My god i have tears of nostalgia. I would trade all my games for everyone to get on Halo 3 one last time. To see 500,000 people on the server for one last time, destroying the maps for one last time.
Black Onyx You should see all the BK's on nowadays they don't know any of the spawns and they rush in like idiots no joke one time i got a killionaire, xD
I remember the hype it was to get recon, never had i ever wanted something so bad from a game hhahaha it was trully epic and nothing like the games today I guess the future really is the oculus rift stuff, i can't get hyped up for anygame anymore, honest. Perhaps i just grew up, I might never know, and halo 3 I will never forget.
Halo CE > Halo 2 > Halo 3 > them other three shit games they put halo in the title. Shows how immense Halo CE and Halo 2 where when I put them above Halo 3 which was still a quality game.
@@reverse_shell.asm.sh.exe1 I appreciate the sentiment honestly. I often feel the same for most of everything now in anime and video games. truly it was a great time.
Shout out to every single one of you who was there until the bitter end of the OG server sunset. That was some of the best Halo I’ve ever played. No gaming experience will ever come close to this era of Xbox 360 Halo. This was more than a game - it was something you grew up with. This shared experience is ours forever
Ill never forget my last game ever. Just dancing around with sniper rifle waiting for the server to cut out and kick us all offline for good. Those truly were the days
As sad as it may sound, Halo 3 was a huge part of my life growing up. So many fun nights playing Customs, MLG, doubles and team slayer. Meeting new people online and laughing to the point you have to take your headset off🤣. It was a huge community which was available 24/7. It was a great time and no other game ever came close. Its sad to think it’s all over. I’m 26 now and don’t game at all but those days were great and watching this video gave me a crazy amount of nostalgia. Brilliant memories.
Bro Im 27 my gamertag was NeiLyyy back in the day... Im actually thinking of trying to reimagine the Halo Scene...kinda like how Dana White brought MMA to the US...IM SURE theres a market for it.
This was truly the golden age not just for MLG but for Halo. I remember getting a 360 and Halo 3 for Christmas back in '09. I don't think I ever loved a multiplayer game quite like Halo 3, other than Halo 1. Halo: Reach even was great even though it was different. It just pains me to think how 343i has destroyed the franchise and will probably continue to destroy it with Halo 5. I think Halo 4's population decline spoke for itself. That and the way MLG flat-out disowned Halo and bumped it from the main stage. Bungie will always be the only developer capable of making a good Halo game, one that's competitive, not casual. If I could, I would take a time machine back to 2007 and just play Halo 3 for hours on end.
I agree 100%. I'm so annoyed because i didnt get a 360 and halo 3 (was the first game straight away) until about 2012, and im so pissed off that i missed the Halo 3 days. I would do anything to go back to 2007 and play Halo 3 when it was the most popular. I'm still annoyed to this day for missing it. Favourite game ever
Oh MakeTheTea You might miss the old 2007 days. But I can get an account to 50 in 32 games. Back in the day their was so much more competition. Although the competition was very fun, to this day Naded, Snipedown, and Neighbor still play Halo 3. Naded Streams on twitch alot. and when I see him stream I jump on halo and play MLG. 50% of the time I get teamed with him due to the fact no one plays halo anymore.
Wayward Son it's just not as hype when watching halo 5. Chris P was such a dope commentator. I see these other guys try to hard. Maybe with the exception of T2.
I've been to local Microsoft tourneys .. it's just not lan anymore.. it's online with people around you.. but the community is still strong..... Just trips me out how old we are now.. I was 17 when it was at it's peak. Now I'm 27 .. but it kepted me out the streets
This game took more skill than any of the mlg games. Not only the accuracy but every movement and position was important, so technical. No sprinting involved, game speed was perfect.
Damn I miss this game and the community. Halo 3 was my first online game ever, first one I bought with my 360. I can’t tell you how many one nighters and hours I put into this game. And that file share was wild those custom games were fun as hell! I wish they’d remaster this we need a petition or somethin
THIS ACTUALLY MAKES ME CRY :( THE GOOD OLD DAYS :( RIP HALO I'LL ALWAYS BE THANKFUL FOR THE HOURS,DAYS,MONTHS AND YEARS YOU GAVE ME,THANK YOU THE GOLDEN DAYS XO
The one thing I don’t understand .. why did such an incredible game die?!! Soo many people including myself admit to how many amazing memories it gave us and what a fantastic community there was. From playing custom zombies all night to people buying their level 50s to account boosters to sweating your MLG games, to team slayer games, to playing doubles relentlessly until you are your partner fell out 🤣 it was just brilliant.
Have fun with that! I have played it on Legendary Co op and it was easy for me. Not kidding. but right now I am playing through Halo CE Anniversary on Legendary Solo, and its kinda hard. I get stuck, but I also get through checkpoints with some ease.
I'm such a huge halo fan. I still play it daily. H3 but I'm sorry to say. the cod community is so huge now its bigger then halo ever was. sad to say but its the truth.
Crazy to see how much the teams changed, the play style evolved, and how new faces started to appear throughout the years. I love how you started with Meadowlands 08 to being and ended it with Dallas 2010, like a timeline of competitive Halo 3. Felt like I was reliving watching all the events. Awesome video.
Oh man. This game just takes all my feels. Not only was it the perfect blend of speed, gameplay mechanics and *actual* skill based matchmaking, this game is like looking in a photo album. I grew up playing this with my brothers day in day out, and we used to sometimes have a full team on one screen. So much nostalgia for one man to take. Thank you so much bungie :') Sincerely, someone who wants to go back to 2007
Just finished playing some halo Infinite. Just will never be the same. The nostalgia😅😢 the maps the lingo, the bad kids buying their 50S 😅😂 I still have my same gamer tag. It’s litteraly teenagers. I’m so old 🎉
Wow... came here to watch a clip or two but ended up watching it all. I remember the good ol days back when Halo 3 came out, playing all day after getting home from junior high and watching these tournaments was the best feeling ever. Wish I could rewind back to these times and experience it all again, the nostalgia is real. Halo 2 MLG was also amazing.
You and me both. Incredible memories. Sounds crazy because it’s a computer game but it felt like far more. Great community, great laughs and highly addictive. Would be amazing to have a few games with some old friends one last time.
Wow.. Imagine the intensity and pressure on every single player in the clip that starts at 41:22.. Simply an amazing clip. Take note of how close the game was. Every player would of been shitting brix calling out every shot they took. I am yet to see any other kind of hype behind any other competitive multiplayer game. These were truly the golden days of console gaming.
Dang I miss the H2/H3 MLG scene... other e sports games today don't catch my attention the same way. Halo fan for life, just hoping that Halo 5 comes goes back to what made Halo great in the first place. Just has to be itself.
Yea dude I know I'm amped. I was just saying these are my favorite games both competitive and non competitive. I keep up with melee's competitive scene though it's awesome
In my opinion even though I don't like Halo 4 as much as the original trilogy I still think that Cod is the one that is changing more into Halo than Halo changing into cod. But I understand.
Damn... This game was my childhood and I can say watching a few of these clips almost brings tears. I remember playing doubles matches with my friends and playing custom games and the incredible community it had... I remember reaching the rank or colonel grade 3 and having 42 skill trying to reach brigadier and oh man I put so much time into this game.. But of course as time goes on.. Halo died and I got into cod gta and other games and I bought the master chief collection the other day and oh man the nostalgia is real. To think one day a generation won't even know what true halo gameplay is makes me sad. fuck 343 honestly they had one job....
What to be said...the way players worked. They were one shot and half the time they still went out. I’m one shot? Fuck if I care I’ll out BR them and then do it again. The call outs the constant speaking. Nothing was ever wasted. 10 minutes of shouting? No that was 10 minutes of communication and team work. I miss all of this, I miss going into ranked playlists at 45+ and never having a quiet moment. A team calling out here a grenade there. A weapon firing here as I hear the groan of a teammate going down. I remember looking these games up on the weekend and just staring at the screen as I dreamed of one day visiting the meadowlands for a chance to just participate in a FFA tournament, for the chance to see the pros in person. Where did my passion for games go.
Tell me, Halo 4 fanboys: did you see any of this awesome stuff in the Halo 4 championships? Nope. I'll tell you why: Sprint and Ordinance drops. No guns on the map means no one is using the awesome stuff. Sprint means people spend more time running away then shooting. The last round of the Halo 4 championships was pathetic, with both players pinging each other a few times and running away.
Sonic343 He's talking about Halo 4 Global Championships. The FFA tournament where you qualified online, and it ended with Ace playing Pistola in a 1v1 for $400k
2 things: ordinance drops are ment for fun and non-cometitive social play, NOT FOR COMPETITIVE sprint is VERY good for a number of reasons, faster game play and more skill if you sprint at the wrong time the other one will get the 1st shot, get the advantage and kill you easily (btw, if you sprint and get shot you move more slowly than walking) ps: that final was one of the most exciting and cuttroating endings to a halo game, reminded me of the str8 ctf clutch endings of halo 3
TheParkour313 more running=less shooting=less fun Halo was NEVER about who got the first shot. It did have a bearing on who would win an engagement, but it wasn't the sole one. Watch the short from 'Halo Legends' called 'The Package' and then tell me with a straight face that 'Sprint' doesn't suddenly seem ridiculous in a Halo game. BTW, why was a Concussion Rifle the only weapon on the map in the Halo 4 finals? It's pathetic.
Tarson Talon because it was a 1v1, if there was rockets or snipers it would almost be an instant win, and concussion is THE weapon that if you hit every shot you get the shields down faster but the adversary CAN dodge it, making it a skill machup. its not random that they chose it what happens is, for example in a objective game like ctf or a power weapon in a slayer sprint is good and bad to get to the power weapon first or the objective, you can sprint making THE GAME FASTER and MORE ENGAGEMENTS, with the downside being that for example you are sprinting to get some rockets, and someone who KNOW by strategy you were going there could have gotten a high place and hit you first getting the advatage i think it gives more strategy to the game, the REAL issue with h4 is that you seem to get 0 rewards for your play, most of the armor abilities bring nothing aside from jetpack, bad competitive maps (or only 3 arena maps) and all those could have been fixed, problem is it had so much of an impact when the game came out, that the community basicly ended dont hate on halo 4, because it doesnt help. try to help the community build a good halo 5!
bungie went out big on halo 3 perfect game for mlg tournaments the cheering the triple and double kills after H3 its just like ehh a little left of that moral in reach.
Bro I remember literally every single clip in this video, this will always be my favorite era of gaming that’s for sure, halo 3 man, miss those glory days grinding accounts to level 50’s
There was soo much high competition back at the height of Halo 3, highest satisfaction was having level 50s in MLG, Slayer, and Swat playlist... Not like cod where anyone can rank up as long as you keep on playing
32:50 that feel when your level 50 skill is in the balance. youre nothing but focussed on every moment. you can feel you heart race, and your blood pump through every capillary. every action can have fatal consequences. that primal feel of domination and glory when you pull it off.
I was there in the crowd when Neighbor got that quad triple kill on Onslaught. The excitement and energy from everyone was unreal. It wouldn't surprise me if people outside the venue heard the cheer.
