I remember exactly how I initially saw this game; I was with my parents when I was much younger and we were watching a documentary about the 9/11 terrorist attacks (I of course didn’t understand much and was basically almost asleep on the sofa) and between ad breaks the live action (don’t quote me on this) trailer came on, although My family or I never owned any sort of Xbox console, I pleaded and begged for a brand new 360 on my birthday. I then received the game a month after it came out, on my birthday, with a sleek Xbox 360 - sparking a never ending love of the halo franchise
Halo: Reach was a bad time to start getting interested in Halo. Halo:Reach was the last great Halo game. Halo 4 was bad and Halo 5 was really bad. I hope you went back and played the others in the series because Halo 4 and Halo 5 do not do the storyline justice.
For me it was the same sort of thing but I already had a 360 which I got for my envy if the Skylanders series, seems quite cringe now. But I remember getting CeA and thinking it was the Og halo and halo 2 had budget cuts or something.
@SeemsLogical I'm an OG halo fan too, but I actually liked Halo 4. Bungie had already wrote most of it, and left it for 343 to pick up, so that explains why I liked it 😂
@LyonHeartMusic Bungie nowadays are worse than 343 are. It's not 343's fault specifically, it's DEI quotas for ESG points. Halo 4 was made before the gaming industry was placed under concerted attack, THAT'S why it's still good.
The thing I love about the Reach soundtrack is that none of the tracks feel hopeful or elated, they're either desperate/determined or melancholy. Exactly how being on Reach was, you're losing, you will eventually lose, but that won't stop you from putting up a fight.
While the original halo theme is a classic, reach’s score is heavily underrated. 3:50 like Jesus Christ I’d put this on par with some of what John Williams has done in the prequels.
you all probably dont give a shit but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot my login password. I love any tips you can give me.
@Dario Kashton Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Honestly when I was younger I didnt know halo reach came out but one day my dad came home and was all "here son got you something idk what it's about but I think it looks fun" I said alright I gave it a try and to my extent I loved it shared many memories with it, if it wasnt for my dad I would've never known about it RIP Dad love you
I love most halo soundtracks ( bungie halo games) but Reach was the best for me, a great time in my life with a great game in its prime, i miss those days. i listen to the music and i get flashbacks from my battles, truly epic.
00:00 - Overture 04:43 - Winter Contingency (abbreviated) 14:42 - ONI: Sword Base (abbreviated) 18:58 - Tip of the Spear (abbreviated) 23:16 - Exodus (abbreviated) 28:14 - New Alexandria (abbreviated) 32:30 - The Package (abbreviated) 37:53 - The Pillar of Autumn (abbreviated) 42:14 - Epilogue (abbreviated) 45:28 - From The Vault 50:27 - At Any Cost
I know it’s not intentional but In 3:19 when the trumpets start to play in the overture you can hear the musicians breathe before they blow into the trumpet it might just be me but it’s almost like they’re (excuse the pun) Breathing humanity into the music
This kind of just hits me in the feels, this was the first Halo game where I started to truly play multiplayer and I would play almost every day, I got so good, maybe too good where I was handily beating four other players in a slayer lobby on Powerhouse on my own in a red vs blue match and yes I did get all 50 kills and I only died three times.
I remember exactly the day I got this game from my father for my birthday (right when the game was released), it was the game I liked the most on the xbox 360, this soundtrack brings me good memories
Your boycott is... understandable :) my pals and me were waiting for a full adaptation of the book Fall of Reach when the game was announced... we were disappointed a lot at first, it took us to play the game to realize our mistake
funny thing is even tho i'm that one weird mfer that can't really replay or rewatch most things, I can always bop halo reach music, especially overture something just ... idk man, clicks for me. the song has a ig glorious triumphant feel yet also a bit somber too fits halo reach like a damned glove. I used to call this the best halo game, but ... I don't know if I believe that. its a good story and I like it as a sci fi military fan, but its just unique for sure, I think I like odst more personally idk why just do.
