I TOTALLY AGREE with getting the ssd on sale. I use the m.2 for boot and muscle mover apps like dragon speak and libreoffice and my demoted 1tb samsung evo sata ssd for all other apps, an hhd for games. With the m.2 and sata ssd combination noticed a speed improvement...more than an m.2 + hhd combination.
I want to make a 1440p high FPS build with AIO water cooling, 32gb 3600mhz CAS16 ram, 7k write 1tb m.2, and a mobo with m.2 cooling that can handle it all. I haven't yet found the right CPU and GPU to meet my goal without wrecking my bank account.
Just two months ago I was completely in the dark about PC builds nowadays, the last one I built was back in 2011. Now that I finally have the chance to do so, your channel helped me A LOT and this guide is the one I'm mostly following. I'll have a new PC in two weeks from now Greetings from a venezuelan in Uruguay
I just started learning to build my own pc with a tighter budget, i really learned a lot from watching your videos. Thanks a lot for imparting all these tips and guide
Don't buy components one by one just buy all the components together than you can get some discount and if you buy components one by one than the warranty will be an issue for example if you buy motherboard today than you buy cpu after 2-3 weeks than the warranty of your motherboard will expire first than your other components 🤔 without even using it for sometime.....sorry i'm bad in explaining things hope you get my point
@@Ramattra-ow I see what you mean, but i bought my components over about 2 months and kept tracking the prices and bought at its lowest, so why is it bad to have different warranty times? Some parts allready have different years of warranty?
A very underrated channel. The knowledge, the information and the concern for the viewers who wants to build the best out of them budget is on point. New sub here. Love from the Philippines.
I finally bought my upgrade kit one hour before this video went up. I want to thank you for all the videos that helped me figure out a solid match along the way. Here's what I went with: - AMD Ryzen 5600x (215€) - Gigabyte Aorus Elite V2 (117€/(92€), they currently have a 25€ cashback pormotion) - Corsair Vengeance PRO 3600 CL18 2x8GB (86€) - be quiet! Pure Loop 240mm (90€, mainly for aesthetics) - be quiet! Pure Base 500DX (85€) - be quiet! RGB Light Wings two 120 / one 140mm (35€, used) Paired with my already owned ASUS 1660 Ti & be quiet! Pure Power 11 500W. I'll be sticking around even if I hope that I won't habe to upgrade anything except for my old parts for the next 4-5 years.
Seems like a pretty decent setup to be honest. And if, in the future, you're yearning for a better GPU, you could go up to an RX 6600XT or a RTX 3060Ti or so
for any1 wondering the stealth cooler runs about 70-75c on warzone 1080p high settings. With the ID cooler i was able to get 58-65c while recording gameplay as well. Room is about 25c on p300a case with 2 intake 1 exhaust fan. definitely worth the $30 upgrade.
the stock cooler sucks. the only reason the temperatures might seem ok to people is because they don't understand the CPU just throttles the clocks to bring the heat down.
wow this is so helpful, everthing ur saying is also summarised on screen i find that no other channels like this do that, you make it almost impossible to get confused, thankyou
Thank you So much Jason, I've been stressing so much about a build for a 5600x for so long and now that this cpu better fits my needs, this video couldn't have come at a better time!
Love and appreciate your videos. Simple, easy to understand, straight to the point no nonsense honest information. Helped save me tons of research and nitpicking throw charts and reviews...for basically nothing. Keep it up!
I've used both the Aorus Pro-P and the Aorus B550 Elite you recommend, both are awesome boards and have been completely care-free. But your best, kind of stealth, recommendation is that massively underrated ID-Cooling SE-224-XT. We used that on my old AMD 8320 nicknamed the "Space Heater" which was running some sort of no name tower ( I bought it as a prebuilt in 2016) and the temps dropped by 30+ C. That totally blew my mind. Anyway, keep up the good work. I always enjoy your videos and I always learn something new.
You sent me here from another of your videos where I asked about a good 1000 to 1200 dollar rig and you did NOT disappoint. This is gonna be my first time building my own PC and not getting prebuilt and you have given me all the confidence I need to ace this. Thank you so much!
Great video ! The 5600 selling at the same price with 12400 definitely is a big game changer. Most of the comparisons of the gaming showed the 12400/5600/5600x are neck in neck. With the same pricing the competition now comes down to the motherboard. B550 has much better prices than B660. Although B660 does have its advantage, it has the PCIE 5 GPU slot, more PCIE4 M2 slots, most have front end Type C USB connector (B550 front Type C connector is only in MSI and some of Gigabyte boards) and thunderbolt slots. Besides 1700 slot is probably going for a few more years while the Zen3 is probably getting close to the end of its life now. Still having more competitions always is great for the consumers. Now, let's hope Intel Arc GPU is going to really crash the GPU prices in later this year.
Hey Jason love the videos I have learnt so much from u in the past week I really want to say thanks. I’m purchasing an i712700k with a 3070ti, aorua waterforce 280 pump, gigabyte z690 aorus elite,ddr4 3600 cl16, 2tb ssd, enermax revolution df 850w and a Corsair icue 4000x and an extra fan for the rear, what are your thought for the build? Thank you for everything 🤝
Great work as I'm considering a 5600 (3200g currently) I am currently using that same SE-224 cooler! Almost two years in, and its serving me well. I love the breakdown here, def. new sub.
I'd go with 4x8gb as 5000s have shown to perform better in 4 dimm over 2, but prices might vary. Good review even for someone going from an older zen to 5000; I'm saving $30 doing 5600 over 5600x, and I'll pickup a better cooler!
These videos are awesome. I love your segments. I can zoom into exactly what I want to know. You give some amazing great information to keep people's builds as cheap and awesome as possible!
Hardware Unboxed benchmarked the 6700 XT and 3060 Ti and found the only advantage the 6700 XT has is more VRAM as the performance difference at 1440p is negligible. So if you want better raytracing and DLSS, right now the 3060 Ti is the way to go if they are around the same price.
Thank you so much for this video! I decided to finally build my own PC with all these Black Friday deals going on and found myself over-worrying if I was picking things went with the 5600 I had already bought. This really helped me finalize what I need/wanted! Also appreciated your Bios video! It really really made the Bios flashback seem easy. Decided to go with the Aorus Elite without worrying if I got an updated one or not
Can confirm, the Asus B550 Tuff is a great motherboard BUT be wary of CPU coolers. The MSI FROZR cooler and similar makes it harder to fit taller Dimm heatshields if the fan is mounted on the front. The T-force sticks you are showing off absolutely clash with it, and have to be put in the second slots.
I use the 5600X / RTX 3060 Ti build we did in September as my daily driver, including for streaming and video capture (we edit on the 5950X / 3080 Ti build we put together in January).
Even though I just got a 6900 XT at MSRP from AMD Direct... I think the best bang for buck has to be that RX6600. I mostly just bit the bullet for that 999 price because I want the top of the line AMD and I hear next gen is only gonna be even more power consuming so I'll go ahead and get this one.
I have the 5600G and possibly will add a modest 4GB GPU to it... In nearly 30 years of building...Gigabyte seemed to be my Kryptonite... Had to RMA every single product they had...for the reason that it had less life than my grandmother who died in 1983...
AMD in my opinion, is a better price-to-performance value, due to the high cost of the Intel LGA motherboards, that retail for significantly more than AMD PGA motherboards. Glad to see AMD selling new CPUs and this will surely help supply and demand. Great video as always, Mr. Jason and the team! Can't wait to see the PC Builder channel continue to expand!
Thank you! I agree that Ryzen has the advantage right now. Intel really needs to work with AIBs to sort out the B660 motherboards. I'm sure they will, but should have already done it.
12400 vs 5600 is essentially a tossup. Motherboards give Ryzen a slight advantage in features and price. But wouldn't fault anyone for going intel here instead. That's why I have a 12400 build guide as well! :)
Hi Jason, again a great video! I want to build my first pc: probably a 12400 and a 3060 TI. Give your opinion on that please! I got a question: 17:18 does that mobo have a full ATX version? Thanks, love your vids!
Hello! I have a separate video for the i5 12400 gaming build - also a good choice (basically either is fine, maybe very slight cost advantage to Ryzen and better motherboard choice). The ATX sized version of the Aorus B550M Pro-P is actually the Aorus B550 Elite (confusing, right?). There is a Aorus B550 Pro with better features than either of the other two. Everything is linked in the video description.
6700xt and 3060ti much more similar in rasterization performance (especially ar 1440) than you suggest - see Steve's latest 50-game benchmark at H Unboxed
I have watched a lot of your videos to find out what the best pc build was for my budget and these videos really helped. Thank you and keep on the good work!
i am so very happy i stumbled across this channel. watching you explain things to me is like having a friend explain things to me, it feels somehow familiar.
Hey James thanks so much for making this video. I’m trying to get into PC stuff but it’s all so confusing. This video helped break down what the best product is and what I need to build a PC.
So glad we could help! And if you are just getting into PC building you might want to check out our PC Parts Explained video. Its a great jumping off point
A very generous thankyou for your guidance after seeing your clip i found my mistakes that I'm going to do in future for building my gaming PC thanks you saved my money man.
just happened to see this reply (youtube doesn't alert us to replies so we almost never see them I'm afraid). Best way to reach us with questions is a fresh comment on the latest video. We work hard to try to answer as many questions as we can with our two cat two person team (;
@@PCBuilderChannel no problem. So I am going for Ryzen 5600x MSI Radeon RX 6600xt Mech 8gb Asus Tuf gaming B550 plus wifi II with bios flashback 650W Asus TUF GAMING PSU Corsair Vengeance 8gb x 2 RAM I haven't decided about cooler, liquid vs Air. I am from India by the way. For monitor, Samsung G3 Odyssey 24" VA panel 144Hz refresh Rate, 1080p vs Acer Nitro 24", IPS panel 165Hz 1080, that's in my budget Any suggestions would be great help about this set up!
We've a 5600g build on the channel! With the gpu prices stabilizing the need for the APUs are going down, but check out the 5600g to get a sense of the performance difference between APUs and CPUs.
Look man. I can’t thank you enough. I knew I wanted a 5600 and I was like “man what goes well with it” and your video was just there man. Like get out of my head. Thank you so much
I’ve been watching a lot of ur vids now because I was finally thinking about upgrading. Ur vids are so good and straight to the point helpful with everything really. 5600x is going for 150 rn on Amazon so I think it’s time, appreciate everything :)
Cooler Master 212 keeps my 5800X cool during gaming and only peaks at 87c during street testing, had a AIO that went out and had to get what was available in town but never had any heat issues
I don't usually comment, but I have to say 10/10 job dude, I apreciate your dedication and I bet a lot of other people do. Thank you, you've earned yourself a new subscriber :D
