The hardest thing for me to get used to at first when driving in japan was checking both ways before pulling out of a driveway to the right, almost got hit by a garbage truck lol. You get used to it though. Not getting hit but the driving.

You could have stopped in Cheddar and walked through the caves that honeycomb the gorge. And if you like that kinda thing not far from there is Wookey hole, nothing to do with large hairy space monsters but a beautiful underground cave system

It’s a shame you didn’t take to Bath but I can understand where you’re coming from. Sure, it’s beautiful but there really isn’t all much to do, especially on a miserable grey day.
