Considering how few info and reviews there are out there, probably because of the stupidly big price tag, I don't know who else to ask but you guys. I would love to see the Lifeform high back executive office chair review and ranking. Also a video going over the different build materials with closeups of pushing in the material and recommendations for different types of people would be amazing

Your videos are amazing, I only have 1 suggestion: you “review” the Steelcase Series 2 saying how at that price it competes with the Amia and that’s a better deal. But you should consider that in other markets and countries the Steelcase Series 2 has a different pricing, and the Amia isn’t even in the catalogue there, so not really an option. You do touch other points of the Series 2 though, so still very useful! :)

I Oh man, the videos you guys put out are amazingly informative. I am currently on the quest to find an ergonomic desk chair as we all have been working more from home. I did some sit sessions at the local furniture store and really liked the Leap and Aeron chairs, I mean they have quite the reputation. They also had a Steelcase Please Air which was interesting, so of course I went to look for the BTOD review of it but it seems you haven't had the chance yet. Do you plan on doing a review on the Please air or perhaps you already had the chance to experience it and could share your thoughts. thanks!

The worklounge would be perfect for a high-end boardroom where one is expected to be talking and/or watching a presentation, not working on a computer. Selling an adjustable, ergonomic, chair named "Po' fit" is special. Right up there with the Chevy No Va in Spanish (or French) markets.

So I'm feeling more and more confident in my decision of ordering the Herman Miller Mirra 2 with the mesh back, adjustable arms, back support, and just about fully loaded for $1300 CAD+Tax on sale this Black Friday. Not that I care about looks over comfort, but it looks quite sleek too from the videos/pictures in Turquoise. Thank you BTOD for not only being unbiased but also very articulate on how one feels in a chair without being able to experience it in person. I've bought countless office/gaming chairs over the last decade or two that last a couple of years at best, and did no favors to my posture. If people understood the value of investing once for a lifetime-lasting product I think less of us would make mistakes. But I have yet to receive it, will let you know.

Do you guys review any steelcase gestures with headrest in your rankings? I got one recently and it feels like the headrest is such a huge plus for the gesture for comfortability, and probably would sway people to get it instead of the original without the headrest

We didn’t review with the headrest, but I have used it before. My issue for comfort stems from the seat firmness. It’s thin near the tailbone and I can’t sit in it because of that reason -GK

Blows my mind how you can get a chair for almost $1000 and it still has simple comfort issues. Point of diminishing returns in office chairs is insane.

Biggest issue is the human sitting in the chair, honestly. We are all shaped different and even chairs over $2000 will be uncomfortable for some users. Some chairs are better at fitting more people out of the box and those are usually good options if you can't try chairs before buying them -GK

I didn't like the Amia because of how the lumbar felt; it caused some discomfort, but I liked the seat. Would an Amia Air without the lumbar be good then? Removing the lumbar in the regular Amia made the back too hollow. Or should I try a Haworth Zody instead?

I've never sat in an Amia but I have a Zody and love it! I don't think it gets talked about enough. I bought one second hand as the chair I had was killing me, was going to slowly save up for a brand new Leap as I was confident I would like it until I could afford a leap but I wont be getting the Leap as the Zody is amazing!

I am curious what's the difference between Lino and Verus. (Especially with the triflex option) Verus seems like is a combination between Lino and Sayl but with bigger back? :D Looks "cooler", more herman miller type. :D

Could you review the NeueChair? I sadly bought one and now it's basically a design piece at an unused desk. The ergonomics are a joke for the price tag, maybe they work for smaller people but 5'9" definitely doesn't work. That's what I get for finding it while shopping for a Titan.

I would love to see a review of the SecretLab Neue, the OrangeBox Do or any of the orangebox chairs to be fair and maybe the interestingly looking chair from the "Silicon Valley" TV show which is a Merryfair WAU (there is also a WAU 2 model now) but it's also sold under different names and brands. Thanks.

I've been using a WAU2 in the past 3 years. It is a really, really comfortable chair, as far as comfort goes I'd pick it over the HM Mirra any day (in which I've worked for 2 years) and on par with the Haworth Zody (in which I worked for ~8 years). The Zody has a more comfortable seat but it's not mesh, so I tend to prefer the WAU. Also it is like 1/5th the price. I can spend 8-12 hours in the WAU without any discomfort. I've even slept in it for a couple hours without any discomfort. The downside is that it has very bad build quality. I had one already replaced under warranty because the chair's frame basically broke (it's pretty much all plastic - which is bad for quality but has its upside that it bends a bit where you are leaning) and the replacement's lifting mechanism already broke (in 2 years). I'm 6.1 and 200 lbs. A lighter person would probably have a much better experience due to less stress on the parts, but I absolutely don't recommend it to bigger people than me mostly because its seat width is a hard limit and it would probably more easily break under heavier people.

Is there a reason Lifeform chairs aren't reviewed by BTODtv? I tried them at a Relax The Back store, and they were super comfy, but still going for a Leap chair. Would still love to know your guys' thoughts on Lifeform.

That appears to be a "new" office chair brand that is backed by Secret Lab. Seems to have a very similar feel to the Secret Lab experience. The chairs themselves I believe are made by the same OEM in China as the Autonomous ErgoChair series. We brought a sample chair like their classic from this OEM and decided against offering it. -GK

I went all out and got a custom Steelcase Gesture /w orange leather but the leather was pretty warped... they say it's normal even though every single beauty shot shows no warp/rippling across all flat surfaces. Otherwise brilliant chair but wish arm rest material was softer

Have you compared the WorkPro 9000 mesh/fabric, WorkPro 9000 mesh/mesh, and the WorkPro 12000? Because of nerve damage, I have to have a waterfall seat and do prefer a cushioned seat so hoping you can help.

I have a strange question that I hope you can answer/try Did you try a big la-z-boy chair as a office chair?. I know it's a strange question, but I found that there are big la-z-boy chairs that have lumber support and are also big to support the neck.

Haworth Fern. No head rest. No extra lumbar support. 3d knit back. Super comfy. Super quite. Very adjustable. Especially coming from a gaming chair. Im 6'1 230 lbs. Canceled an Embody for it (saving from 500-1100) and never looked back.

If you ever want lumbar support, just shove a rolled up shirt or towel in the back and serves as a "ghetto" lumbar when you're in the mood. Got the exact same chair as you and love it.

@@crunchsixfoe Exactly. I have a larger bendable neck pillow that works great for head support if I need to rest reclined or sitting up. It also doubles an adjustable lumbar support since I can bend it in to most shapes. This chair looks and feels amazing, my cat also loves it. Threw the box away the very next day after getting it. I did also end up getting a Magis Folding chair from Herman Miller for my outside job.

i have a steelcase gesture right now but im going to return it, for some reason the lumbar support kills my back and when sitting in this chair my back is not as well supported as i thought it would have. Of course im different than the rest im 6ft8 and maybe one of the reasons why this chair wont fit me. ive tried a lot of positions and adjusments on the steelcase gesture but it isnt made for me its killing my back. no hate on steelcase but this chair for my height is making my back worse rather than relieve my backpain

@@btodtv you'd probably have to categorize it, depending on how big somebody is. For me 6'4"& 240 lb is just outside of the standard design range of most companies, but below the range of "big and tall" specific designers. I've had a lot of piston failures on chairs with an advertised capacity of 250 lb. If somebody could develop a standard fit guide for chairs like they have for bikes, that'd be really cool. It least give you an idea where to start, dimension-wise.

Celle is underrated, don't know how much it cost when it was still being produced. If you find a cheap one fully loaded, it'll be a good find!

@@freedonx Yeh for sure. After trying, Aeron, gesture, amia, secretlab titan, leap v2. It's the best overall chair for me. Feels like a chair made from a full grown adult too. Unlike a lot of the other chairs that tend to feel small/narrow. Found mine for 250 fully fabric all options. I'm happy with it.

I appreciate your reviews, but feel left out, as your assessments don't apply to individuals of my stature. Can you please include the opinion of a short woman, for example a 5'2" female, in your rankings/reviews. Since you do have a tall man offering his opinion, it would be nice to also hear the opinion of a short women. The overall impressions provided by medium and tall men don't inform what a short woman would experience--our height, weight and body shape is so much different. I feel that we make up a large part of society and manufactures and retailers should take note that we are also their customers. Maybe you could rank each chair based on the body size of users--men over 5'10, men/women 5'6" and a short women range. But I do thank you for all of your videos. They are very informative and educational.

Steelcase chairs should be docked an entire tier for not offering a consistent warranty for their chairs. Considering that plenty of people outside of NA watch your videos, you guys should think about global warranty too.

@@btodtv My home office has a standing desk set up and a chair that can work at any height would be amazing so I could easily get in and out of the chair while standing for 8 hours of tasking. But the market is limited and difficult to navigate.

There is a Brazilian brand called Cavaletti and they have a chair called "Way Gamer" and it's very unique, it's been one of the most comfortable I've tried and they have a very ingenious lumbar support system. If you can get your hands on one I would be super curious to see your opinion

Hah! Told ya the Mellet wasn't so bad for the money. I mean, I've moved on to the Hayworth Fern, but the Mellet did me some good for the year I was using it. I'll always recommend it to those looking for a $200 bargain.

In my opinion the CXO Nightingale's build quality is out of this world. I paid $1000 Canadian which is like $750USD and it has a lifetime warranty, the chair's absolutely amazing. I will agree the arm pads aren't soft like the rest of the chair but it hasn't caused any skin issues for me.

Why is it so hard to find a decent chair with a full back/headrest to recline in? Everything seems to be shoulder height and designed for short people.

Let face it, in order to have a "good" chair according to this guys, be ready to go bankrupt. Like come on guys, not all of us are rich and have disposable cash to burn. I get it, the more you pay the better the chair. Shit, just watching you guys video just made me realize, it's either have health defects (from cheap less than a grand chair) or be bankrupt.

This seems like a stretch. It's an investment into your health and if you sit for 8+ hours a day, its a small investment versus how much it is used -GK

@@btodtv Well, that is the thing here. Most people can't afford $1000 chairs. And based on your videos, in order to have good posture, avoid back pain, and overall avoid any health defects, it is a must to pay the big bucks for a good chair. If we don't have the cash for a good chair (according to your videos) then we are pretty much SOL.

Why are you just making stuff up? We recommend chairs for under $1000 all the time. We have a ton of videos doing so and sell a lot of chairs under that price point. If you need help finding a chair for a certain price, just ask. Attacking people for things that aren’t even true makes zero sense. -RB

honestly the fact that some chairs are several thousand dollars and still aren't comfortable just goes to show humans are not meant to sit in a chair for long periods of time.
