The Irish Guy takes a look at the best player your Premier League club's manager has played with, like Ole Gunnar Solksjaer linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo or Frank Lampard working with David Silva.
For Roy Hodgson: Malcolm MacDonald, who played for Fulham, Luton, Newcastle, Arsenal and England, he is Newcastles 5th highest goalscorer of all time, he also won Englands golden boot in 1975 and 1977, and from 421 appearances he amassed 204 goals.
3:00 IMO Peak David Silva was 17/18, where Pep played him beside De Bruyne in a tandem role and they completely ripped up the league from midfield. Also, Roy Hodgson was in Crystal Palace's youth setup with Steve Kember. Does that count?
The Best Player Roy Hodgson Ever Played With Was Brian Whitehouse, a forward for Crystal Palace, He Joined In November 1963, He Then Moved To Charlton In 1966
Maybe? Alan Morton (born 1950)played in the third division with Fulham and scored. Morton holds the modern record for a single season goalscoring for Ashford Town (Kent), scoring 46 goals in 59 games in all competitions in 1972/73. Morton played a total of 361 games for Woking in all competitions, scoring 178 goals. Runner up: John Finnegan (Scottish) played in the Scottish top flight with Clyde and represented Millwall in football league.
Best player that Daniel Farke played with is probably Mike Barten who won a DFB Cup with Werder Bremen in 99 (only as squad player), Playing a DFB Cup Final vs. Bayern in 2000 and a handful of champions league games. They played together at Wilhelmshaven in 2004/2005
for roy hodgson , my grandad used to live in kent in the early 70s and watch ashford town sometimes , so i’ve asked him for a player, he said there was a midfielder called nigel croft, does that count ?
Gotta be Zola for Lampard bro, though I wouldn't argue with Cech, Terry, Makalele, Drogba, Aguero either, hell I still maintain that the Chelsea version of Mata was as good as Silva not sure what happened to him at United
@@reddoyt3948 Mata doesn't have the pace to play out wide. He is a number 10 but Man United needed a left footed winger and he was the only left footed player. Since most teams have switched to a 4 33, you push numbers out wide
Lampard has played with Shevchenko, Robben ,Deco , Makelele, Carvalho and Desaily apart from the obvious choices of Drogba, Cech and Terry. How he puts Silva over any of this players I dont know... Even if we consider Shevchenko had forgot football during his Chelsea time he stil has a bloody Ballandor(Second place was Deco)!!! There are also the two World Cup winners with France and one of them being the best ever in his position, a solid center back that has won everything and Robben who should have won a Ballandor in 2014.But instead he chose David Silva... Even Thodoros Zagorakis has came closer to win a Ballandor...
For Roy Hodgson choose Joe Carolan he played for Manchester United/Brighton and and also the Ireland National team and also made 429 appearances for Tonbridge Ps he’s my uncle
Roy Hogson played along Dixie Dean in the 1925/26 season during a loan move for a club that no longer exists. Dixie was a young talent at the time as the aging Roy Hogson was at the later stages of his playing career.

Nah he has played with Heracles a few thousend years earlier. He was at his peak during that time while Heracles had just started playing for Argos F.C. a second divition team.
Roy played with a man called William Finch He was a defender who could use both feet and scored about 20 goals and he was well known around the Gravesend area
Joe Carolan. He played with Roy Hodgson in the 1965 season for Tombridge. He played for Man united's youth team. He won their FA youth cup. He also played for Brighton, and Canterburry. He also earned two cps for Ireland.
For Hodgson I'd say Ernie Yard because in four european cup appearances he scored three goals and he was a pretty good striker in the English Divisions.
The best player Hodgson ever played with was Micky Brown, a winger who played for the likes of Fulham, Colchester and Millwall. He did have a goal to game ratio of 1:5 which isnt fantastic but at Wealdstone he scored 42 in 92 which isnt bad for a winger. He played with Hodgson in the 72/73 campaign at Maidstone Utd in which Wikipedia couldn't be arsed to drag up his stats. So yeah hope this helps
I loved it when he arrived at Chelsea he was like "Kid your manager is kinda the best player on the club so we had to choose another club he played for only half a season"
Best player Roy Hudson ever player with is may dup, played with him under Crystal Palace, joined Roma scored 11 goals in his 1st season the Scottish st, the season afterwards scored 2 and rejoined palace before retiring the next season
do a team of the best players every manager has managed at a team. one for each manager, pick the best 11 managers by which ones have managed the best players
I think I’ve found one genuine contender. I think I could be wrong but the best player Roy Hodgson has ever played with is: (probably) Alan Morton (born 1950) (at Ashford Town) (Kent) (1972-73) played in the third division with Fulham and scored. Morton holds the modern day record for goals scored in a single season for Ashford Town (Kent), scoring 46 goals in 59 games in all competitions in 1972/73. Morton also played a total of 361 games for Woking in all competitions, scoring 178 goals.
In case you make a vid about me, I’ve played for the same team as a current Welsh international and another guy who was at Swindon youth but he was binned because of his drug habits, he was top quality tho, best I’ve ever seen. You can decide who’s better. Cheers.

Of course Malcolm MacDonald is Roy Hodgson’s best player he ever played with. 5th highest goalscorer for Newcastle, played for 3 super clubs (Arsenal, Fulham and Newcastle) and won two golden boots for England’s national team. Cannot choose anyone else :) (BTW, he played with Hodgson as a junior at Tonbridge Angels)
Awesome List Irish guy✊. I just don't agree with the Lampard 1. John Terry captained Chelsea's Golden Era. He won 5 Leagues as Club Captain, 1 UCL & 1 Runner Up, 1 Europa League, 5 FA Cups, 3 League Cups. Not to mention one of England's Greatest Defenders and Captained the National Team. I would have gone for Him over Silva. Not to mention he is popular with the WAGS😂😂
You could have mentioned Arjen Robben for Frank Lampard. Robben might have not hit is peak at his Chelsea stint but went to be one of the best players in his position.

I can't find you a player but I can tell you the manager Arthur Rowe the main reason he got shipped out because Roy Hodgson wanted the manager on corners I get the feeling somebody might have been on a few of these 🍻🍻🍻 back in the 60s
The best player that Hodgson ever played with was Charlie Smith at Tonbridge in 1967-68 before he moved up 6 divisions in a transfer to Leyton Orient. Please can I get a shout-out 🙏🙏
Alan Humphreys is probably the best player Roy Hodgson played with, but I'm not sure that he played along with him because he left Ebbsfleed United the following year. Edit:oh yeah he was a goalkeeper, search it up
