I don’t think it’s that at all. Theo has an approval seeking behavior. Probably due to his upbringing. He wants Bills approval and Bill is withholding it. Probably because Bill himself is intimidated by Theo being naturally hilarious. I think it’s their mutual insecurity that’s making it awkward. Not Theo being zen.

@@BURRRRPPPPPOOP Theo's stand ups aren't his strength. His comedic genius comes out in podcasts and just talking. The issue here is they are such polar opposites and don't compromise. Bill is too much of a realist and Theo is just chaotic. Theo is definitely special in the comedy scene. Bill is a master as well.

This podcast was filmed "nowadays". This podcast episode is nowhere near old. They don't work well together because Theo is a cool guy but he's soft and ignorant and those are two things that Bill doesn't do well with. Especially coming from a male comedian.

Most of these comedian types are self-deprecating and will tell you that they're morons, or they'll play the persona of being non-educated, when the reality is actually the complete opposite, and I think that his intelligence is also the source of many of Bill's problems throughout his life (genuine unhappiness, non-sociability, alcoholism)
