Lets do some testing with these premium pozidriv impact bits: Makita Impact Gold, Milwaukee Shockwave, Wiha Diamond Torsion, Bosch Impact Control, Wera Impaktor and Parkside.
I will screw down 50 6x70mm chipboard screws with each one of these bits to see how they pertform. Later in the video I will test the maximum torque each of the bits can handle.

Wow, that was informative! It's hard to find good info on youtube anymore. I use Milwaukee power tools but haven't had a chance to use any of their bits because I have so many Makita bits. Thanks, for the video👍

Good test. You should have redone the first test after screwing the 50 screws, although realistically all these bits would need 500 screws each to show wear, all are good quality. People, don't buy cheap bit sets, a single wera bit costs 0.50 - 0,60 euro

To me, it looked like some of the bits began to cam upwards up and out of engagement with the screw before failure occurred. This may have caused premature failure, or at least affected the performance ranking.
@RondeLeeuw
@RondeLeeuw 2 года назад
It's a peculiar test, because Phillips screws are *supposed* to cam out at a certain torque. The driver beginning to cam out means the maximum allowed torque was achieved. Phillips is tapered for a reason.

Just don't try their Torx bits then. I used to think Torx just had A LOT of play, until I tried Wera bits. Now I have Wera, Wiha and Felo bits and they all fit 100x better than my 3 sets of Parkside bits. Parkside Pozi and Philips bits are ok. Torx just plain sucks. They might be 2/3 cheaper but using them just brings no joy at all.

For me, this is not a particularly good test for choosing which bit to buy. The test only applies to this 1 screw. It can be completely different with other screw heads. For example, it would be possible that the Wiha bit fits and moves less well, but the Bosch bit does not. It would have been better to test several different screws rather than just one.

there is a guy did screw reviews and I feel he made a great point about screws being a bad product, I have since tested all the local brands and the expensive ones can often be bad, I settled for a type I swear by now, since then there is nearly no slips which causes a lot of the wear... different towns may vary though so i don't hazard to say which is good in your town /\

Torque testing is subjective. As these are "Impact Driver Bits" They will all break in the end. If the bolt head can withstand the pounding....
@icku

I'm pretty sure we all want such bit that will withstand the beating. Otherwise i will end up changing bits every two ot three bolts. For me is better to destroy the bolt and be sure there is no way to remove it except cutting/drilling

I definitely disagree that the Wiha won at the beginning when you were testing wobble in the screw. It definitely does not help when you're in a job and your bits keep getting stuck in your screws. Big PITA. You want a good grip, but you don't want it so damn tight that it slows you down.
@MatSmithLondon

Agree, although don't you find a tiny push to the side before pulling out prevents it sticking in? Sometimes I do this AND slowly finger on the trigger as I pull out... seems to help hugely and doesn't really slow me down too much

When a bit fitst good and does not break quick it is the best. Testing a bit that does not fit right it of course destroys the head of the screw before breaking. YOu do NOT want a bit to destroy the head of a screw. And it normaly only does that when it does not fit right. Not a very good test this is.

Nobody cares if it is German or non-German. The guy offers what the test shows. And how the hell will the bit-holder help the bit in that case? Bosch recommends only to use their bit holders...Well, of course - they want to sell them. To my experience both Wera and Wiha make excellent stuff. Makita Gold - even better. Bosch is a legendary company, bit their accessories are sometimes good, sometimes so-so. Their or orbital sander sanding discs are rubbish for example ( just like Makita' and Dewolt's).
