I had both a type xx and a speedmaster. However, after Breguet service cost me S$3800 for my type XX transatlantic in Singapore, I sold it. That’s half what I paid for the Breguet. Speedy servicing costs a under a third of the breguets service cost!
The watch was working fine when I sent it in, but I do believe some parts were changed. Unfortunately, I did not ask the details. It had to be sent back to Switzerland for servicing, I only received it several months later. However, the service did include a 24 months warranty from swatch group.
I totally agree and would go further to say that the proliferation of Daytonas has brought it much closer to the Aeronovale. In particular, an early example with the uncrossed "t" is, to my mind, sure to increase substantially in value.
Good video and I love this piece but I lacked more info about the movement.. you didn’t show any view of case-back, at one point you seemed to have been hiding it on purpose so, I though it would come later in the video but it never did.. We need to see the movement, if it has the sapphire back and we need to know what the accuracy is, what the power reserve is, etc. :) Now, I only know it is a flyback chrono and that it is Lemania based..
Good points. The case back was pretty boring, not display. I should’ve filmed it. I think I just forgot to or perhaps I did film and lost the clip. I generally love to go more in detail with movements. I’ve tried that a couple times but every time my RU-vid viewer rentention graphs tell me that’s when most people leave 😅 I’ve got to experiment more with having better detail and keeping it interesting I guess.
I would like to ask you If you can cover Rolex Yacht-Master 42 - --Falcon's Eye dial. I am interested to hear your opinion since we do not hear anything about this watch.
Good question. I couldn’t actually say. I’ve heard Omegas speedy coaxial calibres are quite expensive to service. I’ve also heard more watchmakers are experienced with lemania based movements since they’re really old. I guess third party watchmaker wise, breguet might be cheaper or at least the same cost?
Please don't compare the SPEEDY with this overpriced and tacky Breguet that two services will cost you more than it's market value.SPEEDY TRUE CLASSIC BREGUET=TRASH!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
I always wanted to add a Breguet to my collection and bought one recently from Japan. However, I wasn't that impressed. It looked like any other chronograph that I own. BTW, not really sure why the French military needs a precision chronograph, as they quit in WW2.
