I did Hillclimbing for a few years in a near stock TTRS and some gentleman 60 years of age or older whiped the floor with me and my 500hp modern AWD Sportscar in modified 1970s cars with rarely over 350hp just by having a lighter car and having more balls. I am a really good Circuit driver. But for Hillclimb i just have too much of a survival instinct

Sure thing. Up-to-date gear is important. So are balls and weight management. Have a good one.

+dieselmupke Pikes Peak is difficult and all that,but it's only one race.And these cars run in highly competitive championships.Europe's hillclimbs are challenging and difficult.I'm not saying Pikes Peak isn't,but it's unfair to take it as a measurement for performance of cars on hillclimbs.Check out some of Europe's famous tracks like Trento-Bondone in Italy,St,ursanne Les Rangiers in Switzerland,which is world's fastest hillclimb,Rechberg in Austria,Sternberk in Chech Republic or Rampa da Falperra in Portugal.To say they are not good and challenging compared to the Pikes Peak,that no hillclimbs are like Pikes Peak,like some people said in comments on some of the videos i watched,is pointless,because all the tracks i mentioned are legendary and spectacular just as Pikes Peak.Besides,it's one thing when you're competing in race that's held once a year and completely different when you're chasing the title in the championship.And the one who wins European hillclimb championship or hillclimb cup or even both,regardless of category in which the driver competes,can be considered as the world's best,since they are the only international hillclimb competitions.And of course,there are also plenty of highly competitive national championships too.Along with that,Europe has the best hillclimb drivers.However,the guys on Pikes Peak surely create insane cars.Would like to see them compete in European championships.

+ Kali Muscle AKA Chuck Basher G4P on a dayle But he never won any european hillclimb competition.He's the best on Pikes peak,but in Europe,going against the likes of drivers like Karl Schagerl,Reto Meisel,Ronnie Bratschi or Dan Michl would make it very difficult for him to win.

Pikes peak was still half gravel when Loeb competed, and suited his rallye style of driving and car, on the tarmaced surface it would be much closer for him I think. I remember seing a hillclimb video some years ago from a hillclimb in Switzerland, not being St Ursanne. One driver (Swiss, but don't remember his name) used an old Nascar for that race, but could not keep up with the Golfs and the like on the typical European course, these cars are too slugish for them, built more for high speeds and long fast (left) corners. But the experimental open wheel, open frame cars from Pikes Peak could do well.

+dieselmupke Um,Pikes Peak is full-tarmac since 2012.Loeb raced there in 2013.About open wheel cars from Pikes Peak-yes,they could do well.But take a look at the field in Europe.Ex-F3000 cars,Norma's,Osella's,Lucchini's,Radicals and whatnot built specifically for hillclimbs.They might do well against F3000 cars,but against the likes of Osella FA30,i doubt,since that car is basically Formula 1 for hillclimb.

+Stuntman Vince He raced with Opel Speedster before,which is now raced by his father sometimes.The car in this video is a Lotus.2013. was it's debut season.

Dan Michl's father doesn't race with the Speedster anymore. At least I haven't seen him in it for years. He used to drive a Škoda 130RS and now drives mostly a classic 911

Some of the videos are older and impossible to get in higher resolutions, so we have to make sure that all footage is balanced so it doesn´t get too jaring. But in the future we´ll certainly feature better quality images as time goes on ;)

HillClimb Monsters I understand, thanks for sharing the footage regardless it was great.

However, you still managed to complain about the resolution in the first place.

droceretik I'm not complaining. I'm saying I wish it was better. I'm sure they wish it was better too. Complaining would be having a go at them for not doing it. Sorry for sharing my views

+Dayton Ohio Funny thing is that blue Fiat X1/9 of Manuel Dondi is as fast on italian hillclimbs as Loeb's Peugeot on Pikes Peak with lower budget.And of course,it's driver is skillfull and fearless.
