@@Duval-In-The-Wall Nah, he actually had talent, but for the reasons I stated above didn't fulfill the potential of that talent. Over hyped players are players that are average/below average talent wise and are in a good period of form so people think they're better than they actually are.
I know Ashley Young was overhyped, but he did end up lasting a decade at Old Trafford and was wanted by Antonio Conte at Inter Milan at the age of 34. Not a bad player at all.
Hi guys! I'm an 18 year old footballer who is documenting my journey in becoming the best player that i could possibly be. If you guys can check out my content and follow my journey that would be amazing, thank you for reading!
@@justjames391 go to wikipedia and check the clubs he played for. Felgueiras is not even a Primeira Liga club, at Benfica he never even played, was loaned out 3 seasons in a row... a true world beater!! I guess that if 109 people say I should eat trash then it must really mean that I must... STOP BEING SHEEP!! Create your own opinios, cattle
@@richiemckeever6635 all by himself... and no luck involved... dude I'm portuguese and I think we had better centre halves than him, but hey he won a Eureopean Championship he must be the best central defender of all time for Portugal... Luis Figo never won sh*t with Portugal, so I guess he is the overhyped one and not Fonte
@@darkleader5962 liverpool had Loveren Milner and Henderson playing every week there good players but are they Ronaldo Giggs Rooney Van der Sar Scholes and Ferdinand
(Southampton fan) Both fonte and lambert came through league 1 to the prem with us and despite the money spent kept their places in the first team. Fonte was a great leader and captain, lambert scored goals for fun for seasons on end until he left us. Both were aging as they left, and fonte is now playing very well for lille in France. Questionable additions in my eyes
Imagine Germany having to choose between Ballack, Schweinsteiger or Bullard. That’s the equivalent of having to pick between an Aston Martin, Ferrari or a Fiat Panda.
The Jack Colback bit had me rolling 😂 the only thing that was missing was the fact he left Newcastle's rivals Sunderland due to "not wanting to be in a relegation battle" and ended up getting them relegated in his first season 😂
PyroMedic Janas The match ended 1-1 hardly a humiliation, that being said we’ll let USA have that 1 point since that’s the only thing they can get England > USA
Shaun Day yeah I agree with u. All the US fans, including myself, would love nothing more than to see the manager sacked. We have promising young players but a terrible manager.
PyroMedic Janas As an Englishman myself I don’t really like the US (footballing wise anyway) some of your fans are arrogant when most countries don’t see you as a threat and take the piss out of you. No offence to you since you don’t really seem like that type of person but it seems like they bring that arrogance from other sports but this sport is like no other and they’re a small fish in a big pound if you know what I mean, you should go a well established manager to manage your team someone like a Manuel Pellegrini (someone of that caliber if possible).
And that was also a time where Chelsea were desperate for a new striker since Morata couldn’t score to save his life. Wilson was in good form at the time too. If I remember correctly that was the same window where Morata went to Atlético and they brought Higuain in
Ilijan Smokovski Raiola (Pogba’a agent) said that Pogba wants to stay a few weeks ago I believe. After signing Bruno and United’s form picking up it seems to have changed Pogba’s stance a bit
@@1000herecomesthepain thank God we didn't pull that trigger. I would have been heated. For that money we could have gotten a proven world beater who was younger.
Dark Leader ...by saying ‘most’ this post implies that it’s way over 50%...infact...to be ‘most’ I reckon it would have to be closer to 70%...and that is bollocks...
Would English people care, he didn't play in their youth teams all the way up to u21, it hurt Irish people because he was good enough for Ireland but decided to play for England and he hasn't been capped at all.
@@JohnHolywell They never keep quite they are always bragging about those rising talents. Comparing them to players, saying they r next superstar or specific elite player.Their media and pundits should take examples from other leagues
An extremely so fantastic video of about mid table average footballers, good friend!!!By the way, some of the Real Madrid's board of directors had a characteristic issue with legendary Barcelona and AC Milan,Botafogo and Atletico Paranaiense midfielder Ronaldinho,he is an extremely so handsome man in his life forever and every generations that we would be born!!!:-D
I don’t agree with the Fraser one. He hasn’t done well this season, but he admitted his head wasn’t in the right mind set. Also hazard has had a shocking season before, doesn’t mean he is rubbish
jose fonte... what about his role for lille in getting them champions leagues ??? and of course the euro 2016 medal. he is still getting a place in a club in europe’s top 5 leagues at the age of 36
Tbf in 2008 that Real Madrid team was dog shit so the Ashley Young comment wasn’t necessarily out of place. They went 8 years never getting past the CL last 16 in that period
Ashley Young being here is such a horrendous take - the man did fairly alright as a winger, including keeping someone like Di Maria out of the team based on form and is now almost 35 and still playing for a team challenging for the title in a top 5 league while most ofthe players in this list were stuck in the back arse of *insert country here* by their 30s
It's always easy to look at things in hindsight, isn't it? :) So how about you making a list of mid table players that got a lot of momentum going for them as being the next best thing, of which you think they wouldn't have gotten any further than the likes of Burnley 5 years from now?
All fair enough, but Charlie Adam was a genuine talent, and he was not rejected by Rangers. They were sorry to see him go. I felt he did pretty well at Liverpool too.
Richardson did alright for us at villa. Considering how poor and the overall don't give a crap attitude of the squad, he was almost the only one who attempted to beat arsenal in the fa Cup final. Can't do much at left back where he played for us.
Tbf on his day Andy Carrol is brilliant. Had he not have had so many injuries he would have been a massive player for Liverpool. Some of the goals he’s scored are absolute worldie. But he’s made of glass and everytime he comes back from injury, just like Jack Wilshere, you’re literally waiting for his next injury. It’s a shame because he is quality.
Jose Fonte was not overhyped TBF, was very solid in our first season up, then didn’t look out of place at all beside Toby and VVD. His move to West Ham didn’t work, but since then he’s also went into Lille’s team and has shot them up the table
Big AC was a top player at Newcastle and didn’t want to leave but when Mike Cashley heard £35m from Liverpool he’d have his bags packet before they could finish the sentence! Didn’t have a bad career despite injuries but it would of been better if he had of stayed
Did this man say Wright-Phillips didn't cut it in MLS? Yes, he had a injury-hampered 2019, but he was a beast in his prime (We're talking MLS standards)
"Itd be akin to us losing ashley young and gabby agbonlahor...no it wouldnt". In context for a 6th-8th place team, losing their best players at their peak, it would have been.
Ashely Young was not OVERHYPED back then. He were a great player compared to his club in Aston Villa. He made 43 assists alone in the PL while playing for Aston Villa, which Aston Villa have not been able to replace at all .. not even close since Ashley Young changed club to Manchester United! Only players like Lampard, Fabregas and Nani made about the same amount of assists in the PL within those years.
