For the price this is great ! Im fortunate to have a wired network throughout the house but if I couldnt get the cables upstairs Id certainly be looking at something like this to get the job done. Thanks for the video as always Mike 😃

It's good that there are separate Wifi and Bluetooth cards. I haven't had to buy one because I rarely use Bluetooth, but Wifi is a must for me when I buy a new motherboard, along with a digital postcode and 3 M.2 slots.

Thanks for the video, current I just buy a £7 wifi dongle thats works well, bhe added bluetooth and better wifi is very nice for the price. I think for anything above budget builds I'm going to add this. One bought through your link, and added to my pc parts amazon list. Pleasure to support your great channel.

Definitely recommend these over the often useless usb adapters. Do as Mike says and get one if these if you need wifi / bluetooth on a board with said features missing.

we have a new Wifi 6E one on test at the moment and it is REALLY quick! Pretty much the same speed as my wired LAN

@@mikesunboxing WiFi 6 is definitely getting right up there. Stability is still a concern but along came wired Lan 2.5 & saved my day. Thumbs up to wifi 6 though.

Thank you very much for this review, Mike and Kath! I wanted to buy one of those Wifi antennas with my old FX system (before the incident), however, I read it was Intel compatible only (it was in 2019). Then... things happened (pandemics, CPU and MOBO out...) Anyway.

Hi Mike. Could you use this card to tether to your phone's mobile data internet? My mobile phone's data connection is much faster than what I get coming from my router. I have a generous data allowance on my phone and I wonder could this be a potential solution to the slow broadband endemic to the area I live in.

Hey there! I bought this a couple of weeks ago since I’m renting and unfortunately don’t have access to LAN. Once I installed it, it started working like a charm. I didn’t even installed the drivers yet, but should I install them now? I’m in a “if it it’s not broken, don’t fix it” mentality, but what should I do? I don’t want for the drivers to screw anything up.

you can get a usb bluetooth card, but most if not all PCie ones are combo cards i think

Now this i can use :-) Still using my good old trusty PCI card(Ralink RT61) max = 150Mbps. Not a problem now at 10/1 Mb connection - but getting fiber soon.

Hello Mike, just thought I'd add this, i moved my pc so had to go wifi, so bought a pretty good wifi card but once i got it running my second m.2 stopped working, many hours of head scratching later i could not use that pci slot with that m.2 occupied, the sad part the pci under my gpu was still ok to use, so a clever little extension cable from the pci, very tight under gpu and got it working! But what a pain learning that! Motherboard msi b550m mortar (should of got wifi one).

Seems a nice little card. If you have some time, can you test the bluetooth to see if there is some delay with sound in video? That is something that bugs me with inexpensive network card.

no obvious lag even in RU-vid which for some reason causes problems with BT lag with some devices

Very interested in adding bluetooth. Fitted gigabyte version to dters pc used in her bedroom snd speeds are great. Bluetooth links Amazon echo show so can even listen to movies sat on bed! Sadly my mb only has one usb which is used by case. Been looking for m2-e key version but versions very & only seller has bad reviews! Thanks for taking time Mike & Kath👍

not that i know of sorry, at least none that have useable speeds, some smart plugs and devices have tiny internal ones but the data throughput is tiny

The Ziyituod model of similar spec / same chipset is £19.46, plus an extra 5% voucher deal. PS. What 5GHz channel are you using, the channel rules are complex, so the default is usually "auto compatibilty", confining it to the free for all 36-48 range which puts everyone on one super-wide channel - other ranges are available using "auto performance" which selects from the additional DFS (Dynamic Frequency Select) channels which are shared with radar and require a "watch and shift" function. NB. Some devices can be slow / reluctant to pick up a DFS channel - my Xiaomi Note 9 takes a long time to find it unless I flip the wifi on and off

Im usung ancient arctic micro bluetooth usb dongle and it gets the job done. For the wifi, I have TP link-WA850RE repeater. its pluged near pc and connected with pc via ethernet cable. Works great. Faster than usb dongle wifi adapters

I bought a TP-link AC1200 wifi extender, set it up in 5 minutes, plugged it into the wall in my bedroom and plugged my Cat 6 rj45 cable into the bottom of it. On sale $30 Canadian.

very slightly depending on the brand, but the better components and antenna normally justify the cost, and also in an onboard one fails you have to RMA the whole board which is a real pain

@@mikesunboxing that's my situation now. Gigabyte wants me to rma my entire motherboard because my Bluetooth sometimes stops working until I reboot. I'd rather just do this than go months without my pc and having to take the whole pc apart.

Thanks for responding Mike, but it didnt work. It stopped once I changed internet providers. Our phones and laptops are picking up the wifi fine but the pc with this network card isn't. @@mikesunboxing

To make life easier, I tend to only buy the "wi-fi" versions of a motherboard. In my experience it is cheaper, and easier to set up. As always, thanks for the great review, Mike!

yes that makes life a lot easier and often the price difference isn't huge, especially now with some boards having wifi 6 or 6E on board which is actually quite expensive to buy as a standalone card

make sure either 2.4ghz or 5ghz is selected and maybe adjust the position of the antenna

The problem is that to activate the bluetooth it needs to connect a cable that takes the place of the front usbs of the case. How to get around this problem?

I just installed this but the Bluetooth ( Intel Wireless Bluetooth ) is always showing in the ( safely remove hardware and eject media ) option in system tray ,which is very annoying. Is it the same for you? please confirm

I have bought these in the past with no problems, the last one i bought didn`t work with Linux.I had to buy another card that was listed as working with Linux.

You mentioned the USB version, and stated you have to unplug them and plug them back in, there is a setting in Windows that can stop this.. Open Power Options - Change Advanced Power Settings - USB Settings - USB Selective Suspend Settings - and set to "Disabled". That should help.

Grrr I still can't stomach that into music. I like buying mainboards that have wifi on the board, but if you don't have that, this is the way to go for more flexibility. Don't most wifi cards also support bluetooth or are those usually other peripherals? I guess it can be either or. Hey have a GREAT day Mr. Unboxing! See you in the next one.

there are a lot of combo cards out there now especially in the PCIe type although it is very difficult to find a combo one on USB for some reason. have a good day my friend

@@mikesunboxing That's a good point that you can just you a USB device in a jam and temporarily instead of sticking a PCIE device in there all the time. Kinda like how I use my USB optical drive, I probably use it once every 2 years...

I went back to a Hard wired conection because the USB wifi cards are useless in my experience Disconnects often and interferes with my Bluetooth audio and other things the annoying Chime evertime its unrecognised etc I just got a 10 meter White ethernet cable and Feed it round my Skirting Boards upto the Pc Doesn't look as Clean as wireless obviously but its hardly noticable and i never have them problems again lol That PCI-E WiFi card though would be better and surly more stable i might look into one PS 2.5 Ghz is Best in most cases because Most Tech like Ring Doorbells CCTV etc all use 2.5 so for me it's best

I bought one of these, mine is only running 0.18mbps download speed, not sure why but i installed it into my gfs computer and its only getting 4mbps download speed. It's pretty crap

I wouldn't touch any wireless with this chipset its discontinued also has issues with with latest windows updates.

Don't but that POS Ubit card. The Bluetooth does not work on windows 10 or 11 and windows does not recognize or support the Bluetooth half. The WIFI part of it will work fine with the updated intel drivers.

@@mikesunboxing I thought that might be the problem as well, so I sent it back to Amazon and they sent me another duplicate card, but I am getting the same problem with the second card. The wifi works fine but the Bluetooth is not detected. The only detection I get is Unknown device under the USB controllers with error code 10. Would be quite a coincidence to get this problem with both cards. I have tried updated drivers from the intel web page as well as legacy drivers. I have moved it to different PCI/USB slots on my MB and even tried to get it to work on my older PC and neither card worked properly on either PC. I don't even want the wifi. I wanted the Bluetooth so I can use my Beats headphones. So, for the reason that with 2 cards not working I still have to recommend people avoid the Ubit brand especially this specific card. I ended up using a TP-Link card and have not had any issues.
