It gives the same feeling soldiers probably have in these situations. I don't know you, you don't know me, but we fight for the same team, so we're brothers
Hate to break it to all of you, but Mike lived using the bugs as a blast shield, then took the second jet ski to the bar where they drank all night long.
Why would you hate to break good news to people? I forgot this guy even existed and just seeing him come in and body zombies made him easily one of my favorite characters and I can't wait for his stand-alone game.
In the original, in a radio call after Mike's death, Saddler compares it to killing a fly and Leon responds that insects' lives doesn't compare to human lives. Funnily enough, in the Remake it is actually insects that kill Mike.
I like the dichotomy: Original Mike is a professional who does ludicrous amounts of damage and gets punked by an RPG he really should have seen coming. In the Remake, Mike is having the time of his life until he runs out of ammo and then gets wrecked by something he had no way to deal with.
To be fair, sending a chopper alone to fight a fortified position that's furthermore enclosed sounds like a reciper for disaster to begin with. It's a testament to Mike's skills that he was even sent in the first place.
Bro he is a PILOT. They got a lot to deal with in a helicopter already, and they are NOT usually trained to deal with a threat LATCHED to the outside of the helicopter. Why would he think he needed a damn gun INSIDE his helicopter when its armed to hell
With Mercenaries coming out later, it would be incredible to see a side mission featuring Mike post-crash. Like, armed with an MP5; you have to fight your way out of the castle to safety.
If it's anything like the survivors missions in re2, then we could start with a severely injured one-hit from death Mike or, Mike is always bleeding and requiring constant meds throughout the mission. Both would be interesting.
3:42 Original RE4 was such a meme. A helicopter *sneaks* next to these guys and no one notices until the steel starts creaking; the helicopter is COMPLETELY SILENT!
Unlikely, due to the place exploding, and also would have get killed anyway due to the goofy helicopter engine exploding in the helicopter which makes it a hell Unlikely for them to survive
because sadler needs leon for his skills just like krauser he wants to wait until the parasite grows to its final mutation and takes control of leon this is why he kidnapped ashley in the first place and when the leon came after the ashley it was a double cheeseburger for sadler lol
@@mzov_1724 sadler doesn't controll all ganado in fact every region works independently but faithful to sadler in re4 for example in the village btores is in charge and the castle is belong to ramon salazar and the island to krauser, too many times in the castle they tried to inprison leon but they failed cause he's smart asf
@@mzov_1724 It’s like testing out a new firearm, you want to make sure it works and does the job before you trust your life with it. Same concept can be applied to that, a simple test of whether he’s truly valuable in combat or not.
To be fair, in the original, his death was pretty straightforward, but in the remake, well... those bugs are a lot more survivable versus a rocket to the face.
It hurts extra bad I didn't know that Mike would die and I thought that we would actually go to bar Then I remembered that he's in a helicopter in a zombie game
@@vidirachman Saddler got access to a legit warship in the original, had CIWS and a multiple naval guns. Ada had to blow it up in her side story. It's purely a dev decision to give Leon a fighting chance and not turn RE4 into a cover shooter that the military ganados didn't all have rifles.
You'd be surprised, the closest real life example would be the *WW2* British pom-pom AA gun and they were littered everywhere on British warships back then. It wouldn't be so overkill in this type of situation.
Mike couldnt catch a break man, dude come back just to die again, i was hoping they at least gonna give Mike some story or probably some 4th survivor type of dlc
tbh he's just like the og but with more passion and energy in his dialogues now, i think most real pilots are like that in real life but i think it's subjective and i know what you talking about a chill terminator is more badass but for me mike's personality in remake is more realistic
I Miss The Old Mike, Staight From The Go Mike, Chop Up The Soul Mike, Set On His Goals Mike. I Hate The New Mike. Nah but excluding that reference I was making, I don't see whats wrong with Remake Mike.
The remake definitely made mike more memorable as I genuinely forgot mike was there in the original so when i encountered him this time round im like nice new addition
@@m4rkinn In fact, if they had changed the script and mike hadn't died and in the post credits scenes instead of putting Hunnigan (nobody cares xddd) they put Mike and Leon having a drink in a bar the fans would be much happier
The remake version makes MUCH MORE SENSE AND COOLER than the original version (where Mike's death seems comical)... Instead of getting caught off-guard by RPG because he is chit-chatting with Leon, this time Mike needs to be low and stationary since he needs to pick Leon up with rope ladder... and he's not being careless, since the enemies are unknown type that can literally turn invisible.
4:48 this part was so EPIC for me as a kid playing on Gamecube. Wish they would have kept those scenes in remake. The way Mike dies in original Resident Evil 4 is same way helicopter is destroyed in Resident Evil 3 Nemesis after Jill leaves Clocktower.
Mike's accent sounds Cajun in the remake and sounds Brooklyn in the original. I like both, I just think its an interesting change. It makes sense though, a lot of midwestern and southern military aviators.
Probably to make him standout more Original voice was honestly pretty generic military man besides 2 or 3 lines that carry Brooklyn accent The new voice pops out with the Cajun twang, makes Mike seem more goofy and friendly
I remember the OG RE4 that this was the most epic chapter in the entire game. All the hell you went through, and it was time for payback with Mike's help. Felt like Starship Troopers "Kill'em All."
The way Mike's death was handled bodes ill for the remakes. This in addition to the focus on Wesker and his spiel at the end speaks to 5 being the next remake instead of them doing the one that needs to be made: Code Veronica.
Combat pilots in light helicopters are nuts there was a video where a Kiowa Warrior was going after a bomb maker fleeing on a dirt bike so the helicopter pilot pulls out his M4 hovers low and pops the guy. They would do shit like sweep enemies with machineguns and rockets while 10 feet of the ground going full speed.
I think I like OG Mike more just because he and Leon have some interaction over the radio, albeit brief. There's something about that Bronx accent for a kick-butt attack chopper pilot rather than a cowboy one.
