Although I really appreciate all the product testing this channel and others do I have never seen center shafted putters tested. I have a Futura 5S and last Christmas picked up a white hot mallet to tinker with (only $150 US) but watching for tests online and going to retailers for stock is scarce. The one putter that really still interests me is an Evnroll ER5CS with the gravity grip. The face of the Evnroll putters do feel nice for sure. Even PXG came out with a center shafted option for one of their putters recently (listen up Cobra) so I would like to try one as well. Makes me feel almost like a lefty. We need some center shafted putter love.
There's tons of left handed center shafted putters on ebay, I was click baited into a bunch of Scotty Cameron putters and most were center shafted and under 300. I want a Newport for that! With a plumber hozel
Having hit several Toulon along with the Ping PLD recently I found it interesting the PLD was described as softer. I have the exact opposite reaction to the two, and after listening to the sound clip in the video several times my opinion hasn't changed. In my opinion the softest feeling putters are those that damp the high frequencies in favor of low frequencies. Don't get me wrong, the Toulon is not the softest on the planet, but the PLD sounds much firmer to my ear. One last note... as we age and our hearing degrades it's entirely possible the frequencies that stood out to me are no longer as loud to the reviewer. Likewise, it's possible losses in my hearing (I'm nearing 50) at different frequencies have altered my perception of the situation. If, as is hypothesized, putter firmness is entirely a function of what is heard it would be easy to characterize the expected result for perspective buyers. Better yet, take it a step further and provide a relative frequency plot of the impact sound. Then it may be easier to find putters that appeal to a person without ever hitting it.
No cobra putters with sik technology. I personally use a cobra king stingray vintage. Sik face, archos and £199. Missed a trick here Martin. Seems to be budget busting putters all the way 🤔
Interesting how, despite all the talk about alignment lines, every single put shown had a stroke that was out-to-in, chopping across the ball. So what's the point of all the tech if you're not going to putt straight? Hmmm...
My opinion is that looks and feel are a personal thing. I find most of the ones shown are butt ugly but if they work for you that’s great. Great fortunes have been spent on clubs over the years but you still require the ability to drive and putt. There’s no magic. Get some putting lessons first.
Lots of overrated and overpriced putter's, typical hype there is no difference in a putter made 4 years ago, my advice is wait for a couple of years and buy second hand save your money. So many videos out here the trouble with that it gets confusing for new starters to the game. I have seen so many people buy all the gear still no idea 😂, I brought a new putter unusual for me but I brought Macgregor 002 Putter £50 does the job, good video but perhaps look at different budgets
The Ping PLD DS72 should have been compared to the Bettinardi Studio Stock 3/BB-46/Queen B11. Also the Bettinardi Studio Stock 7 should have been included in the list since it's the best out there.
