Thank you very much for your reviews of Oral B electric tooth brushes. I have been using older models for close to 30 years. Each lasted for about 10 years. With 4 different product lines, it became very difficult to compare them. The Oral B website pushes one towards their latest product line is when I had no desire to go for IoTs, thank you very much! Tomorrow I shall get one, Pro line. I do not want to exchange smses with my own toothbrush. Maybe for a beginner, for get their tooth brushing technique right it would be a good idea or for a nerd. One thing I feel is never really covered in toothbrush reviews is durability. I have the Oral-B Pro 2 2000, I've had it for a couple of years and I am absolutely convinced that the motor is not even close to how firm/tight it felt when it was new. I understand that most of these mid to high tier brushes achieve mostly similar results and share the same technology, but I would really love to know if, for example, the iO series use better components and materials which make the vibration motor stand the test of time better. I feel like my Pro 2 2000 vibrates like a 20 quid battery toothbrush these days, or like it's perpetually low on battery when it isn't. It feels like it doesn't vibrate as fast or firmly, and like less of the vibration energy is transferring to the bristles, so it feels more like smushing the bristles around my teeth rather than feeling a micro scrubbing motion.
@ElectricTeeth

Thanks for the comment and feedback on your experience. We get quite a few comments from users about different problems and reliability issues that affect toothbrushes, from all brands and we use this data where appropriate to provide insight and guide our recommendations. I can't say that what you suggest is a very common comment, but it has been mentioned before. We try to test brushes as much as we can but with all the different models we are limited by how many we can test etc. I've got friends and family that have been using similar models without issue for several years. I myself have the been using the iO Series 9 for nearly 3 years without any reliability concerns.

Thanks for the video. Please advise which toothbrush to choose Oral-B smart 7 or Oral-B IO6? I have a lot of fillings in my teeth, and I want a toothbrush that creates less extra vibration.
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 2 года назад
Both brushes are safe to use on teeth with fillings. The motors in the brush are lightly different, but ultimately do the same job. I can't specifically state that one offers less vibrations. The iO6 feels a little more gentle in the brushing, so if I had to pick between the 2 based on this, I would go for the iO6.

Hi! I am considering couple of options to buy between the pro 2 2000, pro 3000 and smart 1 from Woolworths, all are similar in price and have the sensitive brushing mode, which one do you think is the better option for sensitive teeth?
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth Год назад
I think you might be in Australia based on the models mentioned? To be fair all 3 will do the job. The Smart 1 benefits from Bluetooth connectivity which isn't that beneficial. Thus, between the Pro 2 2000 and The Pro 3000. Pro 2 2000 is a bit more grippy, but harder to keep clean. It is our top recommendation for Australia. The Pro 3000 might just take the edge with the more minimal design though.

I'm a bit wary of new platforms. In store today I asked whether the new IOs were selling well. They aren't. 15 years ago I forked out on a brand new release the Triumph. It had a new charging platform rather than th prong going into the centre of the brush one had to site the handle into the bas as the base coils were situated round the outside of the handle. I only got a year or two out of that one as the charger bases were prone to failure and used replacements were expensive. The brush fell out the charger easily. The Triumphs didn't last long on the market.
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth Год назад
Hi Frank. Interesting and somewhat understandable. I've been using the iO9 for 2.5 years and no issue with the charging feature. I don't have any sales figures, but I think the iO range is doing ok, based on some of the stuff I have seen. Given the number of different models now available I find it hard to believe it isn't selling well. Not sure where you asked and what insight that person had into the sale figures. The more affordable models will do better because of the price for sure and it is these are our top recommendation.

Hi Jon, thank you for this video. I'm wondering why you never test the Oral-B Pulsonic series? I know that you prefer the oscillating-rotating mode of action, but I'd be curious to hear your opinion about the Pulsonic Slim, given that you usually appreciate travel-friendly designs.
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 2 года назад
Hi. To be honest it isn't something we have given priority to due to the wider range of other Oral-B brushes. Being quite frank, I try to serve the majority of people as best as possible and there are other products more in demand, so these typically get tested first. I would love to test them all, but only so much time 😀 Pulsonic isn't widely sold in the UK and USA too which also has some impact. Most Pulsonic models sold in central Europe. Probably not the answer you wanted, but the honest one.
@RavaillacLeRegicide
@RavaillacLeRegicide 2 года назад
@@ElectricTeeth Pulsonic Slim is probably the most successful Oral-B in Western Europe, where I live. It can be the best of both worlds: sonic like Philips, with strong vibrations like Oral-B, that give you that super clean feeling. The device is very slim, the replacement heads are cheaper, and it comes with a charging travel case or a slim case. I'm pretty sure that a video would be popular across continental Europe 😏

Are any of these brushes dual voltage? Looking to use an electric brush for 220v and 110v. Thanks
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth Год назад
The brushes themselves from my understanding work in regions of different voltages, the issue is the charging stand supplied. A US purchased brush will typically come with a 110-130V charger, whereas a brush purchased in the EU comes with a 220-240v charger. Thus you might need to purchase a separate charger for a different voltage region. Only the iO7, 8 & 9 come with a charger that supports both voltages.

@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth Год назад
Tricky one to be honest with you. Fillings shouldn't have any impact on tooth sensitivity. Some people are more prone to sensitive teeth or just feel the vibrations more. You are probably going to experience sensitivity with Oral-B and Sonicare. Sonicare can feel more gentle as their cleaning action is less intense. It is going to be a bit of trial and error to be honest. Depending on your location, the brands do offer money back guarantees if you are not happy/don't get on with them, so this could be something to consider.

@@ElectricTeeth , I am from Europe. I already have one I think is the first OB Vitality but I find it a little uncomfortable when it comes to noise and vibration and I thought maybe the new ones are more ok. What is the difference between Oral-B Genius X and IO6 ? Also I am afraid that besides the fact that they are smart, there is no difference as engine and vibrations between Vitality and the Smart ones(genius and io6).
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth Год назад
To save a long explanation of the differences, the key thing is that the iO6 feels a little softer & more gentle in the mouth compared to the Genius X. Not a huge difference, but some. The cleaning action is similar, but different compared to the Vitality you have. But it is ultimately more similar that it is different. If you find the Vitality's cleaning action a bit uncomfortable, I suspect you will find the same and worse with the Genius X and iO6.

This is a horrible comparison.. I got a few different models and I can assure you that they perform differently. Some have higher isolations per second.

Indeed they do, but the impact on the actual cleaning results tends not to be clinically significant.

The truth is we don't have extensive experience of all the models in this region. Hence we don't give a recommendation. We feel it better not to advise, when we haven't tried and tested all those models and have a good understanding, than to give a recommendation without a deep knowledge of that market. 👍
