I think it was more traumatic for the "winning side" than the Kingdom's.

I'm starting to believe that somehow Ains intelligence stat is affecting his behavior like his emotion surpression, everything he did during this battle and meeting with Jirchniv was a perfect show of power. -summon a whole army of powerful undead instantly wherever he wants. -cast a spell that can end 240000 soldiers in a few minutes. -1v1 Gazef and kill him in a second.

They say "They only good war, is a quick and brutal one." To do the most damage possible, yet within such little time. To destroy your enemy so thoroughly, so horribly with such speed, that anyone who learns of, or better yet survived such horror, would be hard pressed to ever wish to engage such a foe ever again. To break one's fighting spirit, that is how you win in the art of violence.

This has got to be the number 1 most badass entrance in anime. Anyway this is one of the series where it is hard for the anime adaptation to bring out the full details mentioned in the Light Novels because a huge chunk of the writings are always as inner monologues. Ainz asked for an applause because he was so thrilled at setting a new record to the number of summoned Dark Youngs. Meanwhile, the Empire soldiers were all praying for the safety of the Kingdom soldiers in their hearts. Jircniv originally wanted to use this as a gauge of Ainz strength, thinking that single spell should be some kind of really powerful fireball that kills at most a thousand. Gazef who knew Ainz's power better had a really bad feeling and tried to warn and persuade his king that Ainz was super dangerous and to give in to his demand but not even Gazef had expected this.

Just imagine how much more epic this scene would be if it was not only drawn better and more seriously, but animated better. I get that drawing massive armies and huge enemies and then animating them well is hard, but this is....it just does not do this amazing story justice. He actually killed like 300 thousand people cause the army had 70 thousand people and the other army had 240 thousand people. It was so hilarious when Jirniv thought that he could kill even 3000 people with one powerful spell XD

This is by far the best visualization of power that I have ever seen in an anime. Yea, you got AOT, but everything doesn't come together in the same way. The instant death of an entire wing of an army, the fear of the allies and enemies alike, the stampeding creatures...Kugane Maruyama is an incredible writer.

And also how the guy in-between these clips says 'Wow, what a devastating spell, to kill so many men instantly', and Ainz says 'that wasn't the spell, that was the sacrifice to summon the Dark Young'; that was just a spell component.

To those that don't know, Shub-Niggurath is a cosmic god, the creation of Cosmic-Horror writer H.P Lovecraft. If I said Cthulhu, would that ring a bell? Yeah, that, and Shub-Niggurath, among many other gods like Azatoth, etc, was created by H.P Lovecraft. Legend among horror authors.

I may have to rewatch Overlord. Also, does anyone else feel the same way as me about Overlord? The first 2 seasons were like, amazing. Then, season 3 & 4 weren't bad, per se, but, there's just _so_ much talking? I don't mind a slow burn season and dialogue, but, it's been this was for 2 seasons now. We got maybe, what, one good fight, 2 max? We definitely didn't get anything this grand. Hoping S5 gives us some next level scenes! I imagine it will, S3/4 did a lot of "setting up". I think it was left with those 2 mem thinking they were fighting Ainz when they were just fighting that weird dude under Ainz that looks like him. I can't wait to see their faces realise they didn't even fight Ainz💀

I feel like the cgi works from an in universe perspective, we know that some rules from Yggdrasil still work in the new world so I always just assumed that the cgi is animations from Yggdrasil that carried over into the new world because there is no way that the game could handle the armies said to be fielded by nazarick
