It’s hard to judge these relationships because there is so much leading up to these moments. Some of these coaches do a good job of motivating and also with dealing with their players negative emotions and insults but the some coaches might be trying to navigate their players difficult personality (if only difficult due to the stress of the match they are playing). The one coach who walked off should probably have been the end of their relationship no matter whose fault it was that they got to that point. I would be terrible at being coached like this and having people tell me where to hit the ball during a match would be extremely irritating. There are better, more productive ways to give those directions without making the player self conscious of what needs to be intuitive on court. Practice sessions are where you figure the mechanics of how you play.

You gotta keep it in play.....yathink? Calm them or jack them depending on your intimate psychological knowledge of your charge. Then ONE suggestion. Ex. Change her up; more top; bring her in; one step in on second; take a bit of your first; jam her; thwart her favourite shot; go high BH on her..... and so on. ONE advice only. These players do not trust their coaches and who can blame them? They clearly are incompetent.

Are you new to tennis? A lot of professional players don't have a super aggressive play style. Very normal. Collins' coach was quite literally saying the opponent is NOT an aggressive player. He probably prepared her by saying she would not be aggressive, so that's actually what Collins expected lol...Collins was disagreeing and thought she was aggressive.
@serendimity
@serendimity Месяц назад
In tennis, “aggressive” is a type of play. She isn’t saying she’s an aggressive player in a competition sort of way; she’s asking her coach if her assessment of the “type” player she is was accurate. In tennis, there’s many different styles of play from aggressive baseliner to defensive baseliner to an all-courter or volleyer.

Danielle is asking her coach the type of game style her opponent has since there are 4 different game styles: 1. Aggressive Baseline 2. Serve & Volley 3. Counter Punch 4. All Court Danielle thinks her opponent has an aggressive baseline style because her opponent is matching Danielle's aggressive baseline style. A counter punch style can match an aggressive baseline style too which is why Danielle isn't sure the type of game style her opponent has.
