On my Ryzen 7 5700G build, So far i managed to Handle that 512GB SSD, Use Decent mint condition PC casing, Gamdias Headphone, and some Pendrive(Forv an Abvious reason). I will Be Biased over B550 instead of X750 or B450. As for Memory Wise, i will take 3200 16GB. And dont gwt me Going on Gigabyte P750 or P850. With my Previous PC Build on Gigabyte Brand name, and on July i heard the PSU explodes, That got me athink]ng, Cooler Master or Corsair.

Trying to get my first gaming pc. I’ve been enjoying your videos. Looking at prebuilts but I just haven’t found a good enough deal to pull the trigger on. There’s always something missing I want or something I worry might not be worth the money. I would love to build my own but I’ve never done it and obviously getting a gpu is a nightmare. Everywhere I look people say the amd 6600 is not worth buying. I kind of have my heart set on gaming in 1440P but honestly I don’t know if I should just settle for something like this or a prebuilt

Doubt it. In two years 8 gig cards will be basically E-waste. They are already obsolete now. They cannot handle ray tracing, which is becoming the norm in the gaming industry.

Don't do it man, knowing that its a budget build you're gonna buy a crappy motherboard with the 5600g, even with good cooling. My pc which also has an APU (3400g with rtx 2070 and a terrible msi b450m) which has aged like milk and its pcie 3 (both 5600g and 3400g, 3000series are pcie 3 locked) *don't get fooled this same man has told people not buy the rx 6500xt as it's pcie gen 4 and switching to pcie 3 hurts performance* When I newly got it I was impressed with its performance in csgo and valorant keeping around 60fps in 1080p low, after the pandemic I was able to get a rtx 2070 8gb (because it's pcie gen 3 mainly), I was not impressed with the performance at all, valorant was hitting only 120-140ish fps, so I did an extreme OC to the 3400g push it to its limits from 3.7 to 4.15 (some have success at 4.2 but it kept crashing my pc as the vrms get extremely hot, I do have a corsair aio and temps for it has not gone above 80 celcuis ever even after hours of doom eternal (gpu gets hot sometimes reaching 82C but thermal throttling starts at 85 accoridng to some formus) also it has a terrible max ram speed of 2993mhz (this is extremely bad as this is technically considered OC, anything more and my motherboard bootloops until it removes xmp), paired with the terrible amd software which basically puts a yellow filter on my monitor for some reason I spent soo much money back then building this pc which now sells for lesser than some OEM machines sadly, 3400g is selling for 35usd or cheaper, when I got it I paid almost 200 usd in my region. This part has basically wasted so much of my time and resources DO NOT BUY A PART WHICH YOU WILL NOT USE. Upgrading a major component like cpu/gpu is basically a loss of both time and money, your other components in your pc ALSO AGE. My recommendation just buy the regular 5600 as it's just 23 dollars more on amazon right now, 5600x is 22 dollars more than 5600 and the performance jump is not that great so pick 5600 as of now and pick a good gpu and a decent b550 or x570 motherboard (Aviod micro atx if you're not using a smaller case, routing the cables to a smaller board is much more difficult and in some cases the holes which mount for a bigger board looks odd) I recommend Nvidia as of now as they are constantly getting new drivers and their performance is not locked behind driver like Intel (Intel would destroy Nvidia if their drivers was perfect), and amd has a track record for not updating drivers especially the rx400/500 line which straight up does not have dx12 meaning some games won't work In short : buy a cpu(5600), the gpu you want something like a rtx 3060,a decent motherboard all at once or save up, don't go into the business of upgrading you will ending losing valuable time and money

@@PCBuilderChannel I want to build a whole nice benchtable PC with the Raijintech Paean M with only the 5600g on it cooled with a big 280mm AiO😂 love the overkill! I want a really nice and cool PC but only for productivity no games! What PSU can you recommend for this low end build? I though of at highest 300 watts PSU when using only this CPU for my work! I thought of a fanless PSU of Seasonic so the 450 watts is the lowest 🤔

Just 2 things to consider. If you're willing to live without the RGB, you can get 4000 cl18 memory (2x8) for $86 - $88. Also, the Thermaltake Versa H18 runs $50-$60, has a tinted glass side panel, mesh front, good cable management space, but only 1 included case fan.

You don't get a lot more FPS out of faster memory, but if you spend more time overclocking than I did you can get more FPS - but we're talking single digits here.
@davefroman4700
@davefroman4700 Год назад
Its not the speed. Its the amount of memory the system is using for the gpu. Default is 512Mb of ram. Put 32 gigs in and give the GPU 8 gigs to play with in the bios and you will see a much better performance.

Now in 2023 you can get Teamgroup T Force Vulcan ddr4 32gb (2x16) 4000mhz cl18 for 72... However, for IGPU's I reccomend going for the lower 3600mhz just cuz the 4000mhz gives a hardly noticeable peromance upgrade especially with 32gb, and if you want to go really budget then 3600mhz cl18 16gb (2x8) is the way to go, since teamgroup also has a version of that for just 37 dollars, but if you insist on 4000mhz then their 16gb 4000mhz is only 7 dollars more for 44.
@chovekb
@chovekb 6 месяцев назад
@@mymrmelon3503 3200 cl14 b-die ram second hand is so cheap now and with the 5600G's top memory controller it can be OCd to 4000 cl 16-16-16 in 1:1 with GDM EZ and fixes the 1% lows too. His 1% lows are so bad cause of the slow 3200 cl 16-18-18 ram and 1600 Infinity Fabric clock also resulting in slow cpu cache as well.

Considering getting this and upgrading to Ryzen 9 later, but now wondering if building a cheaper one would be better for now... though I'm doing this moreso for editing than gaming as I prefer consoles to PC but at the same time my current PC is a 2013 FM2 chip Lenovo with 8GB RAM cap so it's like *anything* would be an improvement.

I actually got a 5600g for an upgrade/new build. I had an old am3 gigabyte board, amd 1090T, 8gb 1600 ddr3(max the board would support), and an msi gtx1060 6gb. This was an ibuypower lower end pre-built my wife got me a little over 10 years ago that reached the end of its' upgrade path. I decided to go with the 5600g as a dedicated cpu due to where it landed in pricing vs performance. Now my poor old 1060 is the bottleneck, but hey, it still plays most games I own just fine, especially since I'm at 1080p. I went with an msi tomahawk II, 16gb corsair vengeance 3600 ram, and a cx-650m psu(the 11 year old $20 Chinese one that ibuypower used was making me nervous). I always wanted to build my own pc, and finally at 42 years old, I basically did. The only reused part is the case and the storage.(waiting for an m.2 ssd upgrade).

Thanks for this build. I just finished building a computer with a Ryzen 5600X. It's my first build. My 15 year old son thinks it's the coolest thing ever so I wanted to get him the components to build his own as a Christmas present. He plays a lot of Minecraft and a little GTA 5. I figured I would get him a 5600G and when prices come back down on GPU's he can earn some money and upgrade. I was choosing components but after this video I just went and bought everything you suggested. The 5600G from Amazon was sold out so I paid $10 more from one at New Egg and I also spent a few dollars more for a case with ARGB fans to make it look really cool for him. But the total cost was only $570 and now he'll have something really good for now that he can eventually upgrade without spending too much. 👍👍👍

The gen3 issue with GPU’s is generally a non issue when the gpu is 16x. But RX6600XT are only Gen4 8x so pairing it at 8x Gen3 is enough of a issue to give you much less performance in games like Doom Eternal. People with gen3 systems should either go 3060/3060ti or RX6700 as they are all 16x which will give you enough bandwidth even on gen3.

Hi, i recently built a budget 5600g and a520m with 550w psu. Im aware that im only at pcie3 and i thought i wont have any problem when i upgrade. My original plan is to buy 2060s/3060 or 6600 maybe nxt yr.but base on ur comment, i should not consider 6600. Im trying to find some post about this but i cant. How bad it is if i get 6600?like 20% lower performance or something? Thanks!
@45eno
@45eno Год назад
@@chrizpao Most people don’t have a clue about this topic and think because they have seen gen3 vs gen4 comparison videos they know what they are talking about. The biggest factor these people that say it won't make a difference miss is they are seeing 16x cards compared in a Gen3 vs Gen4 test. Almost every test does not talk about 8x cards in a Gen3 system. A 6600 running in a modern system gets basically the same bandwidth capability as a Gen3 16x card gets. But as soon as you put that Gen4 8x card in a older system you don't just drop down from a 31.5GB/s max Gen4 spec down to a Gen3 15.8GB/s you now halve it again to 7.88GB/s which is basically the same as super old school 16x Gen2 spec of 8.0GB/s. Gen4 16x bandwidth = 31.5GB/s Gen3 16x bandwidth = 15.8GB/s Gen4 8x bandwidth = 15.75GB/s Gen3 8x bandwidth = 7.88GB/s Gen2 16x bandwidth = 8.0GB/s So again if you must run a Gen3 spec system just buy a 16x card so you don't take a double hit in bandwidth. Some games might have little performance loss but some games like Doom Eternal on 7.88GB/s is enough to bottleneck the card. Hardware Unboxed had a video that in the middle of it showed some big hits to performance due to Gen3 8x. If someone gave you the card or you found a 6600 for like $100 then sure go for it but if buying new just go 3060/3060ti/6700/6700xt or better.

I have installed windows. when I want to open the application, the screen freezes then blacks out and then appears again with a "Driver timeout" alert every 10 minutes. even though I haven't installed the vga amd driver. when I check in the device manager, on the onboard display there is an alert triangle on the display. Is it the processor or motherboard that is damaged?

I’m really liking these FPS findings for 5600G vs. 5600X, both when applying GPU! I was comparing single- and multi-core benchmark performances on Passmark, Cinebench, Geekbench 5 across legitimate benchmarking sites among users and also noticed the % differences between 5600X and 5600G seemed marginally too low to justify the former option’s higher cost, especially for budget builders who want to start tinkering now. Since my approach was mostly analytical/theoretical, I’m glad to see how those numbers translated into actual performance in games to confirm what I was seeing. Cost minded gamers/enthusiasts really can’t go wrong with trying these new six core APU’s like you suggested, especially if they’re considering gaming AND streaming down the road. I’m buying one for sure haha, thanks again for the info #PCBuilder! - Malakai
