I got the DMD Vintage and really like it. It’s super comfortable and I’ve got a large head size so it doesn’t make me bubble up! I do also have their clear visor with an elastic band that holds it onto the helmet, which is useful as I wear spectacles.

A great review. Really informative. Thanks. You're right about the lack of standardization in the sizing between manufacturers. This is particularly disconcerting when buying online. I have five helmets and they al all showing different sized on the labels. My head zize is about 59.5 cm, so a large helmet should fit perfetly, but one of my carbon full-face dirt bike helmets reads "XXL", which is ridiculous. I got it in a store and just bought the one that fit best and it turned out to be an XXL. Pretty crap.

I have to have vents and a drop down sun visor. I also like a face shield as I hate wearing glasses or goggles. I agree with webBikeWorld's pick of the Scorpion EXO CT220 as best full featured open face helmet. And for me, it's the best fitting helmet I've ever had, and I've had, and have quite a few.

Thank you for the review. But you really need to include the internal shape information (long oval, medium oval, or round oval). It really is the starting point for many of us.

Never been a big fan of the Ducati Scrambler but I would love to have a go on that desert sled.

I'm loving it. Like you, I wasn't that keen on the Scrambler but this is a lot different, especially when you see the two bikes next to each other. There's a lot of good reviews out there but I might try my hand at one anyway. Cheers, Andrew

The DMD helmet has a defect on the rubber trim on left side - how common is that?

I own three out of those five. I prefer the Hedon. I have the gladiator model. Looks like bronze metal leaf. The pictures don’t do it justice.also Their curved face shield looks custom, awesome. Many choices for customizing too. Pricey but worth it. Great video thanks

All those helmets you have lined up are all Medium sizes?

Yes, all Medium. I was trying to keep them the same so you can compare like for like. That being said, the comparison would change depending on what size they all were. For example the DMD Vintage in Large would be in the larger of the 2 shells and is a fair bit bigger than the very slim line smaller of the 2 shells that the Medium is in.

The bell 500 is not a low profile as they state it is believe me. It sits terrible on the head.

It depends on your head shape, the size you take, how well the helmet fits. I would recommend wearing ear plugs in any case!
