it down. Large, hard, grainy, in condition and that included all the competition. Now?
pure politics as to why he won as many Olympias as he did with zero quad separation and a torn biceps ! so many other quality competitors in that Era at least 3 others deserved the title
